Background of the study: This study examines users’ education as correlates of library resources utilization by undergraduates’ in selected universities in Kwara State. The study identified five (5) research questions and two (2) research hypotheses. Purpose: The study adopted descriptive where set of questionnaire were used to collect data. Stratified random sampling technique was used for this study, it was a sampling technique considered appropriate because the researcher intend to divide the two universities into strata, that is, faculty and college making a total of 15 and 5 faculties/colleges in University of Ilorin and Kwara State University respectively. Raosoft calculator was used to select sample size of the study at 95 % level of confidence. So, the total population for this study thus 382. Method: Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency count and percentages while Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the two hypotheses of the study. Findings: The study revealed that majority of undergraduates’ are of opinion that users education has being a major mechanism to effective utilization of electronic information resources in University of Ilorin and Kwara state university Conclusion: The study also concluded that textbooks, journals, indexes and abstracts, newspapers, CD-Rom and databases, internet are major information resources provision in the selected universities while the provision of Video tapes/cassettes are less provided in the library

This study aims to provide additional benefits to the literature on the role of market orientation on the performance relationship of manufacturing industrial companies in Solo Raya. This type of research is a causality study with a sample size of 100 respondents, which is obtained from 5 times the number of parameters (20). The research uses path analysis which has a direct or indirect effect. The results of this study indicate: 1) responsive market orientation has a significant positive effect on marketing performance, 2) proactive market orientation has a significant positive effect on marketing performance, 3) responsive market orientation has a significant positive effect on financial performance, 4) Complaint handling has no significant negative effect on financial performance, 5) Marketing performance has a significant positive effect on financial performance. The result of the direct effect of responsive market orientation on financial performance is smaller than the indirect effect. The direct effect of proactive market orientation on financial performance is smaller than the indirect effect. Introduction: Sensorineural hearing loss caused by loud noise exposure for a long time is known as the risk ofexperiencing Noise-Induced Hearing Loss. PT. Multi Karya Asia Pacific Raya (PT. MKAPR) is a company that provides products and services to the oil and gas industry in Indonesia. Based on its medical check-up, workshop workers at PT MKAPR have the risk of experiencing Noise-Induced Hearing Loss. The Lodan-9 Workshop area was known to have different noise levels, 88-91 dB in the fabrication, pump and engineering areas, and 90-102 dB in the function test area. The purpose of this study was to identify predicting factors of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss at PT. MKAPR. Method: This study used a case-control design. The population in this study were 26 cases and 48 control. Sample size in this study consisted of 26 cases and 26 control. We used a purposive technique sampling. Data were collected through questionnaire, and then were analyzed by using Chi-Square Test. Result: There were association between noise intensity (P-value: 0.035 OR: 4.714; 95% CI: 1.266-17.561), and work period (P-value: 0.029; OR 5.622; 95% CI: 1.342-23.55) with the incidence of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss. Meanwhile age of workers (P-value: 1; OR: 1.547; 95% CI: 0.336-2.976) and smoking habits (P-value: 0.465; OR: 0.435; 95% CI: 0.096-1.168) have no relationship with the incidence of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss. Conclusion: Noise intensity and work period were predictors of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss on PT.MKAPR’ workers. The longer the workers work in high noise intensity area, the more they are at risk of experiencing Noise-Induced Hearing Loss.Keywords: ear, noise-induced hearing loss, noise, noise intensity

Nurses who are considered by the hospital to be able to provide maximum health services to patients so that they can increase patient satisfaction. This research was conducted to analyze the job satisfaction of nurses based on Internal Service Quality in the inpatient installation of RSI A. Yani Surabaya. The study was conducted with an observational analytic design and cross-sectional approach. The study population was the nurses in the inpatient installation of RSI A. Yani Surabaya, a total of 104 nurses. The sample size was 78 nurses who were spread in each inpatient room of RSI A. Yani Surabaya. The method of sampling using simple random sampling. Data analysis was performed using binary logistic regression test. The results showed that 98.7% of nurses rated internal service quality as good and 64.1% of nurses said they were satisfied. Based on the statistical test, it was found that the value of p = 0.999 ( 0.05), which means that internal service quality has no significant effect on job satisfaction of nurses. However, based on the aspect of internal service quality, the aspects of tools and reward and recognition can provide an almost significant effect on job satisfaction of nurses. Provision of tools has 9.23 times less risk of dissatisfying nurses than providing good tools. Likewise, giving rewards and recognition that was less likely to have a 3.34 times risk of making nurses dissatisfied compared to giving good recognition.

The purpose of this research is to study the factors that influence trust and purchase intention on Islamic Bank Products in Medan City and produce models for measuring trust and purchase intention on Islamic Bank products in Medan City. In this study the population is unknown, therefore a representative sample with non-probability sampling technique is needed and the method used is purposive sampling. In this study, the number of indicators is 21, so by using ten times the indicator calculation, the required sample size is 170 people. Data collection was carried out using observations, questionnaires and documentation studies. Data analysis in this study was carried out by using the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence on Bank Reputation on Trust, There was a positive and significant influence of Religiosity on Trust, there was a positive and significant influence on Bank Reputation on Purchase Intention, there was a positive and significant influence on Religiosity on Purchase Intention, there was a positive and significant influence. trust in Purchase intention. Trust can positively mediate the effect of Bank Reputation on Purchase Intention and Trust can positively mediate the influence of Religiosity on Purchase Intention.

Background of the study: The study aimed at examining perceptions of undergraduates on the contributions of online tools towards improvement of reading habit in Kwara state in universities. The study identified six (6) research questions. The research population was limited to undergraduates at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State University, Malate and Al-Hikmah University. Purpose: The study adopted descriptive survey design with questionnaire to collect data. The simple random sampling technique was adopted. The researcher used Educational and Psychological Measurement Israel model (2003) sample table to arrive at the actual sample size for this study. Therefore, the sample size for this study at level of ± 5% level of significance for population of 53, 130 students was 397. With total population of 76% for University of Ilorin, 18% for Kwara State University Malate and 6% for Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin. Method: Data collected from the field were analyzed using descriptive method of analysis. Findings: The findings of the study revealed that blog, twitters, E-mail, websites, YouTube, Facebook is the most available online tools that improve undergraduates reading habit. The study also revealed that undergraduates using online tools for social purpose than others. Conclusion : The study concluded that undergraduates have good perception using online tools for their reading. The study also established that undergraduates using online tools for social, political, recreation and religion benefits. It is also established that distraction, fallout from technologies, financial constraints and poor power supply are the major setbacks to the use of online tools for reading.

Indonesia is a tropical country that has two seasons, rainy and dry. Nowadays, the earth is experiencing the climate change phenomenon which causes erratic rainfall. The rainfall is influenced by several factors, one of which is the local scale factor. This research was aim ed to build a rainfall model in Sulawesi to find out how the rainfall relationship with local scale factor in Sulawesi. In this research, the data used were secondary data which consisted of 15 samples with 6 variables from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). The limitation of the sample size in this study was due to the limited secondary data available in the field . The data was processed using Principal Component Regression Analysis . The first step was reducing local scale factor variables so that the principal component variable could be obtained that can explain variability from the original data which then that variable was analyze d using principal regression analysis. The data were analyzed by utilizing R Studio software. The results show that two principal component variables can explain 75.2% of the variability of original data and only one principal component variable that was significant to the rainfall variable. The regression model explain ed that the relationship between rainfall , humidity, air temperature, air pressure , and solar radiation was in the same direction while the relationship between rainfall and wind velocity was not in the same direction. Overall , the results of the study provide d an overview of the application of the Principal Component Regression analysis to model the rainfall phenomenon in the Sulawesi region using the R program.

Introduction: Work exhaustion defined as a tired feeling felt by workers with different symptoms in each individual. In this study work fatigue was divided into two types, namely physical work fatigue and mental work fatigue. This study aims to determine risk factors of physical and mental fatigue on utility unit PT. Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) which produces petroleum or gas, as well as the chemical BTX. Methods: This research was an observational study with a cross-sectional method. Based on the problem characteristic and data analysis, this study belongs to analytical research. Data were collected by interview, questionnaires, measurement, and observations. The population is 36 workers and the sample size of this study is 33 respondents from utility unit workers. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. The variables in this study were age, years of service, work duration, workload, heat stress index, responsibility, and support from company’s head. Results: Showed that factors associated with physical and mental fatigue are the age, workloads, work duration, and heat stress index. Conclusion: Physical fatigue and mental fatigue had correlation with age, workloads, work time, and heat stress index. The higher age, workload, work duration, and heat stress index, it will increasingly cause physical and mental fatigue faster and harder.Keywords: fatigue risk factors, mental fatigue work, physical fatigue work

Stunting is a short and very short body state that exceeds the Z-Score -2 SD deficit below the median length or height, as measured by height by age or length by age (TB / U or PB / U). Many factors affect the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months. The aim of the study is to determine the determinants of the incidence of stunting in infants aged 24-59 months. This type of research is observational analytic using a case-control design. The study population was all mothers who have children aged 24-59 months in the working area of Puuwatu Health Center, Kendari City. The number of sample cases as many as 35 people while the number of control samples as many as 72 people with a sample comparison of 1 case: 2 controls so that the total sample size of 108 people, obtained through purposive sampling. Changes in physical, psychological, hormonal and the social conditions occurred in the process of ageing. These changes are expected to bringing impact to the quality of life of the elderly people. The aim of the study is to assess the quality of life and its related factors among the elderly population in Sarawak. A quantitative research has been conducted in the form of survey research by distributing WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The study was conducted among the elderly people aged 60 years and above who are living in Sarawak. The sample size of the study was 130 participants that were obtained through snowballing sampling. The data were analysed using Pearson Correlation which was to find out the relationship between each domain and the quality of life of the elderly people in Sarawak. The results obtained shows that the mean score of WHOQOL-BREF was 90.17 whereby the mean scores of the domain environment score the highest among the four domains. In conclusion, the overall score of the quality of life of the elderly people in Sarawak was average.

This study aims to determine whether there is the influence of professional allowance and work motivation on teacher performance. The population in this study were all high school teachers in the District of Muara Sugihan (55 teachers). The sampling technique used was proportionate stratified random sampling. The sample consisted of 2 groups: teachers who had received professional allowances and who had not received professional allowances. The sampling technique uses a sample size determination table developed by Isaac and Michael, for a population of 55 people with an error rate of 5%, a sample of 48 people. The results of data analysis show that (1) there is a significant effect between professional allowances on teacher performance by 25.3%; (2) there is a significant effect between work motivation on teacher performance variables with an influence of 47.0%; (3) there is a significant effect between the professional allowance and work motivation together on the teacher's performance of the Public High School in Muara Sugihan District at 57.0%.

The aim of this research is to find out how big the role of the farmer group members in increasing rice production at Korobhera Village, Meggo Subdistrict, Sikka District. The research has been done on April to May 2019. This is a qualitative study with purposive sampling considering the site was one of rice central production. The objectives of the study were to know : 1) how big the role of the farmer group members to productivity increasing in the area of research ; 2) the constraints faced by the members of the farmer group. Sample was done randomly using simple random sampling method with a total sample size of 50 people, who were the members of four farmer groups existed. The results of research indicated that the role of farmer group members in increasing rice production at the location of research was high, shown by the percentage of the accomplishment maximum score from average score in the amount of 75,65% (average score 87). The constraints faced by members of farmer group were quite similar, which were financial capital limits problem, uncaged livestocks and the availability of production tools was often not on time.

Hypertension is still a health problem for the elderly group. The misperception about hypertension still occurs to the elderly. They often ignore hypertension and it impact their quality of life. The aim of this study is to obtain patient perceptions and the elderly’s quality of life who are experiencing hypertension, also the relationship between patient perceptions and the elderly’s quality of life who are experiencing hypertension at Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie Hospital Pontianak. This study was observational with analytival survey design. EQ-5D-3L (EuroQol five dimensions and B-IPQ (Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire) Indonesian version are instruments used which were valid and reliable. The subjects were hypertensive outpatient attending Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie Hospital Pontianak at aged> 60 years. The sample size was 118 respondents which were obtained from purposive technique sampling. Data was collected through B-IPQ instruments to measure patient perceptions, and EQ-5D-3L to measure patients' quality of life. The relationship between perception and quality of life was analyzed using Fisher's Exact Test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed the percentage of respondents who had a positive perception was 74.22%, and good quality of life was 76.56%. The results of statistical analysis show there is a significant relationship between patient perceptions and the quality of life of elderly patients who experience hypertension at Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie Hospital Pontianak with value of p = 0,000.

Anak-anak memiliki masalah yang sangat bervariasi berkaitan dengan pertumbuhan, perkembangan dan nutrisi. Kekurangan makronutrien dapat memicu malnutrisi protein-kalori dan ketika dikombinasikan dengan defisiensi mikronutrien dapat menimbulkan masalah gizi pada balita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa tingkat konsumsi dalam kejadian gizi kurang pada balita di Puskesmas Jelbuk, Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan desain observasional menggunakan pendekatan case control. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh balita usia 0-5 tahun. Tehnik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan Simple Random Sampling. Besar sampel ditentukan berdasarkan rumus besar sampel pada penelitian dengan pendekatan case control yaitu sebanyak 42 balita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara tingkat konsumsi kalori (α=5%,p=0,003), tingkat konsumsi protein (α=5%,p=0,003), tingkat konsumsi karbohidrat (α=5%,p=0,002) dan tingkat konsumsi lemak (α=5%,p=0,005) dengan kejadian gizi kurang pada balita. Hendaknya ada koordinasi serta upaya dari bidan wilayah, Puskesmas dan Dinas Kesehatan setempat untuk meningkatkan kegiatan-kegiatan berkaitan dengan promosi kesehatan tentang pola asuh berkaitan dengan pentingnya asupan nutrisi pada balita.

Background : Prevalence of Diabetes M el litus (DM) in Indonesia is 1.5%. Diabetes M el litus is not only suffered by adults, but the age of adolescents and children as well. R isk factors in children include gender, obesity, mealtimes, race, age and genetics. Objective : The objective of the study was to analyze the risk factors of high blood glucose incidence in school children. Methods : This research was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The population was all students of SD Negeri 1 Sokoboyo class IV to VI amounted to 82 students. The sample size was 82 students taken by purposive sampling technique. The independent variables include obesity and sex, as well as the dependent variable that is the blood sugar level. Test analysis used is chi-square test with significance level 5% (α = 0,05). Results : Most of the female sample (54.9%), 30.5% were obese and 43.9% had abnormal blood sugar levels. Girls have a 2,95 times greater risk of having high blood sugar levels than boys. Obese children have 10,25 times greater high blood glucose levels than normal children . Conclusion : Sex and obesity are associated with blood sugar levels in students class IV s / d VI SD Negeri 1 Sokoboyo Slogohimo District Wonogiri District.

Background: The risk of death caused by non-communicable diseases is related to metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome not only occurs in adults, but also occurs in adolescents. The problem of metabolic syndrome in adolescents shows the importance of early detection and management. Early detection of metabolic syndrome in adolescents can be done through non-invasive approaches such as anthropometric measurements. However, the definition of metabolic syndrome has so far not reached an agreement. Objective: This study aims 1) To know the intersection points of adolescent metabolic syndrome 2) To know the best anthropometry parameters for detecting metabolic syndrome in adolescents. Method: This study used cross sectional design, using Riskesdas 2013 survey data. The sample size of this study was 3273 adolescents aged 15-24 years. The analysis using receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) indicated the accuracy of the score to diagnose metabolic syndrome, supported by area under the curve (AUC) results. The best parameters were seen from the largest AUC values, taking into account the sensitivity and specificity values. Results: The metabolic syndrome scores in general for Indonesian adolescents=2.21 (sensitivity=83%, specificity=84%). Specific cutoff point for women=2.02 (sensitivity=84%, specificity=85%), and for males=2.40 (sensitivity=86%, specificity=82%). The best anthropometric parameters for detecting metabolic syndrome in adolescents are abdominal circumference (AUC=0.77; sensitivity=71%, specificity=67%). Conclusion: Abdominal circumference has the best validity and can be used for early detection of the risk of metabolic syndrome in adolescents

The surgical procedure for most patients triggers anxiety and fear. Approximately 60-80% of patients who will undergo surgery experience anxiety that needs to be intervened in the category of moderate to severe anxiety (Efendy, 2005 in Faradisi, 2012). This study aims to determine the effect of psycho-religious therapy and classical music therapy on pre operative patient anxiety in RSUDAM Lampung Province in 2016. This research type is quasi-experiment research with non-equivalent control group design. This research was conducted at RSUDAM Lampung Province in September- November 2016 in three surgical wards: the gelatik room (orthopedic surgery), the kutilang room (male general surgery) and the rose room (female general surgery). The population taken were all pre operative patients within the study period. The sampling technique uses a purposive method and the sample size is 80 people divided into 2 groups ie the group which is given the classical music intervention and the group that is given psycho-religious therapy with religious music and murrotal Al Quran surah Arrahman. The data were collected using a survey of Zung Self Anxiety Rating Scale (ZSARS) instruments before and after treatment. Bivariate analysis was performed using independent t-test statistic test by setting Alpha value 0,05 and 95% CI. The results of this study conclude that there are differences of psycho-religious therapy and classical music therapy on pre operative patient's anxiety at RSUDAM Lampung Province 2016 (p-value 0,030) with a decrease of ZSARS score in patients treated with psycho-religious therapy 2,250. Researchers suggested that psycho-religious therapy performed on pre operative patients at RSUDAM Lampung Province and entered into one form of intervention to decrease preoperative anxiety.

t-test used to test means of two populations assumes that each population is normally distributed. Theoretically, violation of the assumption makes the result of the test invalid. This research evaluates the robustness of the t-test on various value of sample size using three types of distribution: normal, symmetric non-normal, and not symmetric non-normal. Different computation techniques of t-value which depend on the variance of the two populations were also employed. The simulation showed that t-test used to test mean of two populations is not influenced by non-normality of the population distribution. The exploration of distribution of the difference between two samples means showed that its distribution was normal. Therefore, the robustness against non-normality of the t-test was the consequences of the difference between two sample means that normally is distributed.

The purpose of this research is to study the influence of parental involvement in education related activities on student achievement in high schools in NongChok District, Bangkok, Thailand. To compare the influence that parental involvement has on student achievement as well as analyze the joint influence of parental involvement and education policy on student achievement, parents are categorized in accordance with demographic characteristics. The population in the comprised parents who have children that are currently studying in public high schools in NongChok district, Bangkok, Thailand. A non-random sampling method was used in determining the sample of respondents used in the survey. The calculated sample size was 210 respondents. Data were collected using structured questionnaire which had 0.88 reliability. Determining demographic characteristics was based on descriptive statistics (percentage, mean, and Standard Deviation; while One-way ANOVA, and Multiple Linear Regression analysis techniques were used to analyze the data. Study results indicated that 60.5 percent of respondents were married mothers (79.5 percent), had high school education attainment or equivalent to (51.4 percent), worked as employees (43.8 percent), earned below or equivalent to 150,000 Baht per year (44.3 percent), and worked less than or equal to 8 hours per day (71.9 percent). Testing of hypotheses showed that the involvement of parents in students’ education of parents takes various forms; type of the parents had a statistically significant influence on students’ achievement at 0.01 level. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis indicated that education policy had significantly influence on students’ achievement at 0.01 level, while parental involvement did not show statistically significant relationship with students’ achievement.

This research used two sets of test instruments, namely the Final Examinations of Mathematics of seventh grade, which were respectively developed by SMPN 223 Pasar Rebo East Jakarta and SMPN 196 Cipayung East Jakarta. These two sets of test instruments were developed based on different construct on its indicator. The method used was an experimental method that was aimed to examine the accuracy of concordance method between linear and equipercentile methods based on test length of 20 and 30 items with sample size of 100 and 150. Samples are taken by using multiple random sampling with as many as 20 replications. Research hypotheses were tested by using t-test analysis. The study concluded that the RMSD score of the equipercentile method was greater than the same score of the linear method. This indicated that linear method was more accurate compared to equipercentile method., Penelitian ini menggunakan dua perangkat tes, yaitu: perangkat tes Ulangan Akhir Semester mata pelajaran Matematika kelas VII yang dikembangkan oleh dua sekolah yang berbeda, yaitu: SMPN 223 Pasar Rebo Jakarta Timur dan SMPN 196 Cipayung Jakarta Timur. Kedua perangkat tes tersebut disusun berdasarkan kisi-kisi yang berbeda pada indikatornya. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk meneliti akurasi metode concordance antara metode linier, dan metode ekipersentil berdasarkan pada panjang tes 20 dan 30 serta ukuran sampel 100 dan 150. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan melalui metode acak berulang dengan pengembalian sebanyak 20 replikasi. Hipotesis penelitian diuji dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa nilai RMSD metode ekipersentil lebih besar dari metode linier. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode linier lebih akurat dibandingkan metode ekipersentil.

The aim of this research is to determine the influense of self-concept and discipline in learning, either directly or indirectly on mastery of concepts of natural science. The research method used was a survey, with a sample size of 75 students, drawn by simple random sampling technique from primary school in the area of South Jakarta. Data collection used a questionnaires that have been validated and the data values from the results of the written test students. Data analisys used path analisy, with the first test of normality, linearity test and multikolinearity test. The implications of this study were obtained, namely : that there is a direct influence on the discipline of self-concept study is r12 = 0,617 and P21= 0,617, there is a direct influence on concept mastery learning discipline of natural science is r12 = 0,407 and P21= 0,306, self-concept does not directly influence mastery of concepts of natural science is r13 = 0,352 and P31= 0,163.

This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation, supervision, and work culture either partially or simultaneously on employee productivity. Total population is 114 employees at the production division of aluminum casting company “SP“ Yogyakarta. By using the method of Isaac and Micheal, with a 5 % error level, sample size is 86. The sampling method used disproportionate stratified random sampling, which is a technique used to determine the number of samples when stratified population less than the proportion required. Data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis and the result states that even there is no motivation, supervision, and work culture, the employee still obtain work productivity of 7,153. All regression coefficients are positive, which mean that three variables have positive effect on labor productivity . Furthermore, it is indicated that partially,motivation and supervision do nothave any influence on employee productivity, but work culture variable does. Based on F test, variables ofmotivation, supervision, andwork culture,simultaneously have influenced thelaborproductivity. The research also shows that 53.2% influencesof labor productivitycan be explainedbythe variables of motivation, supervision, andwork culture, while the remaining0f 46.8% is contributedbyother variablesthatis notincluded inthisstudy.

This study is aimed to obtain information of different score variance result of equating linear method and equipercentile method for sample size 200, 400, and 800 in Ujian Akhir Sekolah Berstandar Nasional (UASBN). The research is important in considering the test device of UASBN shaped packages of different tests. Scores obtained from different packages can not be directly inferred the existence of differences in ability between them, because the difficulty level of the package used influencing these differrences. To overcome the differences are doing through equating. The method used is an experiment of two variables, equating method and the number of respondents. The experiments are not conducted during the learning process, but conducted after the score and the pattern of the answers obtained through UASBN. The population examinee UASBN SD/MI 2008/2009 for IPA subject matter at East Jakarta. Sampling uses random replacement technique. The hypothesis is tested using similarity variance. The results with α = 0,05 shows: (1) score variance equipercentile method (σ2ekp200) is not different to score variance linear method (σ2lin200) for the sample size 200, (2) score variance equipercentile method (σ2ekp400) is not different to score variance equating linear method (σ2lin400) for the sample size 400, and (3) score variance equipercentile method (σ2ekp800) is not different to score variance equating linear method (σ2lin800) for the sample size 800.

The aims of this research is to study the sensitivity comparison of Mantel Haenszel and Rasch Model for detection differential item functioning, observed from the sample size. These two differential item functioning (DIF) methods were compared using simulate binary item respon data sets of varying sample size, 200 and 400 examinees were used in the analyses, a detection method of differential item functioning (DIF) based on gender difference. These test conditions were replication 4 times. For both differential item functioning (DIF) detection methods, a test length of 42 items was sufficient for satisfactory differential item functioning (DIF) detection with detection rate increasing as sample size increased. Finding the study revealed that the empirical result show Rasch Model are more sensitive to detection differential item functioning (DIF) than Mantel Haenszel. With reference to findings of this study, it is recomended that the use of Rasch Model in evaluation activities with multiple choice test. For this purpose, it is necessary for every school to have some teachers who are skillfull in analyzing results of test using modern methods (Item Response Theory).

This research was conducted to see the effect of the number of testee (sample size), the number of items (test length), the number of options, and index of difficulty to various item discrimination statistics and test reliability. The data used are simulated data and analyzed using the Test Analysis Program (TAP) version 6.65 with a full factorial design. In general, the results show that the number of testee, the number of items, and index of difficulty (except number of options) significantly affect the various item discrimination statistics and test reliability. The statistics are robust to these three factors is only the Mean of Item Discrimination and Spearman Brown’s 1-2 Split-Half, while the most sensitive is Split-Half Odd-Even statistic.
