NAGORNO-Karabakh Conflict , *ROLE conflict , *INTERNATIONAL security , *REVOLUTIONS , *PRIME ministers - Abstract
The article "Armenia without Security Guarantees" reports on the decision of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to detach from Russia and approach the West without having a new security guarantee. Relations with Russia have cooled since the "Velvet Revolution" of 2018, and Pashinyan has opposed the former government elite. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan has equipped its army with Turkish and Israeli drones and recaptured the majority of Nagorno-Karabakh in the 2020 war. In October 2022, Pashinyan recognized the borders of Azerbaijan and considered withdrawing from the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Armenia is also distancing itself from Russia and approaching the EU and the US. The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is threatening as Azerbaijan considers the territory its historical land. Europe's role in this conflict is ambivalent, as the EU tries to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan while minimizing Russia's influence. Pashinyan has lost the game over Karabakh and is facing the loss of Syunik as well. [Extracted from the article]

RUSSIAN invasion of Ukraine, 2022- , *WAR , *ROLE conflict , *INTERNATIONAL relations , *COOPERATION , *REFUGEES - Abstract
The article "Quo vadis Europe? Polish engagement against the Russo-Ukrainian war" deals with Poland's active role in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Poland has increased its military buildup due to its geographical proximity to Ukraine. The article also discusses the different perceptions and interpretations of the war by Russia, Poland, and Ukraine. Furthermore, it presents the positions of the EU and various German parties on the conflict. Poland pursues a foreign policy aimed at containing Russia's power ambitions, while Germany advocates for cooperation with Russia. Poland has a difficult relationship with Ukraine, although it currently provides the most humanitarian support for Ukrainian refugees. The country is preparing for war and is calling for a presence of NATO and US troops on its eastern border. The European Union is divided regarding the Ukrainian war, but all EU member states want the war to be ended as soon as possible. [Extracted from the article]

NATIONAL socialism , *ROLE conflict , *HISTORIOGRAPHY , *FEMALES , *WIVES , *MARITAL status - Abstract
The article "More than just wives - female resistance against National Socialism" by Juliane Krause deals with the topic of female resistance against National Socialism. Although wives played an important role in the resistance, they were often overlooked due to their marital status and internal role conflicts. Women were actively involved in the resistance and contributed to the establishment of resistance groups. Nevertheless, they are often portrayed as silent supporting characters in historiography. The article discusses the role of women in the resistance and raises the question of whether their support can be considered as ideological resistance. It emphasizes that the contribution of women is often overlooked and that they have always been and still are actors in the resistance. [Extracted from the article]

PROMISES , *NATIONAL interest , *INTERNATIONAL relations , *ROLE conflict ,CHINA-United States relations - Abstract
In the book "National Interests: Guidance for German and European Politics in Times of Global Upheaval" by Klaus von Dohnanyi, the question of Germany's and Europe's national interests in a changing world is addressed. Von Dohnanyi argues that Germany and Europe are not sovereign in matters of security and foreign policy, and that the United States sets the direction without necessarily considering European interests. He advocates for Germany and Europe to take a moderating role in the dangerous policies of the United States in Asia and to keep Europe as far as possible out of American conflicts. Von Dohnanyi also emphasizes the importance of cooperation with Russia and warns that Europe could lose Russia to China. He rejects the idea that Europe could assist the United States in containing China in Asia and instead emphasizes the importance of economic relations as a means for dialogue. The book also addresses the question of NATO enlargement to the East and argues that there was a promise not to expand NATO to the East, although this is disputed by some authors. Von Dohnanyi advocates for a sovereign and capable European Union, but rejects a European federal state. [Extracted from the article]

The waning influence of Christianity in the United Kingdom’s armed forces since 1960 and the growing ignorance of personnel who have ties to a particular denomination, gave rise to a new assessment of the military chaplain in a modern and postmodern context. This article gives an overview of the practice during the two world wars and after the 1960s. It also gives an overview of the debate on the current role of the military chaplain, especially the beliefs of Herspring, Zahn, Coleman and McCormack, and eventually set up a role model from a Free Church perspective. It is shown that an operating model that is only defined in pastoral terms does not satisfy. The pastoral and spiritual definition, in terms of a liminal serving as an alternative, is suggested because it frees the chaplain to act more independent and also describes the best practice that has always prevailed in the British army.

GERMAN Unification, 1990 , *ROLE conflict , *COLLATERAL security , *PROMISES , *RESPONSIBILITY , *POLITICIANS - Abstract
The article "Russia's Interests and German Responsibility" deals with the conflict between Russia and NATO that arose in 1990. Due to German reunification, Germany bears a special responsibility in this conflict. It is discussed whether NATO made a promise not to expand to the East. Although there is no contractual fixation, there are political promises made by German politicians, especially former Foreign Minister Genscher. Ukraine plays a central role in this conflict as both the West and Russia are interested in the country's geostrategic position. The question is raised whether the US and its NATO allies will respect Russia's security interests and whether German politics will remember the year 1990. An agreement between NATO and Russia would be the best chance for Ukraine to emerge from its ongoing crisis. [Extracted from the article]

Role stressors are situations that cause stress experienced people working within an organization. Roles stressors generally are accepted in the literature by two factors; role ambiguity and role conflict. Role ambiguity is caused by a lack of knowledge regarding work and role conflict arises from the fact that the person faces expectations that are incompatible with each other. On the other hand burnout are situations where working with people face to face emerging occupations and people often live in a state of exhaustion. If a person faces with role conflict or role ambiguity he or she can feel more burnout is the main problem of this study. To analyze this problem data was collected from 218 nurses via questionnaire. The data has analyzed and it has found that role ambiguity and also role conflict effect burnout syndrome. Furthermore, it has found role ambiguity and role conflict effect some sub dimensions of burnout. But these effect become different on sub dimensions of burnout.

International research shows negative psychological and physical effects on nurses’ health when they deal with deaths of babies during pregnancy or the first year of life as well as with bereaved parents. Because of worldwide varying systems of nursing education those results cannot be generalized. Therefore, an assessment of the experiences of Austrian nurses is necessary. Implications for basic, further and advanced nursing training should be derived from the findings. In this qualitative empirical examination twelve narrative interviews with nurses working in clinical gynecological-obstetrical and neonatological departments were conducted. The data was structured with the help of the software MAXQDA and analyzed according to the Grounded Theory. Three categories and the key category “being torn” were elaborated. Following the coding paradigm by Strauss and Corbin (1996) it was embedded into a model. The results show that nurses are confronted with a variety of conflicting expectations associated with their different social roles alongside with the impact of their working field. The nurses show symptoms of compassion fatigue and express the need for specific educational interventions. In conclusion there is a demand for sensibilization regarding the topic of babies’ deaths in the field of gynecology, obstetrics and neonatology beginning with basic nursing training. Furthermore, employers should recognize and address the nurse’s needs as well as provide continuous and professionally designed programs for further and advanced education. A special focus should hereby be placed on professional, social communication and self-competences needed in situations of crisis as well as in bereavement and terminal care. vorgelegt von: Theresa Maria Binder Masterarbeit Wien, FH Campus Wien 2021

This article draws on selected findings from a study which explored the conflicts and tensions inherent in the role of UK National Health Service (NHS) complaints managers. It is argued that balancing loyalties to the complained about health service organisation against the needs of complainants leads to an inherent contradiction in the role of the complaints manager. This proposition is supported by theoretical literature on complaints handlers, administrators and social actors drawn from three social science disciplines: socio-legal studies, public administration and sociology/social psychology. The study was conducted between 1999 and 2002 in the London/South East region of the UK and uses a qualitative approach. It is based on in-depth telephone interviews recorded with thirty NHS complaints managers. The focus here is on the interviews conducted with twenty-one of these complaints managers (those complaints managers who worked in NHS hospitals as opposed to the primary care sector). Three key areas emerged as the principal findings of the research: 1. The complaints manager's role encompasses inherent contradictions; 2. complaints managers exhibited very different responses/reactions to the inherent contradictions in their role; 3. there were different types of complaints managers. This article focuses on the first finding, that is, the complaints manager's role encompasses inherent contradictions.

The article discusses issues surrounding working wives and mothers in Germany. Alva Myrdal and Viola Klein's book "Women's Two Roles, Home and Work" is used to provide a three-phased context to women's existence, a paradigm adopted by the German Frauenenquête (Commission on Women). Difficulties attendant to married women's employment, role conflicts, and employment re-entry are reviewed.

This paper deals with case managers' different roles and conflicts in German social services. In order to capture the diverse expectations towards case management, 16 case managers of the "Pflegebudget" project were interviewed extensively and interrogated using standardized procedures. By means of case-stories, certified case managers were asked to comment on typical conflict situations. As to determine a certain framework of possible actions, experts were asked to name essential elements of case management organization. The various studies' result is the validation by experts of the necessary elements of case management organization. Several, partly contradictory expectations, requirements and conflict resolutions, which case managers are confronted with, are described in some detail. In addition to a systematization of activity- and pressure profiles, the paper describes patterns inherent to specific personalities in order to combine them into a typology of case managers. The analysis of 283 comments on 15 case studies with dilemmas and conflicts typical for case management results in an account of the participating case managers' professional and ethical lines of argumentation. These lead to statements and recommendations in the field of organizational and personnel-related development concerning the appropriate conduct with co-workers within the different fields case management can be implemented in., Michael Monzer, Abweichender Titel laut Übersetzung der Verfasserin/des Verfassers, Klagenfurt, Alpen-Adria-Univ., Diss., 2010

(DIPF/Orig.), A female pedagogue and a male social worker act as coaches bringing back to reason lower secondary school students who are fed up with school, willing to commit acts of violence, or simply grumpy, and thus form both the dynamic and the "cool" poles of a teaching staff consisting of well-intentioned, yet rather stressed elderly male teachers and resigned, always tearful female teachers. This is the impression created by a six-part documentary on the Pommern School in Berlin-Charlottenburg shown on German television (ZDF) in 2006. The authors interpret this depiction by the media as a symptom of a general interest of the public in the future of the school and its design; the ambivalences created by the focus on social pedagogics are outlined and discussed. (DIPF/ Orig.), In this study including 16 foster families chances of intervention in educational guidance of foster parents are discussed. The analysis of foster parents' frequent subjective theories concerning problems of their foster children shows typical role conflicts between natural and foster parents. These conflicts result from the self-concept of most of the foster parents. The subjective theories reveal, that parents need more information about their foster child, more detailed knowledge about special education and more opportunities for psychic relief. The results of a questionnaire used in this study give weight to the hypothesis, that foster parents wish to fill out the role of their foster child's natural parents. They feel disturbed, when they don't reach this status because of the foster children's psychic problems or the natural family's interference. Therefore in guiding foster parents strong effort should be put on professionalization. For this purpose the author suggests a 5-phase-training- and supervision-concept. The two basic elements are: - a preparatory training before the mediation of a foster child, - a permanent intensive groupsupervision. (DIPF/ Orig.)
