Baco Blanc is the grape variety specific to the wine spirit Armagnac. A hybrid vine with good tolerance, particularly to Botrytis cinerea, its berries have an atypical chemical composition. Specifically, they have a high concentration of the anti-fungal compound eugenol. This research demonstrates the effectiveness of eugenol concentrations against B. cinerea and their relationship to the ripeness of Baco Blanc This study explores the intra-varietal diversity of B. cinerea tolerance, a potential source of adaptation to environmental and climate issues.

Similar to the forestry industry, the winegrowing sector has experienced a grapevine decline phenomenon over the last twenty years, so that decline is now considered an increasingly widespread problem in many vineyards across the world (De la Fuente et al., 2016). In this work, the relationships between yield, mortality and vegetative vigour were investigated, in both temporal and spatial terms, to identify early diagnosis indicators of vine decline.

Botrytis bunch rot (BBR) is a major disease occurring in vineyards worldwide. Its control, still largely based on synthetic fungicide sprayings at pre-determined intervals, often leads to residues in grapes and wines that may negatively affect the environment and/or human health. To rationalise BBR management, early disease risk indicators were developed and evaluated in field experiments carried out between 2010 and 2019 in both France and Chile.

Los taninos enológicos se utilizan habitualmente en la elaboración del vino por diversos motivos (Versari et al., 2013; Vignault et al., 2018), entre los que destacan su acción inhibitoria de la actividad lacasa en las vendimias afectadas por la podredumbre gris y la protección del color del vino frente al pardeamiento. No obstante, hasta hace muy poco este efecto anti-lacasa era tan solo empírico sin que existieran pruebas científicas de ello. Por esta razón, la OIV creo un grupo de trabajo específico para estudiar las verdaderas aplicaciones de los taninos enológicos. Fruto de sus investigaciones son los resultados que se presentan a continuación que demuestran la efectividad de los taninos enológicos para inhibir la actividad lacasa y proteger de este modo el color del vino (Vignault et al., 2019; Vignault et al., 2020).
