Preeclampsia is a serious medical problem and has a high level of complexity. Preeclampsia is hypertension that occurs after 20 weeks of pregnancy accompanied by proteinuria, while eclampsia is preeclampsia accompanied by convulsions and/or coma. Hypertension in pregnancy is still a fairly high cause of maternal death. Preeclampsia affects approximately 2% to 8% of pregnanc ies worldwide. Hypertension in pregnancy is the first cause of death in Indonesia at 33%. With the still high rate of preeclampsia in Indonesia and globally, this research aims to determine the relationship between the socio-economic status of pregnant women and the incidence of preeclampsia and eclampsia. This research uses the Literature Review method, carried out by collecting data using journal searches on Google Scholar, PubMed, Gale and other literature search access related to the research topic. The results of the literature review analysis show that there is a correlation between socio-economic status factors of pregnant women, namely educational level factors, employment factors, and family economic status factors with the incidence of preeclampsia/eclampsia, and the incidence tends to increase in mothers with low educational levels. working mothers, and mothers with low family economic status. The conclusion of this literature review study was that there is a correlation between socio-economic status factors of pregnant women and the incidence of preeclampsia/eclampsia. So reproductive health education in the community needs to be further improved so that every individual is aware and has knowledge about the importance of knowing the dangers of preeclampsia/eclampsia and that the implementation of Antenatal Care can run regularly.
