The article reports that reticulocytes as adolescent erythrocytes have a high meaningfulness diagnostic. It notes that it is advisable to group the available examination methods into five diagnostic levels and to group them according to the principle. It adds that before the basic work of Rudolf Virchow and Paul Ehrlich based the scientifically oriented assessment of pathological changes alone the exact questioning, the careful physical examination and follow-up.

In 1911 the 4th volume of the book'Histological and histopathological articles on the cerebral cortex with special attention to the pathological anatomy of mental diseases' was produced by the editor Alzheimer. One of the chapters is entitled'The PERUSINI cases'. In honour of Perusini's achievement the term Alzheimer's disease is also known as'La malattia di Alzheimer-Perusini' (The disease of Alzheimer-Perusini). This article gives a review of the scientific historical context of neurobiological research at the beginning of the twentieth century. It describes Perusini's career in science, his period at Alzheimer's laboratory and demonstrates Perusini's scientific merits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Scoliosis can be considered as one of the classical orthopedic diseases of the spine. The history of orthopedics is closely connected to the development of the therapy of scoliosis. In the eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth centuries the therapy of scoliosis was mainly a conservative corrective orthopedic treatment with a variety of corset forms and extension bed treatment. In the middle of the nineteenth century physiotherapy (movement therapy) became established as an supplementary active treatment. The first operations for treatment of scoliosis were carried out in 1839. The real success with surgical procedures for improvement in corrective options was connected to the introduction of metal spinal implants in the early 1960s.
