Abstract

Die vorliegende Studie beschreibt geschlechts- und medienspezifische Effekte bei der Bestimmung von Pflanzen. Das Ziel bestand darin, explorativ zu untersuchen, welche Auswirkungen die Arbeit mit einer Online-Lernumgebung im Gegensatz zu bisherigen Bestimmungsbüchern auf die Prozesse in gemischt-geschlechtlichen Dyaden hat. Hierzu wurden vorrangig die Anzahlen medien- und pflanzenbezogener Aktionen der Probanden untersucht. Generell zeigt die Studie, dass keine schwerwiegenden geschlechtsspezifischen Effekte zu erwarten sind. Allerdings muss bei der Implementierung der Lernumgebung darauf geachtet werden, dass keine Rollendifferenzierung derart entsteht, dass innerhalb der Lerndyaden ein Proband den Computer bedient und der andere die Pflanze untersucht. Die Einstellung der Probanden gegenüber der neuen Lernumgebung war positiv, so dass von Seiten der Studenten keine Akzeptanzprobleme bezüglich der Implementierung in die Kurse zu erwarten sind.

Abstract

The aspiration of a foreign body is a high-risk event in the life of an infant or toddler, which needs fast clinical diagnosis and therapy. If the respiratory tract is massively obstructed, the aspiration can be fatal, as shown in the case of an 18-month-old child. The little boy choked on a fragment of a hazelnut shell. Besides radiography and bronchoscopy, a CT scan can be of special value to visualize the foreign body. Based on the data obtained, a virtual bronchoscopy can be calculated. Compared with conventional radiography, the advantages of computed tomography are better image quality, higher indicative value and the possibility to exactly localize the foreign body in the respiratory tract. In the presented case, the nutshell could be visualized in the larynx before autopsy.

Originating from silybin, a phenylchromanone from Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn., a dimer -- disilybin -- was prepared. Disilybin exhibits a phalloidin antagonistic activity at least 10 times that of silybin with regards to a dose of the same weight.

Abstract

The importance of 15N as tracer in medical research is increasing. Since 1965 many results were obtained in cooperation of surgeons (Surgical clinic of Karl-Marx-University; Bezirkskrankenhaus St. Georg, Leipzig) and coworkers of Central Institute of Isotope and Radiation research. Using 3 test models (15N-labelled amino acid solution, permanent infused; 15N-labelled glycine, given as one single dose; 15N-labelled casein, oral given) healthy persons, patients in stress condition and after gastric operations and rats after performing several types of gastric operations were studied. Possibilities of calculations with mathematical models are shown.
