Four (4) goat mandibles were used. Mandibular incisors (n=32) were subjected to identical instumentation and then divided in two groups. Teeth of group A were tested within physical sockets, whereas teeth of group B were tested in artificial periodontium Obturation was performed mechanically and obturation load was constantly recoreled. There was no statistical difference between groups regarding fracture load or plane fracture. Inability of fracture load to reveal crucial information about the phenomenon was evident.
