- Abstract
Indonesia is the country with the second most number of TB cases in the world with an incidence of 397,377 cases in 2021. One of the highest incidences of TB came from Indramayu Regency, West Java, with 3,142 cases recorded (Dinkes Provinsi Jawa Barat, 2021). Giving OAT as a treatment for TB requires paying attention to several things, including treatment compliance (Kemkes, 2020). The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between compliance and the effectiveness of OAT use and to determine the relationship between compliance and effectiveness with community sociodemographics. The population of this study was TB patients at the Tugu Primary Health Center and Cikedung Primary Health Center, Indramayu Regency who underwent treatment from September 2023 to March 2024. The research method used was an observational descriptive method with retrospective and prospective data collection based on TB patient treatment cards. Data was taken by filling in the MMAS-8 questionnaire and effectiveness data was taken by recording sputum re-examinations from the SITB (Tuberculosis Information System) software. Data analysis using the Chi square test consists of: compliance analysis, effectiveness analysis, the relationship between compliance and effectiveness and the relationship between compliance and effectiveness based on the respondent's sociodemographic data. The results of research from 30 respondents showed that the level of compliance with TB drug use was 83.3%, including a high level of compliance, the effectiveness of TB drug use was 93%, there was a relationship between compliance and the effectiveness of TB drug use and there was no relationship between compliance and the effectiveness of TB drug use based on sociodemographic data of the population.
