The article "Persistent Misperceptions" deals with the incorrect perception of the West regarding geopolitical conflicts. It is pointed out that the erosion of Western hegemony is not attributable to individual actors such as China or Russia, but rather to global economic shifts. The German government interprets multipolarity as an attack by some states on the existing international order, which is seen as incorrect. It is emphasized that China is rising within the existing international order and is not attempting to reshape it.
