The potential of Leucaena leucocephala leaves as a protein supplement needs to be optimized. This research aims to evaluate the use of 10 to 40% Leucaena leucocephala leaves with 15% of crude protein to increase the production of goat farming. A total of 16 male Etawa (Jamnapari) goats with an average weight of 28.20±3.79 kg. The researchers analyzed the data using the Randomized Group Design with four treatments and four groups based on the subject's body weight. Each goat obtained basal feeds ad libitum and the concentrated feeds with 15% crude protein corresponding to each treatment Leucaena leucocephala-based concentrate (named KL, consisting of KL10%, KL20%, KL30%, and KL40%), reaching 1% of Body Weight. Limestone mining has the potential into environmental damage that involve modify an ecosystem. The attempt that contrived to reduce the disturbances are rehabilitation. This research was conducted to examine the growth response of Leucaena leucocephala inoculated with AMF and soil ameliorant in a limestone post-mining soil. The design used was a split-plot design in a completely randomized design with 3 factors. The first factor was AMF inoculum (Daemonorops draco AMF and MycoSilvi), the second factor was organic fertilizer of compost, and the third factor was inorganic fertilizer. The variables used in this study expressed by height, diameter, biomass, root colonization, and nutrient absorption of the plant. The analysis showed that the combination of MycoSilvi and compost 7.5% gave best result of height, diameter, and biomass, with significantly increased by 962.67%, 899.41% and 1440.67% to control plant. It also gave best result of nutrient uptake N, P, and K, with significantly increased up to 17.64 g plant-1, 2.42 g plant-1, and 18.05 g plant-1. In general, AMF showed a good percentage of root colonization with an average 36.67-86.67%. Further research is needed to determine the response to the growth of seedlings planted in the field.

Abstrak This study aims to determine the impact of the physiological status of goats with a higher proportion of lamtoro leaves. Forage feed given to goats consisted of a combination of raja grass, Gamal and lamtoro leaves with the following composition: P1= Raja grass 50% + Gamal 50%; P2= Raja grass 40% + Gamal leaf 40% + Lamtoro leaf 20%; P3 = Raja grass 30% + Gamal leaf 30% + Lamtoro leaf 40%. In general, the provision of lamtoro leaves up to 40% of the total ratio did not have a negative impact on the kambing kacang growth and health. The rectal temperature and pulse count in goats were in the normal range for goats, but the respiration rate was twice the normal range. The high frequency of respiration is thought to be due to the high proportion of legumes in the ratio which can increase the amount of feed consumption due to the high palatability of the legumes. This will have an impact on the body's metabolism which is indicated by an increase in respiration. However, the high frequency of respiration in this study can also be caused by environmental factors (temperature and humidty) which were quite high during the study. Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak pemberian lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala) pada status fisiologi ternak kambing kacang. Proporsi daun lamtoro pada pakan ternak kambing diberikan berkisar antara 20-40%. Pemberian lamtoro dikombinasikan dengan pakan hijauan lain dengan komposisi sebagai berikut: P1= Rumput raja 50 % + gamal 50% + lamtor (0%); P2= Rumput raja 40% +daun gamal 40% + daun lamtoro 20%; P3= Rumput raja 30% + daun gamal 30% + daun lamtoro 40%. Secara umum pemberian daun lamtoro hingga 40% dari total ransum tidak memberikan dampak negatif terhadap status fisiologi ternak kambing kacang. Suhu rektal dan jumlah pulsus pada ternak kambing berada pada kisaran normal untuk ternak kambing, namun jumlah respirasi dua kali lipat dari kisaran normal. Tingginya frekwensi respirasi diuga disebagakan tingginya proporsi legum pada ransum yang dapat meningkatkan jumlah konsumsi pakan karena tingginya palatabilitas legum. Hal ini akan berdampak pada metabolisme tubuh yang diindikasikan dengan peningkatan respirasi. Namun demikian tingginya frekwensi respirasi pada penelitian ini dapat juga disebabkan faktor lingkungan (temperature dan kelembaban) yang cukup tinggi semasa penelitian. Benih bermutu tinggi yaitu benih yang mempunyai mutu fisik, fisiologis dan patologis. Salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi kerusakan akibat patogen benih, perlu dilakukan pengujian kesehatan benih selanjutnya dilakukan teknik pengendalian tepat. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh fungisida terhadap viabilitas benih lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala). Metoda penelitian yaitu 1) identifikasi cendawan pada benih sehat, terinfeksi ringan dan terinfeksi berat 2) pengujian daya berkecambah 3) pengaruh perlakuan fungisida terhadap benih yang sehat dan terinfeksi ringan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jenis cendawan yang ditemukan pada benih sehat adalah Aspergillus sp. (11%), Penicillium sp. (9%), Fusarium sp. (22%) dengan daya berkecambah sebesar 70,5%, pada benih terinfeksi ringan ditemukan Aspergillus sp. (51%), Penicillium sp. (51%), Fusarium sp. (30%) dengan daya berkecambah sebesar 19,5% sedangkan pada benih yang terinfeksi berat ditemukan Aspergillus sp. (99%), Penicillium sp. (99%), Fusarium sp. (40%) dengan daya berkecambah sebesar 0%. Perlakuan untuk benih yang sehat adalah dengan perendaman dalam air panas selama 24 jam. Perlakuan tersebut menghasilkan daya berkecambah 70,5% sedangkan untuk benih yang terinfeksi yaitu dengan merendam benih terlebih dahulu dalam air panas selama 24 jam kemudian dalam larutan benomil 0,2% selama 1 jam. Perlakuan tersebut mempunyai daya berkecambah 65,5%. Dengan demikian perlakuan untuk benih yang sehat adalah dengan perendaman dalam air panas selama 24 jam sedangkan untuk benih yang terinfeksi yaitu dengan merendam benih terlebih dahulu dalam air panas selama 24 jam kemudian dalam larutan benomil 0,2% selama 1 jam.

This experiment aims to know the solar energy efficiency of four clones of cocoa that cultivated under three different shading plants. This experiment has been done from September until December 2013 located at Kaliwining Experiment Farm with characteristic 45 m above sea level, soil type is low humic gley, soil texture is silty clay loam, and climate classification type D based on Scmidht and Fergusson Classification. This experiment used Nested Design as Experimental Design with species of shading plant as main plot which are Teak (Tectona grandis L.), Krete (Cassia surattensis (Burm.) F.), Lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala L.) and Cocoa clones as sub plot which are Sulawesi 1, Sulawesi 2, KKM 22, KW 165. The observation of solar energy efficiency consists of daily solar radiation intensity, solar radiation intensity above plant, solar radiation intensity under plant, and also plant total dry weight. The experimental result showed that there is differences (heterogenity) between shading location based on homogenity test by Bartlett Method. There are some interaction between the kind of shading plant and clones in parameter of interception efficiency, absorbtion efficiency, the efficiency of solar energy that caught by plant, and solar energy conversion efficiency. The efficiency of solar energy that caught by plant will affect the solar energy conversion efficiency with R2 = 0,86.
