Familial plasmocytoma in mother and son is documented in three cases, we can add one more. The review of the pertinent literature and our case disclose 40 reports of familial plasmocytoma. It seems that genetic factors may play a role in the pathogenesis of plasmocytoma.

It was observed that in man in the same ageing group is relatively constant the content of reticulum cells, middle and little lymphocytes in the cortex, primary and secundary follicles and medullar cords of the lymphe nodes. The age depended changes of the cell content in the lymphe node is visible in the increase of little and decrease of middle lymphocytes. The content of reticulum cells altered not during the life. The structural behaviour of the cell content is very important for the cellular immunity in man.

Clinical data and Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) findings of 20 patients suffering from a meningoradiculitis were analyzed. Most patients had a tick bite or an erythema migrans before neurological symptoms occurred. All suffered from severe radicular pain. Predominant neurological symptoms were peripheral palsies of the facial nerve followed by motor paresis of the trunk and the extremities of mostly asymmetric distribution. Predominant CSF alterations were a long lasting inflammatory cellular reaction and an impairment of the blood-CSF barrier. In contrast to the CSF of 17 patients suffering from a polyradiculitis Guillain Barré with a similar total protein content, an intrathecal immunoglobulin IgG synthesis could be confirmed for the majority of the patients. CSF finding would be compatible to a viral as well as a borrelia etiology.

We report on a 19-year-old girl suffering from cutaneous manifestation of sinus histiocytosis associated with massive lymphadenopathy (SHML) (Rosai-Dorfman syndrome); as SHML had first appeared at her 7th month of life, the disease had taken an uncommonly long period of time. At the age of 15, cutaneous manifestations developed on cheeks and left upper arm which histologically showed the same infiltrate as affected lymph nodes usually do in SHML. So far, participation of the cutaneous system in SHML has been observed in only 12 cases.

Long term results show that the behaviour of vocal cord cancer of the same size and undergoing the same therapy may vary widely. The biological behaviour of the tumour was assessed by well defined histopathological criteria of the malignancy evaluated by subserial sections on 49 previously untreated vocal cord carcinomas pT2-T4. Two parameters were related to the tumour cell population: differentiation and polymorphism, as well as the structure and margins of the tumour. Two parameters were related to the tumour-host relationship: vascular and perineural invasion and the cellular response of the host. Each parameter was given a three point score. The resulting malignancy index (total score = 10) gave a significant prediction of prognosis: patients with or without metastasis can be separated, high risk patients can be recognised early and decisions regarding treatment and follow up may be planned.
