Research on far-right extremism has grown substantially over the last decade, owing to the rise of Trump, attacks such as the one in Christchurch and Buffalo, as well as the mainstreaming of hate speech and polarization. In addition to research, there have been antifascist activists who have been engaged in doxxing members of the far right who are part of our schools, our militaries, and governments. Releasing the private information of members of far-right movements to the public has created interesting policy and law enforcement dilemmas. With respect to law enforcement, can doxxing be used as a tool to force individuals to disengage from groups? For social media companies, doxxing violates their terms of service, but should an exception be made in these instances since it purportedly serves a public interest? For this paper, we interviewed 10 former members of the far right who have experienced doxxing over the last several years. The paper explores what happened, the immediate and long-term effects of doxxing on their lives, and ongoing challenges of being exposed against their will. We conclude with some policy recommendations related to the costs and benefits of doxxing on these individuals but also society at large.

Hintergrund: Die Verfügbarkeit von Januskinase (JAK)-Inhibitoren hat die Behandlung der rheumatoiden Arthritis (RA) verändert und Patienten zu einer klinischen Remission verholfen. Es wurde jedoch auch über das Auftreten opportunistischer Infektionen (OI) im Zusammenhang mit der Anwendung von JAK-Inhibitoren berichtet. Diese strukturierte Literaturübersicht wurde erstellt, um Berichte über OI im Zusammenhang mit der Behandlung von RA mit JAK-Inhibitoren in klinischen Studien zusammenzufassen. Methoden: Eine strukturierte Suche nach relevanten klinischen Studiendaten bis März 2021 wurde in MEDLINE® und Embase® durchgeführt. Es wurden auch bibliografische Recherchen in neueren Übersichtsarbeiten durchgeführt und in grauer Literatur recherchiert, um wichtige Lücken zu schließen. Die Publikationen wurden gescreent, extrahiert und hinsichtlich ihrer Qualität bewertet. Die Daten wurden in narrativer Form zusammengefasst. Ergebnisse: Nach dem Screening wurden 105 Publikationen über 62 spezifische klinische Studien eingeschlossen, die über die Inzidenz von OI bei RA-Patienten, die mit JAK-Inhibitoren behandelt wurden, berichteten. Insgesamt wurde die höchste expositionsbereinigte Inzidenzrate für Herpes-zoster-Infektionen (alle Formen) berichtet, gefolgt von OI (alle Formen) und Tuberkulose, basierend auf begrenzten Daten aus klinischen Studien mit zugelassenen Dosen von JAK-Inhibitoren. Das Fehlen von direkten Vergleichsstudien und Unterschiede im Studiendesign lassen einen direkten Vergleich der JAK-Inhibitoren nicht zu. In der asiatischen und australischen Bevölkerung wurden im Vergleich zur Weltbevölkerung höhere OI-Raten festgestellt. Abstract Genetic mutations with major effects on ovulation rate in sheep were recently identified in two genes of the transforming growth factor (TGFβ) superfamily and a TGFβ receptor, namely bone morphogenetic protein 15 (BMP15), otherwise known as the growth differentiation factor 9b (GDF9b), GDF9 and activin-like kinase 6 (ALK6) otherwise known as the BMP receptor type IB (BMPRIB). Animals homozygous for the BMP15 or GDF9 mutations are anovulatory whereas animals heterozygous for BMP15 or GDF9 or heterozygous or homozygous for ALK6 have higher than normal ovulation rates. Immunisation of ewes against BMP15 or GDF9 shows that both are essential for normal follicular development and control of ovulation rate. Common features of fertile animals with the BMP15, ALK6 (and possibly GDF9) mutations are changes in oocyte development during early preantral follicular growth, earlier maturation of granulosa cells and ovulation of mature follicles at smaller diameters. In summary, these findings have led to a new paradigm in reproductive biology, namely that the oocyte plays a key role in regulating the ovulation rate.
