We study whether educational homogamy has increased following the rise of women’s educational attainment and of egalitarian couples in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. From the analysis of data from the European Union and Swiss Labour Force Surveys over a 15-year period (1999–2013), we observe that educational homogamy did not increase across cohorts, although we find substantial differences in the degree of homogamy according to couple arrangements.

Anfang 2007 lag die Zahl der Handybesitzer und Handybesitzerinnen weltweit bei zirka 2,5 Milliarden, was mehr als ein Drittel der Weltbevölkerung ausmacht. In der Schweiz besitzen 91% aller Einwohner und Einwohnerinnen ein Handy. Unter Jugendlichen ist das Handy das meistverbreitete elektronische Medium. Das Handy wird von Jugendlichen nicht nur als Kommunikationsmittel, sondern auch als Unterhaltungs- und Organisationsmedium eingesetzt. Handykultur beinhaltet technische Entwicklungen, soziale Praktiken und kulturelle Symbole. Ziel Anhand unserer Forschung wird erhoben, wie die Sozialisationsinstanzen Eltern, Schule und Jugendarbeit Handykultur an Jugendliche vermitteln. Die Forschungsresultate sind Basis der erarbeiteten Handlungsoptionen für die Soziokulturelle Animation. Resultate Unsere Forschung in der Gemeinde Nidau hat ergeben, dass die Sozialisationsinstanzen Eltern, Schule und Jugendarbeit die Vermittlung von Handykultur an Jugendliche als Herausforderung empfinden. Es existieren wenig allgemeingültige Verhaltensnormen, was vor allem bei Eltern grosse Unsicherheit auslöst. A study of the motor development and the corporal schema integration was carried out on 60 normal children aged between 6 and 10, and 40 slightly mentally handicapped children of 8 and 10 years of age. The deficiency at the level of manual rapidity is the most important element concerning the motive debility of mentally handicapped children. The tests show that there is no parallelism between the motive retardedness and the level of attainment of the corporal schema. In fact, the motor debility of 8 years old children is emphasized at the age of 10 with reference to normal children. On the other hand, if, at the age of 8, the mentally handicapped children have a lag of the corporal schema acquisition, these children have nearly overcome their retardedness at the age of 10. Therefore one can conclude that the motor retardedness of the slightly mentally handicapped children is not essentially due to a deficiency of the corporal schema integration.
