The existence of a dichotomy for students in the classroom makes transferring knowledge from teachers to students an inequality that runs ineffectively due to the difference between intelligent and unintelligent students, especially in learning Islamic education. This study analyzes learning innovations based on multiple intelligences (MI) in Islamic education subjects. This study is qualitative in nature, uses a library research approach, and the data analysis used is a descriptive-qualitative analysis. The data sources employed are from previous relevant research on multiple intelligence (MI)-based learning, such as international and national journals. However, Howard Gardner, a psychologist from Harvard University, adopted the study. This study revealed awareness that every student born into this world has their own uniqueness, which has the right to be recognized and appreciated in their learning environment and in developing their potential. Multiple intelligence (MI)-based learning is a form of learning innovation that can be an option for Islamic education teachers in Indonesia. Implementing multiple intelligences (MI)-based learning is intended to accommodate students' diverse intelligences.

The development of the flow of Arabic knowledge at the pesantren level (Madrasah Aliyah, Madrasah Diniyah, and Madrasah Ta'wiliyah). Demanding increased Arabic learning to santri. However, this is inversely proportional to the fact that students are declining in developing Arabic mufrodat and linguistics material. This study aims to analyze the Arabic language learning model based on multiple intelligences from a neuroscience perspective. The setting of this research is located in the Himmatul ‘Amilin Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. The subjects of this research consisted of the leaders of Islamic boarding schools, musyrif, and ustadz. Subject selection was carried out using the purposive sampling technique to obtain objective and valid data. The approach in this research is to use a case study-based qualitative method. Researchers in collecting data using observation methods, direct interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique was followed by Milies and Huberman, namely by displaying data, reducing data, and verifying data. The results of this study explain that learning Arabic based on multiple intelligences increases the intelligence of students in learning Arabic mufradat and linguistics (mufradat, Arabic morphology, and Arabic syntax). From some of the material taught, namely about everyday mufradat and understanding of shorof in the isim file chapter. In this case, multiple intelligences are combined with neuroscientific theory between the interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence centers in the right brain and left brain. This research has implications for the improvement and development of students in understanding Arabic material (quwaidul arabiyah) in today's Islamic boarding schools.

The success of students in learning does not only depend on their own abilities. Several factors that can give effect need to be optimized. The teacher's strategy is very meaningful to optimize students' multiple intelligences according to the indicators that each student has. Every child in this world has various intelligences in different levels and indicators. This shows that all children, by nature, are intelligent. The difference lies in the level and indicators of intelligence. These differences are determined by various factors. One of them is the stimulation given when children learn in the learning process carried out by the teacher. The difference in intelligence among students demands a fair and existential way of thinking of educators. This research is a literature review to see more specifically the teacher's strategy in optimizing multiple intelligences in elementary schools based on research reference sources and books. Good educators are able to detect children's intelligence by observing the behavior, tendencies, interests, ways and qualities of children when reacting to the given stimulus. All indicators of intelligence can be recognized by educators to then make a profile of intelligence. Therefore, every teacher should know how to develop the intelligence of their students, by identifying each indicator of children's intelligence and realizing the importance of developing all the intelligences of their students.

This is a design research which aims to describe the learning trajectory of volume and surface area of rectangular prism by considering the involvement of the multiple intelligences-based activities within the realistic mathematics education (RME) learning activity. A total of 39 students of grade five at an elementary school in Sidoarjo, Indonesia were involved in teaching experiment phase. By collecting data through documentation, interviews, and classroom observations, the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory which was developed in pilot experiment was then revised to get a revised learning trajectory reported in this paper. Such a revised learning trajectory are the learning activities around drawing the nets of cube and cuboids through rolling activity, comparing surface are and volume of two models with different sizes, finding surface area using the constructed nets, building miniature buildings using cube unit model, predicting the number cube units in a box, constructing various models of cuboids to various sizes using particular number of cube units, rearranging a number of cube units arrangements with different layers to get different volume and surface area, and comparing the volumes of two rectangular prism made from the same rectangular model of paper. Lastly, at the ‘formal level’ students developed their informal knowledge into formal concepts of volume and surface area of rectangular prism, which in this case is cuboid and cube.

Humans are gifted by God with eight intelligences (multiple intelligences). They are: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodykinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. Adult (parent) and children also need to understand the concept of the holistic intelligence. People can start early. Children are like stories (homo fabulans) and beings who loved playing (homo ludens). So, to be able to develop intelligence to the fullest, parents need a tool that can trigger such creativity. Fairy tale is one tool that can be used to reach it. In fairy tales summarized the various aspects required in the process of development of intelligence such as language (linguistic), the storyline (the logic of the story), social sensitivity (interpersonal and intrapersonal), conflict (the rhythm), imagination (visual/spatial), movement (kinesthetic), and nature (naturalist) that can be used as a real picture or the prototype for the child to get to know aspects of intelligence they have.

Lack of critical thinking skills of elementary schools’ students was influenced by teachers’ domination in instructional activities; meanwhile students did not play independently as the learners. Theoretically, multiple intelligences based instruction is an appropriate solution. For that reason, this research aims to know the impact of multiple intelligences based instruction on students' critical thinking skills. The research was conducted at Al-Amanah and Buahati Islamic Elementary Schools by using a quantitative approach with case study method. Data collected through critical thinking tests was analyzed by using independent sample t-test to examine the impact of instruction on students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that the implementation of multiple intelligences based intruction had significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills. From the finding, some recommendations are given as follows: 1) The teacher’s role is not only for transferring knowledge based on his/her competencies but also students’ characteristics reflecting their instruction styles; and 2) for further researcher, it is suggested to investigate this issues more specifically and comprehensively.

The education system in Indonesia emphasize on academic intelligence, which includes only two or three aspects, more than on the other aspects of intelligence. For that reason, many children who are not good at academic intelligence, but have good potentials in other aspects of intelligence, do not develop optimally. They are often considered and labeled as "stupid children" by the existing system. This phenomenon is on the contrary to the theory of multiple intelligences proposed by Howard Gardner, who argues that intelligence is the ability to solve various problems in life and produce products or services that are useful in various aspects of life. Human intelligence is a combination of various general and specific abilities. This theory is different from the concept of IQ (intelligence quotient) that involves only language skills, mathematical, and spatial logics. According to Gardner, there are nine aspects of intelligence and its potential indicators to be developed by each child born without a brain defect. What Gardner suggested can be considered as a starting point to a perspective that every child has a unique individual intelligence. Parents have to treat and educate their children proportionally and equitably. This treatment will lead to a pattern of education that is friendly to the brain and to the plurality of children’s potential. More than the above points, the notion that multiple intelligences do not just come from the brain needs to be followed. Humans actually have different immaterial (spiritual) aspects that do not refer to brain functions. The belief in spiritual aspects and its potentials means that human beings have various capacities and they differ from physical capacities. This is what needs to be addressed from the perspective of education today. The philosophy and perspective on education of the educators, education stakeholders, and especially parents, are the first major issue to be addressed. With this step, every educational activity and communication within the family is expected to develop every aspect of children's intelligence, especially the spiritual intelligence.
