Minimal Mineral – Transforming Ceiling Systems: Shaping Tomorrow's Sustainable Construction Ceiling systems, due to their volume and materiality – alongside the foundation – are central key components for sustainable construction. Innovations in this area can significantly reduce resource consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, while simultaneously strengthening regional diversity in the construction industry. The presented research approach not only aims at material savings but also strives for comprehensive optimization using digital technologies. Historical construction systems with proven circular characteristics serve as the foundation for development. As part of the “Minimal Mineral” project, digital manufacturing methods are being researched to develop a catalog of innovative, multimodal ceiling systems. The consistent application of computer‐aided design and analysis tools, as well as digital manufacturing processes such as 3D printing and robotics, enable new resource‐efficient construction methods and the use of more sustainable materials. The resulting component catalog is based on tested historical construction methods, thus ensuring a rapid practical application. The focus of the report is on preliminary investigations for a prototype application for a current construction project in northern France, which is currently in the planning phase. The planned novel ceiling system consists of prefabricated mineral formwork elements with integrated sound absorption functions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published
