Traditional Māori arts are closely linked to nature, which accounts for the fascination they inspire among Europeans; in this sense, they are fully aligned with a double process of naturalisation, both in their inspiration and in their spectacular dimension, to which is added another dimension, in relation to their status as a cultural treasure (taonga). Contemporary artists draw on this tradition to answer the questions of their time, linked to their bicultural nation and its relationship to colonial history, to the ethics of cultural appropriation, to consumption in the globalised world… This paper examines the naturalist motif of the spiral in its different avatars—koru (the basic form of the spiral), kowhaiwhai (paintings), moko (tattoos)—to analyse these processes.

Angesichts zunehmend entpolitisierter Debatten um Hunger analysiert dieser Beitrag die Ernährungs- und Gesundheitssituation mehrfach benachteiligter Frauen* im globalen Süden. Aus einer biopolitischen Perspektive werden die materiellen Lebensbedingungen ländlicher Frauen* nach der Agrarliberalisierung untersucht und es wird beleuchtet, wie Nutrionismus auf Subjektivitäten und Körper(lichkeiten) von gebärfähigen, schwangeren und stillenden Frauen* in postkolonialen Ländern zugreift. Mit einer kritischen Haltung gegenüber technologischen Lösungen für Mangelernährung zeigt die empirische Studie der Bewegung Food Sovereignty Alliance India (FSA), dass die beteiligten Frauen*, Dalit- und Adivasigruppen über lokale nahrhafte Ernährungsgrundlagen verfügen und sozial gerechte Zugänge zu Gemeinschaftsressourcen sowie die Einbeziehung des Ernährungswissens von ländlichen Frauen* für Gesundheit und nachhaltige Landwirtschaft fordern. Abschließend wird diskutiert, wie feministisch-entwicklungspolitische Kritiken an Machtverhältnissen in Haushalt und Familie die Forschungen und politischen Ziele von FSA erweitern und zu einer umfassenden Demokratisierung von Nahrungspolitiken beitragen können.

# Objectives The skin has a high demand for folates because of its constant renewal and growth. Folates play an important role in the metabolism of healthy skin and in the regeneration of irritated or injured skin. The high proliferation rate supports wound healing in chronic and degenerative skin diseases. In contrast to systemic folate administration, there is little known on skin penetration of folates after topical application. Therefore, skin penetration with L-formyltetrahydrofolate di-arginine salt (L-FTHF-di-arginine), L-formyltetrahydrofolate calcium gluconate mixture (L-FTHF-Ca) and L-methyltetrahydrofolate dicholine salt (L-MTHF-dicholine) was studied. # Methods We investigated the epidermal penetration of 2.5% aqueous solution of L-FTHF di-arginine, L-FTHF Ca and L-MTHF dicholine using *in vitro* reconstructed epidermal skin models. These multi-layered epidermis models closely emulate the barrier of human skin. Aqueous solutions of - L-FTHF di-arginine, L-FTHF Ca and L-MTHF dicholine were applied topically to the keratinized layer. The folate concentration below the multi-layer was analyzed after 24 hours by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-analysis to detect penetration. In order to assess an effect on wound healing *in vitro*, the selected folates were tested in a keratinocyte scratch assay. # Results Analysis of the examined folates in the cell culture medium located opposite of the application site showed their penetration through the reconstructed epidermal model. In epidermal models to which L-FTHF di-arginine was added, L-MTHF dicholine was detected on the opposite site. L-FTHF salts were partially converted to L-MTHF. Improved wound healing was shown in keratinocyte scratch assay when the selected folates were added to the medium. # Conclusion The *in vitro* experiments on an epidermal skin model have revealed the following new findings: a) the different reduced folates investigated (L-FTHF di-arginine, L-FTHF Ca and L-MTHF dicholine) penetrate well into and through the skin, in contrast to folic acid, which is commonly used; b) they neither disturb the viability of skin cells nor their barrier function, but even improve it; c) the proliferation and migration of epidermal cells, which is important for wound healing, is promoted; d) epidermal cells are able to convert L-FTHF locally into L-MTHF, i.e., to the dominant biologically active form in the circulation. This creates important prerequisites for a future topical application of folates for the treatment of certain skin diseases and the prophylaxis of skin aging processes.

Corona-bedingt musste im Sommersemester 2020 ein Seminar im Bereich der Grundschuldidaktik Sachunterricht, das als Forschendes Lernen konzipiert war, in ein digitales Format umgewandelt werden. Es wird explorativ untersucht, welche Bedeutung die Lehramtsstudierenden in ihren Reflexionsportfolios (N=31) den sozialen Interaktionen im Forschungsprozess zuweisen und wie sie dabei die Virtualität der Lernumgebung thematisieren. Theoretischer Ausgangspunkt ist das Modell der Community of Inquiry (Garrison et al. 1999, 2010), dessen drei Elemente teaching presence, cognitive presence und social presence für die Analyse aufgegriffen werden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass ko-konstruktive Prozesse in hohem Masse auch in einer digitalen Lernumgebung möglich sind, d. h. Austausch auf der sozio-kognitiven Ebene erfolgreich stattfindet. Die Hochschuldidaktik sollte sich, neben den technischen und räumlichen Herausforderungen durch die digitale Lehre, jedoch auch mit den sozio-emotionalen Wirkungen von digitalen Lehrformaten befassen, da von den Studierenden vor allem die fehlende physische Präsenz als Mangel erlebt wird.

The article focuses on gender portrayal in audio-visual media and discusses the visibility and participation of diverse people. Based on a theoretical framework from gender media studies, we conceptualize audio-visual visibility as a dimension of intersectionality and apply this in an empirical approach. Audio-visual character analysis (ACIS) is introduced as a method to investigate media content in order to describe visibility of the represented people. Applying this method, a quantitative content analysis of a representative sample of German television from 2016 was realized to answer the research questions on the portrayal of relevant characters and on the positions behind the camera. The findings show an unequal representation of gender and an intersectional relevance of other categories of difference such as age as well as an interplay between gender of creative positions and visibility of female characters. The article discusses findings and implications for future research.

Im Kontext der digitalen Transformation von Bibliotheken wird eine Neuausrichtung des Berufsbilds Fachreferat kontrovers diskutiert. Jedoch können die unterschiedlichen Qualifikationen der Fachreferent*innen sowie die organisatorische Verteilung über alle Bereiche der Bibliothek auch Chancen bieten, mit innovativen und agilen Projekten neue Nutzungskonzepte zu entwickeln. In diesem Beitrag beleuchten wir die Rolle der Fachreferate im Projektkontext der Entwicklung einer neuen IT-Anwendung zur Unterstützung des Revisionsprozesses namens LISA. Dabei wurde deutlich, dass Fachreferent*innen nicht nur unterschiedliche Nutzungsperspektiven einbringen, sondern auch für die Akzeptanz von neuen Services entscheidende Impulse setzen. Weiterhin wurde deutlich, dass durch die gemeinsame Projektarbeit eine gegenseitige Qualifizierung stattfindet, welche die Qualität künftiger Projekte, aber auch die allgemeine Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Fachreferaten verbessert.

One often thinks of translation as a bridge between literatures and cultures. However, what if the activity of translators is carried out in a politically confined background oriented by ideological intention? How, for whom and which purpose does one translate then? The period of German Occupation in France (1940-44) highlights these questions in the most exemplary fashion. Following the defeat of France and the 1940 armistice, one of Nazi Germany’s main goals was to re-educate the country by the means of a very thoroughly thought cultural policy, mainly through literature, arts, and a comprehensive program of translations from German into French. But translation was also used at the same time for its own purposes by the opponents to the regime. During those four years of fear and repression throughout the country, to which extent can one look upon literary translation as a sui generis mean of resistance, relying on specific strategies?

Im Rahmen des Projekts Filière bilingue (FiBi) wird reziprok-immersiver Unterricht Deutsch/Französisch ab dem Kindergarten in der zweisprachigen Stadt Biel/Bienne (Schweiz) angeboten. In longitudinalen Sprachstandserhebungen werden u.a. Code- Switchings als mögliche Kommunikationsstrategie untersucht. In einem ersten Teil werden die Sprachwechsel analysiert, die acht frankophone Mädchen im reziprok-immersiven Unterricht anwenden. Im zweiten Teil des Artikels werden aufgrund von Erkenntnissen aus der Spracherwerbsforschung und der gemachten Erfahrungen der beteiligten Lehrpersonen einige Empfehlungen für den Umgang mit Code-Switching in der Praxis zur Diskussion gestellt.

Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht vor dem Hintergrund der Fremdsprachenreform in der Schweiz, welche motivationalen Orientierungen für das Lernen von Englisch und Französisch am Ende der Primarstufe vorliegen und wie sich die Spra-chenlernmotivation am Übergang in die Sekundarstufe I entwickelt. Die Ergebnisse aus der Längsschnittstudie (n = 314) zeigen, dass am Ende der Primarstufe ein deutlich günstigeres Motivationsmuster für das Lernen von Englisch als für Französisch vor-liegt. Am Stufenübergang sinkt in beiden untersuchten Sprachen die intrinsische Motivation, besonders stark beim Französisch-lernen. Die Umkehrung der Sprachenreihenfolge (Englisch- vor Französischunterricht) hat keine signifikanten Effekte auf die Motivation, später Französisch zu lernen. This article presents an ongoing project which studies the motivational orientations at the end of primary school (after 6 years of schooling) and the first year of secondary school. The two groups differ in terms of the order of acquisition relating to French and English as the L2 and the L3. The results of the longitudinal study (n = 314) show a much more favourable motivation pattern for English than for French at the end of primary school. At the transition from primary to secondary school, the intrinsic motivation of both languages decreases, especially in French. The reversal of language order has no significant effect on the motivation to learn French.

Christine Larivière analyse pour sa part la place qu’occupe l’œuvre Loup-Garou I de l’artiste David Altmejd à la Galerie de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). L’auteure met en lumière la manière dont la Galerie a investi au cours des dernières années dans le potentiel artistique d’Altmejd, artiste émergent de la scène nord-américaine. C’est à ce titre que Loup Garou I peut s’inscrire parmi les objets phares disciplinaires. C’est une œuvre qui soulève des questions artistiques et scientifiques qui s’inscrivent dans l’actualité. Elle semble ainsi toute désignée pour occuper une place au sein d’une galerie reflétant les préoccupations de l’institution universitaire qui l’héberge. Cela dit, la relation particulière qui s’installe entre l’artiste et l’institution pourrait également être le propre d’un objet phare institutionnel. Acquise en 2010 par la galerie, elle fait écho à la place qu’accorde l’institution à l’artiste montréalais depuis plusieurs années déjà. Son acquisition démontre la volonté de la galerie d’appuyer l’ancien diplômé de l’UQAM dans son travail, un geste directement lié à sa mission. L’auteure met en lumière la manière dont l’institution a contribué au rayonnement international de l’artiste en l’accompagnant à l’exposition internationale d’art contemporain de la Biennale de Venise en 2007. Acquérir la première œuvre de la série Loup-Garou d’Altmejd aura servi non seulement à encourager l’artiste, mais également à apporter un certain prestige à l’institution.

Der vorliegende Beitrag soll zur Diskussion rund um effektive Lehrkonzepte unter Anwendung des Problem-based-Learning-Ansatzes beitragen. Anhand eines konkreten Beispiels aus dem Life-Science-Bereich Tissue Engineering werden zunächst Herausforderungen in der Einführungsphase eines PBL-Moduls beleuchtet. No final dos anos 90, a ciência da literatura germanística discute sobre uma “nova literatura alemã pop”. O autor Christian Kracht é considerado o fundador dessa corrente literária. A presente contribuição ocupa-se com os romances de Kracht: Faserland e 1979. Enquanto Faserland é visto freqüentemente como protótipo da literatura pop, 1979 parece sugerir antes uma saída desse gênero ainda defícil de definir. No presente trabalho os dois romances são interpretados e discutidos no que se refere aos seus elementos popliterários.

La proximité lexicale entre les noms de Fantômette et de Fantômas fait supposer au non-initié que la première est consœur du second. Il ne faut pas s’y tromper : en vérité, Fantômette est une justicière masquée qui lutte généralement contre les bandits de type Fantômas.Pourtant, une fois le malentendu dissipé, une étrange similarité se dessine entre les revendications du malfaiteur et les licences de la justicière, à tel point que l’on peut voir dans le personnage féminin et sa défense apparente de la justice un modèle d’autonomisation de la femme et d’affranchissement à l’égard de la société. Somme toute, en revendiquant le respect de la justice des hommes, Fantômette déguise son affirmation d’une malice toute féminine…

Innovative mixing principles in bioreactors, for example using the rocking of a platform to induce a backwards and forwards 'wave' , or using orbital shaking to generate a 'wave' that runs round in a cylindrical container, have proved to be successful for the suspension cultures of cells, especially when combined with disposable materials. This article presents an overview of the engineering characteristics when these new principles are applied in bioreactors, and case studies covering scales of operation from milliliters to 1000 liters.
