Nowadays, adaptation drama that taken from abroad is currently one of the trends in the production of local drama. Therefore, this study aims to see how the portrayal of Islam is reflected in the adaptation drama from South Korea. From there, the researcher will be able to determine whether if there is any cross cultural presence in the adaptation drama. In addition, the method used for this study was through a qualitative approach using textual analysis of the drama My Coffee Prince that was adapted from the popular Korean series The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince. The results show that although this drama is an adaptation drama but the elements of Islam are still prominently and clearly displayed to the public. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The growing Muslim population around the world has led to an increase in demand for Halal products such as cosmetic. Previously, the cosmetics business was dominated by non-halal cosmetic enterprises, as many products contained pig-derived substances, which are forbidden in Islam. In 2012, Charms Skincare Cosmetics, a Malaysian cosmetic brand, was established with a focus on producing Halal-certified products. Thus, the aim of the study is to demonstrate that the seven products from the brand are free from porcine DNA, following halal verification. All the cosmetic products were isolated using the Agilent Porcine Detection Kit, and the amplification was done by the real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method targeting porcine-specific DNA sequences from the Cytochrome b region. The result showed no amplification of the Cytb gene in gel visualization and was supported by the absence of porcine DNA using RT-PCR from all seven Charms cosmetic products, representing the absence of any pig derivative substances. These findings indicate that the products comply with Islamic requirements, and the PCR method proves to be a sensitive and reliable approach for the detection of porcine DNA in halal authentication processes.

Global emission of gases has increased rapidly due to higher combustion of fossil fuels arising from increasing world population which has led to a greater number of manufacturing industries and ‘on-road vehicle (ORV)’ users. Researchers have attributed cause of global warming to gases emissions which correspondingly lead to climate change with devastating repercussions. Currently, climate change is a general issue and world leaders have been tasked to cut down emissions of gases that directly affect the ecosystem and influence climate change. Biodiesel which is an alternative to fossil fuels face many challenges and to tackle some limitations with biodiesel researchers blends biodiesels in various proportional ratio to diesel fuel. This paper, therefore, concentrates on reviewing the use of additives specifically nano-additives by researchers recently to alter and boost desired characteristics in diesel-biodiesel fuel; it also examines the synthesis of nano-additives; challenges, and advances made. This paper further analysed, reviewed, and compared recent results from nano-additive use with respect to emissions, fuel consumption, brake thermal efficiency, and engine power, establishes the merits and demerits of diverse nano-additives, and finally presents a conclusive opinion on nano-additive usage with diesel fuels in diesel engines.
