The markedness hypothesis of repair operations In this paper, using conversation analysis, I propose a model describing the technology of four repair operations, namely, recycling, replacement, insertion, and aborting relative to each other on the basis that they inherently halt the progressivity of the current turn-at-talk. As violating the preference for progressivity is a marked usage, interpreting the property of halting progressivity as a system of binary features in the case of the four repair operations enables us to apply the theory of markedness to describe the technology of the repair operations relative to each other. Testing the model has been possible only in an indirect way by setting up a sub-hypothesis. I have argued that not only their functions but also their degree of markedness plays a role in the selection of repair operations employed in carrying out the same action. I have tested the sub-hypothesis on a Hungarian corpus. The results support the hypothesis. A tanulmány a konverzációelemzés elméleti keretében négy javítási művelet, az ismétlés, a beszúrás, a csere és a törlés technológiáját hasonlítja össze kísérletet téve egy olyan modell létrehozására, amely a javítási műveletek jelöltségét feltételezi. Ennek alapja, hogy a spontán társalgások során alkalmazott javítási jelenségek felfüggesztik a folyamatban levő forduló, és ezáltal a folyamatban levő cselekvés előrehaladását. Mivel a progresszivitás fenntartása általános preferencia a társalgásban, megszakítása jelölt nyelvhasználatot eredményez, amelyet a négy művelet esetében három bináris jegy rendszereként értelmezhetünk (retrospektivitás, redundancia, nem megfelelő szegmentum). A modell tesztelése egy magyar nyelvű korpuszon történt egy szub-hipotézis segítségével, amelynek lényege, hogy az egyazon cselekvés során alkalmazott javítási műveletek kiválasztásában funkcióik mellett jelöltségük mértéke is szerepet játszik. A tesztelés eredménye támogatja a hipotézist.

This paper explores the possible role of the schwa-like sound öö in turn-taking in Hungarian conversations within a novel, conversation analytic and pragmatic framework. It is attempted to distinguish between a hesitation and a discourse organising function of the phenomenon, the latter related to the structural positions of öö in the conversation. With an inductive qualitative method all the occurrences of öö are examined in the corpus, and five characteristic structural positions are identified where by using öö speakers can influence the operation of turn-taking, or express their attitudes towards its rules. These positions can be at or before transition-relevance places. The analysis shows that öö can have a role in the application of all the three turn-taking rules (cf. Sacks et al., 1974). Discourse markers independent of the syntactic structure of the utterance can be non-lexical and may concern the sequential structure of the conversation (Fischer, 2006). This group of discourse markers involves the items that control the turn-taking system or other aspects of conversation management. Based on this, it is argued that the öö-s influencing turn-taking or express an attitude towards the rules of turn-taking can be regarded as discourse markers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We aim to explore the nature of data analysis in the investigation of talk-in-interaction. On the basis of a case study on the phenomenon of repair, we argue that even in a traditionally corpus-based field like conversation analysis, the source of corpus data is of an inherently integrated nature. The actual research practice shows that the methodology of conversation analysis cannot be clearly delimited but has fuzzy boundaries. In order to be able to use occurrences found in corpora as data, corpus as data source should be complemented with further pieces of information from other data sources, for instance, the researcher's intuition, the results of earlier investigation, the theoretical framework we work in, and inferences. A különböző labdajátékok technikai hátterét az alsó végtag szempontjából a törzs és végtag izmainak összehangolt működése biztosítja. A felületes és mély hasizmok aktivitása a mozgó (rúgó, ugró végtag), valamint a támaszkodó végtag gyorsító, fékező és stabilizáló funkcióját biztosítja. A sérülés prevenció egyik alapeleme a stabilizátorok működése. Az állapotfelmérés során alkalmazott standard tesztek lehetővé teszik a játékosok fizikális kondíciójának után követését és a célzott intervenciós program tervezését. A kutatási program célja, a labdajátékosok – kosárlabdázó, vízilabdázó, labdarugó – törzs és alsó végtag izmainak stabilizáló funkciójának mérése, a három csoport összehasonlítása a különböző technikai háttér ismeretében, valamint a célcsoportok statisztikai összehasonlítása, elemzése. A célcsoportjaink az U16-os vízilabdás, kosaras és labdarugó versenyjátékosok, 15 fő csoportonként. Mozgásszervi összehasonlító vizsgálatot végzünk célzottan a törzs és alsóvégtagi stabilitásra kiterjedő vizsgálatokkal, speciális tesztek segítségével. Nemzetközileg is alkalmazott standard tesztek: Single leg squat teszt (sec.), Single leg squat on TOGU teszt (sec.), Single leg wall-sit teszt (sec.) Single leg wall-sit with ball (sec.) Single leg bridge (sec.) Feltételezzük, hogy a standard tesztek különböző eredményeket adnak. Az eredmények ismeretében következtethetünk, hogy mely terület, izom szinergizmus igényel fejlesztést az adott sportágban. További célok egy intervenciós program kidolgozása és megtartása, majd az utána következő ismételt állapotfelmérés, amelyből statisztikai elemzést végzünk. Az eredményeket és a technikai hátteret figyelembe véve pedig a tornaprogram hatékonyságának megállapítása, hogy egy funkcionális szemléletmódra alapozott tornaprogram milyen mértékben befolyásolja a törzs és alsó végtag szinergista funkcióját a meghatározott tesztpozíciókban.
