The existing literature on political scandals predominantly focuses on their detrimental effects on society at large. This paper aims to offer an alternative perspective, arguing that political scandals can lead to positive change. It does so by examining the case of Japan’s ruling party, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its ties to the controversial religious organization, the Unification Church (UC). These ties were brought into public attention, following the assassination of the former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe. Drawing on the framework of scandal mediation process (Prusa, 2010), this paper defines scandal as a form of communication between the elite and the masses, that facilitated by the media. By consulting data from newspapers and government reports, this paper investigates the progression of the scandal. It highlights how the communication unfolded during the progression of the scandal through public pressure, intense media coverage, public apologies by members of the political elites, and attempts to mitigate the damage. Moreover, this paper argues that the swift response from the government, notably the passing of anti-malicious donation law, shows that a political scandal can positively impact the functioning of social order. Focusing on how and under what circumstance a political scandal may have a positive impact introduces a richer nuance to the discussion of Japanese political scandals as demonstrated by these findings.

Upaya sosialisasi sejarah Indonesia kepada siswa-siswi Sekolah Dasar di Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, Sumatra Barat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan sejarah Indonesia kepada siswa-siswi daerah ini, mulai dari masa penjajahan hingga masa kemerdekaan Indonesia untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mereka akan perkembangan bangsa Indonesia. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah model cerita, kuis dan poster melalui pendekatan etis dan estetis. Upaya pengenalan ditujukan kepada siswa-siswi Sekolah Dasar Negeri 39 Pasar Gompong dan Sekolah Dasar Negeri 18 Tebing Tinggi, Nagari Kambang Barat, Kecamatan Lengayang, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, Sumatra Barat. Pengenalan sejarah Indonesia ini sangat penting mengingat siswa sekolah dasar merupakan generasi penerus yang hendaknya tahu akan sejarah bangsanya sendiri. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap pertama, pengabdi menjajaki kesediaan kedua SD diatas untuk menjadi sekolah mitra. Pada tahap kedua, kami melaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi pentingnya pembelajaran sejarah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap perjuangan bangsa ini di kedua sekolah tersebut dengan menyampaikan materi sejarah Indonesia di kelas 4 dan 6. Selama kegiatan dilaksanakan, siswa-siswi perserta terlihat bersemangat untuk mengikuti kegiatan pengenalan sejarah Indonesia, mulai dari pengenalan, pelaksanaan dan di akhiri dengan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswi bisa memahami perkembangan bangsa Indonesia melalui sejarah dan mampu memaknai peran sejarah Indonesia dalam penanaman nilai kebangsaan, khususnya perjuangan pahlawan nasional Indonesia.

Arabic language learning has a long history in Indonesia, starting from the 19th century. This article aimed to provide a comprehensive historical overview of the development of Arabic language learning in Indonesia from the 19th century to the 21st century. A qualitative approach and the historical review method with quasi descriptive research model were applied. This article examined the evolution of teaching methods, curriculum and media used in Arabic language learning. In this research, the primary sources were the official reports, curriculum, textbooks, journals, and historical records, as well as secondary sources such as academic literature and research publications. This article traced the shifts and transformations in Arabic language teaching practices in Indonesia. Through content analysis and historical interpretation, key milestones, trends and factors were identified which shaped the trajectory of Arabic language learning over the past three centuries. The findings revealed diverse influences, ranging from the traditional Islamic education system to modern learning models that keep up with the times. This article highlighted the unique challenges and adaptations that have characterized the development of Arabic language learning in Indonesia. By offering a historical perspective on the evolution of Arabic language learning methods and approaches, this article contributed to a deeper understanding of the current state of Arabic language education in Indonesia. The insights gained from this research could inform the future strategies and policies aimed at improving the quality and effectiveness of Arabic language learning and preserving the nation's cultural and linguistic heritage.

This research aims to recount the long history of Lebong Tandai Village, which is known as "Little Batavia". This village, which is located in Napal Putih District, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province, has a long history dating back to the British colonial period in Bengkulu, the Dutch colonial period, the Japanese occupation period, until the era of Indonesian independence. This research will examine the story of Lebong Tandai during the Second Dutch Military Aggression, the PRRI Rebellion Period, the PT era. Lusang Mining, to its current condition. The method used is a combination method: literature and field. Data were collected from written materials and interviews. The research is descriptive in nature and uses a historical approach to analyze data sources related to Lebong Tandai Village. The results of this research show that Bengkulu Province, especially Lebong Tandai Village, has a long and fascinating history. The historical carvings in Lebong Tandai must be seen and looked after again, especially by the Indonesian people, so that this historical wealth can be enjoyed by posterity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The history of Indonesian traditional architecture has not yet addressed the history of architecture itself; instead, it has only addressed national and regional universal history as a backdrop or ancestry. Furthermore, the sources mainly relied on Western paradigm-adhering written documents and literature rather than empirical sources from a specific cultural community, particularly oral traditions. As a result, the significance of historical context for the evolution of Indonesian architecture has diminished somewhat. Indeed, anthropology, archaeology, and history have long used ethnohistory as a research methodology. Furthermore, traditional architecture has been mentioned in these studies. How does one go about researching the history of traditional architecture using ethnohistory? The objectives of this research are to identify research trends on this topic as well as to discover novelty as a new direction for future studies. This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) method to descriptively analyze a big dataset and examine the content of primary data selected from publications between 2013 and 2023. It indicates how very promising the research trend is for architecture science. Furthermore, this study develops three research focuses, approaches, implications and constraints in light of the data gathered and examined.

This study aims to examine historical values in Tasaro GK's novel Muhammad Man Holding Rain by using historical research and a qualitative approach. Data collection using analysis and interview techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out by reading the main research source, namely the historical novel Muhammad The Man Holding the Rain, then describing and drawing conclusions. The interview technique was carried out with the writer of the novel Muhammad Man Holding the Rain, namely Tasaro GK. The data in this study are in the form of excerpts from novels that contain historical elements. The results of this study indicate the existence of historical data in his authorship. The relevance of the use of literature and history can be found in several parts of this novel, by using fictional characters so that the storyline becomes dynamic. The implication of using the novel Muhammad's Man Holding the Rain in understanding sirah nabawiyah requires a deep interpretation of every event in the novel.

This article delves into the history and architecture of the Penampaan Mosque situated in Penampaan Village, Blangkejeren Subdistrict, Gayo Lues Regency. The Penampaan Asal Mosque, located in Penampaan Village, Blangkejeren District, Gayo Lues Regency, stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage and religious ethos of the local populace. Established in 815 AH/1412 AD, the mosque boasts unique traditional architecture, featuring walls crafted from a blend of soil and husks, and roofs adorned with nipah leaves, symbolizing serenity, and elegance. Serving as a hub for religious and communal gatherings, the Penampaan Asal Mosque has been a witness to the Islamic journey in the Gayo Lues region. Its enduring presence underscores the significance of safeguarding cultural legacies and religious principles. This study contributes to the understanding of local history and architectural heritage preservation efforts.

This research aims to determine the history of the Cek Bocek indigenous community in Sumbawa and the fundamental differences between the general community in Sumbawa. This research uses the historical method. In this case, all documents considered important in the Cek Bocek traditional community will be used as one discussion narrated by taking the essence or main points. The existence of the Cek Bocek traditional community in Sumbawa began in 1492, and in 1512, the form of government of the Selesek chiefdom led by Dewa Datu Awan Maskuing began. The fundamental difference between the Cek Bocek Selesek Reen Sury indigenous community and other communities in Sumbawa lies in the language used, called the Berco language. The Cek Bocek indigenous communities have traditional institutions and mechanisms for meeting meetings, which are referred to as Rapulun Adat and are led by one traditional leader as tribal head, and have a jointly protected customary area which is outlined in a participatory map approved by the village government, and has different traditional rituals such as NABAR (Tulak Bala), Pungka Inu (customary forest welfare), zakat alms every post-harvest season, Enang Uran (asking for rain) in Tiu Mareng. Also, customary law rules and property are left behind to maintain ancestral traditions

Students' motivation during history learning processes in the classroom is influenced, among other factors, by teachers' innovation in teaching. However, there are still teachers who lack innovation, resulting in decreased motivation for students to learn history. This study aims to develop and assess the feasibility of a product in the form of multimedia-based learning videos on the topic of Islamic Maritime Kingdoms, as well as to analyze its effectiveness in increasing the learning motivation of Grade XI Social Science students. The type of research used was research and development with ADDIE design. This study involved 2 experts, 2 teachers, and 75 students divided into 15 students for small-scale trials and 60 students for large-scale trials and extensive testing. Data collection was done through questionnaires using survey techniques and interviews. Data analysis techniques included quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis, as well as descriptive statistics. The research results indicated that the product developed by the researcher was feasible for use as a learning media. Additionally, multimedia-based learning videos were also effective in increasing students' motivation to learn history.

This article describes the implementation of differentiated learning in history subjects at SMAN 23 Tangerang Regency. This research method uses qualitative methods, with a single case study strategy. The research method in this study is a qualitative method. The validity of the data used in this research uses triangulation of data sources and methods. The data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observation and document study. Research results: First, the history teacher's learning planning has prepared and implemented a history module that uses a differentiated learning approach. Second, implementation of learning, history teachers apply learning in the form of differentiation of content, processes and products for material on ancestral origins, four theories of ancestral origins, and their relationship to current Indonesian society. Third, learning evaluation, teachers use assessments based on cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Fourth, the impact of differentiated learning in history subjects is improving critical and creative thinking skills in history learning. Fifth, the obstacles experienced are inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and also insufficient learning time.

The relationship between science and humans is close. Philosophically, there are differences in education between Islamic and Western education. Islamic education sees students as creatures of Allah and society who have potential in accordance with their nature, while Western education sees students as free individuals with their potential. The aim of this research is to determine the history of the development of the philosophy of science in Islam and its reasoning. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a historical approach. Data was collected through literature research and other data sources from books and other relevant documents. The research results are presented in the form of a story that is easy to understand using narrative analysis techniques. Attempts to translate Greek books into Arabic began the development of Islamic philosophy of science. Furthermore, Islam has a special epistemology for acquiring knowledge, which consists of three modes of thinking: Bayani, Burhani, and Irfani. Bayani's way of thinking is textual, while Irfani's is Sufi.

Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine the relationship between interest and learning outcomes in class X history subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Sindue. Methodology: This type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study was class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Sindue, totaling 140 people, while the sample was 35 people. Data collection techniques use observation techniques, questionnaires and test questions. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis and inferential analysis . The hypothesis test used in this research is the t test . . Main Findings: Product moment calculation results obtained a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.781 or 7.177%. When referring to the interpretation of correlation, the correlation coefficient is in the category 0.600 - 0.799 (strong). Novelty/Originality of this study: this research creates new knowledge by revealing the relationship between interest and learning outcomes in history subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Sindue, contributing to the understanding of the factors that influence student academic achievement. This can provide readers with insight into the extent to which students' interests can influence their learning outcomes in history subjects.

Purpose of the study: This research aims to address the low student interest and engagement in the history learning subjects of General Soedirman’s Guerrilla War by developing a digital comic-based history learning media and examining its effectiveness in enhancing the student learning motivation and achievement. Methodology: The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method adapted from the ADDIE development design. The research subjects are 20 students in senior high school in Surakarta and Pakistan. The data collection technique is a test. Main Findings: The research data shows that the digital comic-based history learning media of General Soedirman’s Guerrilla War is effective and suitable for use. The validation by material experts shows that the learning media material has a very good quality with an average score of 89.6%. The media validation results show that the learning media is very good and suitable for application in the learning process with an average score of 84.6%. The results of the One-to-one Test, Small Group Test, and Field Test show that the learning media can improve the student learning motivation and achievement with an average score of 71.4%, 74.2%, and 78.8%, respectively, exceeding the expected outcome of 70%. Novelty/Originality of this study: The research novelty to develop a digital comic-based history learning media of General Soedirman’s Guerrilla War, which is a significant historical event in Indonesia. The research has implications for the improvement of the history curriculum and the student learning interest and engagement in history subjects.”
