Background: COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 that’s highly infectious and has caused a pandemic. Vaccines are one of the most effective measures to control the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccines work by targeting the viral spike protein which can be varied in each variant of SARS-CoV-2 that threatens vaccines’ performance. This may allow breakthrough infection to occur with varying clinical characteristics. Objectives: This study aims to determine the clinical characteristics of COVID-19 on students at Medical Faculty of Andalas University based on their COVID-19 Vaccination status Methods: This research was observational descriptive. Data were collected using questionnaire with total sampling technique from December 2022 to January 2023 at the Medical Faculty of Andalas University. The questionnaire contained identity of respondent’s history, clinical characteristics of COVID-19 and their COVID-19 vaccination status. Questionnaire data were processed and displayed in frequency distribution tables. Results: The result showed that 100 samples out of 241 populations on this study were mostly women, mean age of 21.2 years old ± 0,7, range of age between 19-23 years old, most were already vaccinated for the third time, most were infected only once, and most infections happened after the second vaccination. The most common symptoms were fever, sore throat and cough. The severity of COVID-19 infections were relatively mild based despite of the vaccination status. No samples were reported of having severe critical illness. Conclusion: The symptoms of COVID-19 were relatively similar regardless of the vaccination status and the severity of COVID-19 infections were relatively mild regardless of the vaccination status on students at Medical Faculty of Andalas University.

The growth of tourism villages is a central tenet of Indonesia’s tourism development policy. Nevertheless, based on the number of affected workers, the tourism village is one of the types of Indonesian tourist destinations hardest impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has nearly entirely paralyzed the majority of tourism-related activities in the tourism village of Nglanggeran in Java. However, one unit has remained operational, namely Griya Cokelat, the women-led cocoa processing work unit. This study seeks to examine the situation of female workers in the tourism village during the pandemic, the capacity of women to acquire technology skills to bolster tourism resilience, and the impact of these activities on domestic relationships. The data collection included observing the working conditions of women in the tourism industry during the pandemic, conducting interviews with eleven informants, and examining pertinent literature. As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was discovered that these women have had to learn more keenly how to use technology in order to shift their offline to online sales. Their technological adaptation has helped the tourism village’s resilience efforts. Women’s ability to use technology—in this example, the Internet—supports the change in gender roles in families.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a risk in families, especially for those with children with special needs. An inappropriate response to the impact of the pandemic has the potential to make the existing condition worse. The implementation of social restrictions causes all activities to be carried out at home, both working and studying. The positive thing is that parents have more time to take care of their children. However, there are also parents who complain of fatigue and find it difficult, especially those who have children with special needs such as autism. The closure of treatment centers such as speech therapy and physical and social skills has an impact on the development of their basic skills. This is a challenge for parents in raising them in the current situation. The aim of this study was to understand the influence of resilience towards parenting stress on mothers of children with autism disorder in the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design used was cross-sectional. The population in this study were mothers of a child with autism disorder who attended the Pembina Special School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Linear regression analysis was used in the study. The study result showed p-value 0.023 < 0.05, which means that there is an influence on the level of resilience with parenting stress experienced by mothers who have children with autism disorder during the COVID-19 pandemic. The resilience level of mothers was at a moderate level, although mothers’ parenting stress was low. Parenting guidance and assistance for children with autism disorder needs to be done. This aims to improve coping strategies and family resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Latar belakang. Penelusuran pustaka dilakukan melalui database elektronik, yaitu Pubmed, Cochrane, dan Google Scholar dengan kata kunci “MCV vaccine” AND “COVID-19 children” AND “mortality” AND “morbidity”. Sedangkan vaksin MCV menunjukkan 87,5% (OR=0,125, 95% CI) berhubungan dengan gejala ringan (p

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS Cov-2 virus. Covid-19 caused a pandemic that has been going on since 2020. Since the pandemic, many people have been confirmed, and many have recovered who are said to be survivors of COVID-19. COVID-19 survivors can still experience symptoms such as brain fog. Students as survivors of COVID-19 who do learning can feel stress; the stress they get is called academic stress. This research was conducted to find a relationship between academic stress and brain fog in students who survived COVID-19. This study used a cross-sectional design involving 125 student survivors of COVID-19. Data analysis showed that 49 students (39.2%) did not experience brain fog, while 76 students (60.8%) were suspected of experiencing brain fog. Spearman's rank correlation test also showed a correlation between academic stress levels and brain fog (p value = 0.000) in students who survived COVID-19 with an r value of 0.409. The incidence of brain fog in COVID-19 survivors is deemed to be influenced by academic stress. There needs to be good stress management for students who are survivors of COVID-19 to maintain their thinking skills.

In Indonesia, social media is considered one of the primary channels for the massive spread of hoaxes related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The spread of hoaxes through social media is difficult to control due to the rapid advancement of internet-based information technology and the low level of digital literacy among the public. This study aims to analyze the dissemination of hoaxes and the keywords frequently associated with COVID-19 hoaxes in Indonesia from 2020 to 2022. Employing a descriptive qualitative research approach, this study uses non-participant observation on the website turnbackhoax.id as the data collection method and applies an interactive model for data analysis. The findings reveal that COVID-19 hoaxes in Indonesia are predominantly classified into misleading content, false context, and fabricated content, with fabricated content being identified as the most dangerous type.

This study aims to determine the development of the financial performance of PT Mayora Indah Tbk in 2018-2023, and whether financial performance has decreased or increased financial performance during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data collection methods used in the study were documentation and observation. The data analysis method describes descriptive quantitative with the formula for finding the level of profitability, liquidity, and solvency ratios. The results of the study in 2018-2020 financial performance increased, while after the Covid19 pandemic in 2020-2021, financial performance experienced a very drastic decline, most likely this happened due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The influence of government policies such as the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) implemented during the pandemic has a direct impact on companies which greatly limits economic activities, such as distribution and sales. Meanwhile, financial performance began to adjust after the 2021-2023 Covid-19 pandemic. While seen from the measurement of the solvency ratio there is no change at all, from 2018-2023 the financial ratio continues to decline. We recommend that PT Mayora Indah Tbk always improve financial resilience by building reserves to face unexpected challenges in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Edwards' syndrome is caused by an extra chromosome on the 18th chromosome. Patients with this diagnosis have median survival of only 3-14.5 days, with the majority of infants with full trisomy 18 type die before or shortly after they are born. There is only supportive treatment available for Edwards’ syndrome. During the COVID-19 pandemic, providing health services was challenging, leading to less than optimum treatments added by patients’ reluctance to visit healthcare facilities due to the fear of COVID-19 transmission. This case study presented an infant with Edwards’ syndrome with major malformation. The patient had several organ problems, was admitted to the NICU, and continued with home care for monitoring for 6 months. Patient then died at 9 months of age. Maintaining the best quality of life for this patient was very challenging for parents and healthcare providers. Since the management for this type of sydnome is more palliative, good education, information, and psychosocial supports for the parents are needed to prepare them with the worst conditions, which was especially more challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: The Coronavirus Disease 2019 has become a global pandemic, affecting many countries, including Indonesia. The number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, particularly in Jakarta, continues to increase. Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors influencing compliance with the COVID-19 prevention protocol among Jakarta's residents. Methods: An accidental sampling technique was used in this study, with the calculation of hypothesis testing of the difference between two proportions, resulting in a total sample of 440 respondents. Data was collected through an online survey using Google Forms. Results: The study found that education level (p-value=0.003; OR=1.818), knowledge (p-value=0.01; OR=6.669), attitude (p-value=0.01; OR=7.789), perception of vulnerability to COVID-19 (p-value=0.01; OR=3.307), social support (p-value=0.01; OR=3.733), and supervision (p-value=0.01; OR=3.435) had a significant relationship with compliance with the COVID-19 prevention protocol. However, facilities and infrastructure (p-value=0.341; OR=0.453) had no significant relationship with compliance. From the odds ratio data, knowledge and attitude significantly influence adherence to COVID-19 preventive measures. Individuals well-informed about COVID-19 are 6.6 times more likely to comply, and a positive attitude increases this likelihood by 7.8-fold. This underscores the strong link between awareness and adherence to recommended protocols. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of understanding the factors affecting adherence to COVID-19 prevention protocols. It guides policymakers and public health professionals in devising effective strategies to curb the spread of the disease.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the sustainability of tourism-related livelihoods was significantly impacted. Tourism-related SMEs, including culinary businesses, have strived to find ways to endure the pandemic. Therefore, developing strategies to cope with the crisis became essential. Viewing the COVID-19 pandemic in a holistic context, responses from culinary entrepreneurs indicate a context of the crisis that can either harm them as a vulnerable context or serve as an opportunity to improve their livelihoods. Within the framework of sustainable livelihood theory, this research examines the efforts of Salatiga culinary entrepreneurs in securing their livelihoods during the COVID-19 pandemic. Presenting an empirical case of culinary entrepreneurs in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia, this research employs a qualitative approach and collects data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The interviews were conducted during participants’ spare time, with repeated visits made to acquire detailed information. The results indicate that while major culinary entrepreneurs have managed to keep their businesses afloat, some have chosen to pivot to other industries. In conclusion, those entrepreneurs who diversified their businesses beyond the tourism sector have become more adaptable in adjusting their livelihoods to the pandemic and are better prepared for the unpredictable duration of the COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on public health worldwide.. Mathematical modeling is considered an alternative tool for understanding real-life problems, including the dynamics of COVID-19 spread. This is an applied research that purpose adds vaccination to Zeb et al. (2020) SEIQR model of COVID-19 spread and examines the dynamic of COVID-19 spread in Mataram City. First, we construct the new model by making assumptions. The fixed point and basic reproduction number (R_0 ) are then used to analyze the model using the next-generation matrix method. The next-generation matrix method is utilized to estimate the R_0 in a compartmental disease model. Two fixed points are acquired, specifically the disease-free fixed point, which is locally asymptotically stable under the condition R_01 indicated by Lyapunov function. The population dynamics when R_01 can also be observed through numerical simulation. The results of a numerical simulation indicate that giving the proportion of number vaccinated 62 per cent is effective in suppressing the number of infections.

This study aims to investigate a fractional-order mathematical model of COVID-19 transmission using the Caputo derivative definition which suitable to epidemiological cases by its advantage to explain memory effects. The model incorporates compartments for asymptomatic infections and includes a vaccination strategy aimed at mitigating the spread of COVID-19. We derived the disease-free and endemic equilibrium points for the fractional model and computed the basic reproduction number (R_0 ) using the Next-generation Matrix method. Additionally, we conducted sensitivity analyses of parameters affecting R_0. The stability of the fractional model requires specific conditions to be met by the model parameters. To approximate active COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, we utilized the Explicit Grunwald-Letnikov method which well fit with Caputo fractional differential system. Simulation results demonstrate that the fractional-order model offers a flexible approach for modelling active COVID-19 cases in these regions. We found that fractional order for active cases COVID-19 in Indonesia is α=0.9856. The simulation showed that decreasing the vaccination rate and the efficacy of the vaccine would affect the reduction of COVID-19 transmission.

The ”2019 novel coronavirus” known as “ the 2019-nCoV” or simply “COVID-19” has been declared by the World Health organization (WHO), in first quarter of 2020, as a world pandemic and a public health emergency of international concern. Alas, many details related to the COVID-19 have remained unsolved completely. The success of government strategies in fighting the COVID-19 relays mainly on the results from epidemiological or statistical studies. Statistical models play a major role in providing reliable results based on appropriate analyses. Traditional (one-part) models, mixture models and mixed-effects models for counts are used to investigate effects of the WHO-regions and Cumulated COVID-19 cases on the outcome variable COVID-19 new deaths tolls. Overall result reveals there is a strong association between number of new deaths COVID-19 with predictors including the WHO regions and cumulated cases. Besides, models that account for the overdispersion feature have smallest AICs and have reasonable regression model fits.

SARS-Cov-2 is a new virus that causes respiratory diseases that can cause respiratory system disorders, acute pneumonia, and death. The COVID-19 endemic continues to show positive things towards the endemic. The step to prevent COVID-19 is to convey information to the public regarding the prevention of COVID-19. The importance of hygiene in food handlers so that safe food is served is the focus of the implementation of Community Service activities. Hygiene implementation behavior is supported by nutritional knowledge, attitudes or behavior of the handler starting from the preparation, cleaning, processing, transportation to serving to consumers. Booklets as a health education communication medium can increase the average knowledge and nutritional attitudes of the handler towards the implementation of institutional food hygiene. Community service through a community partnership program was carried out through counseling and simulations using booklet media in Batu Merah Village as an effort to implement food handler hygiene during the Covid-19 endemic period. The counseling participants were food handlers at the Batu Merah Village Institutional Food Site, totaling 50 people. This activity adds insight into the thinking of participants regarding the application of hygiene, and through simulations the handlers can realize hygiene practices and be applied every day at food service institutions.

The Philippines had several COVID-19 infection waves brought about by different strains and variants of SARS-CoV-2. This study aimed to describe COVID-19 outcomes by infection waves using machine learning. A cross-sectional surveillance data review design was employed using the DOH COVID Data Drop dataset as of September 24, 2022. The predominant variant(s) of concern divided the dataset into time intervals representing the infection waves: ancestral (A0), Alpha/Beta (AB), Delta (D), and Omicron (O). Descriptive statistics and machine learning models were generated from each infection. The final data set consisted of 3,896,206 cases wherein 98.39% of cases recovered while 1.61% died. The highest and lowest CFR was observed during the ancestral wave (2.49) and the Omicron wave (0.61%), respectively. In all four data sets, higher age groups had higher CFRs, and F-score and specificity were highest using naïve Bayes. Area under the curve (AUC) was highest in the naïve Bayes models for the A0, AB and D models, while sensitivity was highest in the decision tree models for the A0, AB and O models. The ancestral, Alpha/Beta and Delta variants seem to have similar transmission and mortality profiles, while the Omicron variant caused lesser deaths despite increased transmissibility.

Although the pandemic is slowly winding down and the community is recovering, the dynamics that occurred in the community during the pandemic are important to discuss further. The occurrence of Covid-19 has a major impact on Bali's tourism sector, especially on workers in this field. This research was conducted to understand and capture the perspective of the psychological experiences of workers who run their lives during the Covid-19 pandemic. The informants in this study were three tourism workers who had different positions in their jobs. The method of this study is qualitative with a descriptive phenomenological analysis design because it aims to give meaning to the description of experiences provided by participants. The results of the study show that the experiences that tourism workers have in interpreting the Covid-19 pandemic are a pandemic as a means of self-development, a pandemic increases the value of spirituality and religiosity, and family is the main priority during the pandemic. This research implies that the experience during Covid-19 is interpreted similarly by the participants, even though the participants have different situations [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to analyze the preaching message containing social criticism on the Instagram account @terasdakwah through a semiotic approach. The @terasdakwah account is a digital platform that actively spreads preaching content in a creative style relevant to current social issues. This descriptive qualitative study analyzes the meaning of the preaching message of social criticism (Tafriq) in a Visual Communication Design (VCD) work. The dissection of meaning in visual works uses the semiotic analysis knife of Sumbo Tinarbuko's visual communication and Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. The results of this study show that: First, the connotative meaning revealed is that these visual works are a form of criticism of the government and society in general for the phenomena that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. The connotative level of meaning also found myths contained in the visual works studied, including the death of elderly Hajj pilgrims, the death of expertise, and prolonged frustration threatening mental health. Second, the message of social criticism (Tafriq) preaching contained in the three visual works uploaded by the Instagram account @terasdakwah is included in the first and second points in Alamsyah's theory. The first point is preaching as a correction for the reconstruction of social order, and the second point is preaching as an effort to institutionalize critical attitudes in Islamic society. Third, this study also shows that preaching is not only limited to religious rituals and formalities but can also be done by conveying social criticism. This research is hoped to provide scientific contributions to the study of preaching and communication science so that it can be a reference for further research on similar topics and discussions according to different contexts and objects of study.

Background: Myocardial dysfunction is increasingly recognized as a complication of COVID-19 infection, with implications for patient prognosis and long-term cardiovascular health. Longitudinal strain, measured via echocardiography, is a sensitive marker of myocardial function that may provide valuable insights into cardiac involvement in COVID-19 patients. This study aimed to assess myocardial dysfunction using longitudinal strain analysis in COVID-19 patients, correlating clinical symptoms and laboratory results at admission and four months post-treatment. Methods : This study compared clinical and laboratory parameters in COVID-19 patients post-recovery with and without myocardial dysfunction. Adult COVID-19 survivors were included if they were hospitalized and met certain criteria. Independent variables included clinical factors and laboratory factors at admission, while the dependent variable was myocardial dysfunction assessed through longitudinal strain of the left and right ventricles on speckle tracking echocardiography. The study was conducted at the Harapan Kita Heart and Blood Vessel Center (RSJPDHK - FKUI)/Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Jakarta. Results: This study examined the cardiovascular health of 162 participants three months after getting infected with COVID-19. Those with comorbidities had the lowest LV GLS levels. Admission factors like obesity, SpO2, and PaO2 levels were linked to decreased LV GLS levels. These findings suggest that these admission factors may predict the progression of COVID-19 syndrome and its implications on cardiovascular health. Conclusion: COVID-19 patients with cardiovascular comorbidities have lower LV-GLS values. CAD status during admission affects LV GLS values 3-6 months after COVID-19 infection, indicating myocardial dysfunction. Basal lateral LV-GLS correlates with obesity status, SpO2, and PaO2 during admission. Closely monitor COVID-19 patients with cardiovascular comorbidities and recognize the implications of CAD status on myocardial function post-infection.

Mojolangu Health Center is one of the densely populated areas which is part of the Lowokwaru sub-district and borders the Belimbing sub-district; the two sub-districts are ranked 2nd and 1st with the highest CFR (Case Fatality Rate) in Malang City. Therefore, examining public perceptions of vaccination to evaluate immunization programs and raise performance goals is essential. Purpose: To determine the relationship between the Health Belief Model components (perceived susceptibility, severity, benefits, barrier, and cues to action) and the participation of COVID-19 booster vaccination in survivors of COVID-19 aged ≥45 years. Conducted from April to November 2022, this research was located in the working area of Mojolangu Health Center (Mojolangu, Tunjungsekar, Tunggulwulung, and Tasikmadu village). Methods: This quantitative research used a case-control design study. This research sample comprised 82 people, selected using the purposive sampling technique with a 1:1 ratio for case and control. Data analysis was done using the Chi-Square test and Binary Logistics Regression tests. Results: The respondents were dominated by the middle age group (45-59 years), primarily entrepreneurs with a monthly income of more than IDR 3.5 million and domiciled in Mojolangu village. The perceived benefits variable showed p=0.04 (aOR=2.67; 95% CI=1.03-6.91) and perceived barriers p=0.01 (aOR=3.60; 95% CI=1.39-9.28), while perceived vulnerability p=1.00 (cOR=1.00; 95% CI= 0.32 – 3.16), perception of cues to act p= 0.18 (cOR= 1.82; 95% CI= 0.75 - 4.40). Conclusion: Factors related to booster vaccination participation are perceived benefits and barriers.
