The topic of the article "Russia and the Presidential Elections in the USA" deals with Russia's stance towards the US elections. The relationship between the two countries is seen as hostile, regardless of the election outcome. The candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are analyzed, with Trump being viewed as an active and impulsive politician. It is expected that the global confrontation between Russia and the USA will continue for many years. The power dynamics in the USA are also discussed, questioning the true nature of power. It is emphasized that the relationship between Russia and the USA is crucial and the results of their confrontation will determine the future. [Extracted from the article]

The approving and disapproving reactions to the speech given by climate activist Luisa Neubauer at the Tübingen Media Lectureship 2023 demonstrate the intertwining of climate and generational discourse. This article focuses on the analysis of Neubauer’s speech and the open letter that Tübingen’s mayor Boris Palmer had published a week later, as well as the analysis of the media response to these two discursive events. The discourse analysis shows that the climate debate is determined by social positioning and power relations. An intersectional approach reveals the entanglements of age/generation, gender and class. SOFT power (Social sciences) , *WORLDVIEW , *NARRATION , *REVELATION - Abstract
Biblical narration can generally be understood as fictional narration. This draws attention to the fact that a level of 'communication about communication' has been introduced into the texts, which in turn has consequences for the understanding of revelation. Accordingly, the key to the 'truth' of the texts does not lie (primarily) behind the texts in historical facts, nor in the substantiation by supranatural events, but in the persuasive power of the view of the world that the texts unfold in the readers. In this, revelation remains bound to the text, which becomes an experience for the reader in the course of reading. At the same time, this opens up a broad understanding of revelation that includes both religious and secular perspectives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The book "Mentalizing in Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy" by Josef Brockmann, Holger Kirsch, and Svenja Taubner deals with the concept of mentalization and its further development. It places particular emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and epistemic trust. Case examples are used to illustrate the intervention techniques of mentalization-based therapy. The book is aimed at both individuals who are already familiar with the concept and newcomers. The present text addresses the topic of power and powerlessness from the perspective of individual psychology. It explains that the pursuit of power and empowerment forms the basis for overcoming feelings of inferiority and coping with challenges in life. The experiences of encouragement or discouragement play a central role in this. The text also includes contributions on various aspects of power and powerlessness in the therapeutic relationship, group psychotherapy, and long-term psychotherapy. The case of mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik is also mentioned as an example of destructive power dynamics. Finally, power and powerlessness experiences during training at the Alfred Adler Institute Munich are described. The text addresses various topics related to power and powerlessness, including the effects of digitization and virtual worlds, as well as the importance of a sense of community, mindfulness, and gratitude in dealing with death. The role of individual psychology and positive psychology in promoting encouragement and development is also emphasized. [Extracted from the article]

The parent-child metaphor as an expression of power dynamics at psychodynamic institutes. An essay Within psychodynamic training institutions, the parent-child metaphor arises as a means of framing the relationship between teaching staff and students: teaching analysts, supervisors, and lecturers are named as »parents« who train the »children«. In employing this metaphor, the goal is not always the establishment of a community feeling, but often negotiating positions within institutional power structures. Case vignettes are presented as an attempt to trace and analyse power dynamics between generations. The metaphor of parenthood is critically examined, especially which aspects of hierarchical togetherness are highlighted and which are obfuscated or hidden. The power dynamics at psychodynamic institutes can be observed on two levels: the analytical and the real-factual. Generativity at institutes is explored in the tension between these dimensions. Which »disturbances« exist and how a constructive coexistence of older and younger generations can succeed will be discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The document describes thalassocracy as the guiding principle of Byzantine power politics in the 6th to 11th centuries. It shows the development of Byzantine maritime supremacy and defense against enemies such as the Arabs. The navy lost strength in the 11th century, while Venice filled the gap and combined economic interests with sea power. Thalassocracy refers to the rule over the sea and the use of ships and ports for political and economic purposes. [Extracted from the article]

The present article is based upon the results of an empirical research project that dealt with a concrete Interreligious Encounter Day (IRBT) at a Viennese school. Based upon a participatory observation, a group of researchers from the KPH Vienna/Krems recorded and analyzed the preparation, implementation as well as reflection of this day. The analyses of those observations made it clear to what an extent organizational and didactic preliminary decisions as well as structural framework conditions affect the course of the IRBT -- especially with regards to the possible acquisition of competences by the students. Some aspects are, as it were, "adjusting screws" that can be "turned" in the sense of optimization -- e.g. the choice of the topic or the consideration of the students' attention span. Other aspects seem to be inherent in IRBT (e.g. the power relations between minorities and majorities or opportunities/risks of attributing religious expertise to students). They all need to be considered when planning and implementing an IRBT with students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article "At first they are scared and afterwards they walk all over you" - Power dynamics in work relationships in the judicial coercive context" deals with the significance of power in the work relationship between social workers and delinquent youth. An empirical study from German-speaking Switzerland shows that power dynamics and interdependencies play an important role in collaboration. The article discusses how power phenomena in offender assistance could be addressed. The study examines power dynamics and dependencies between social workers and youth in the youth prosecution. Various aspects are critically questioned and possibilities for improving work relationships are highlighted. This paper focusses on Fanny Lewald's historical novel »Prinz Louis Ferdinand« of 1849. I examine the biographical as well as cultural-historical circumstances of the work's genesis. Lewald clearly intended it as a critique of Prussian history, but at the same time the work's focal point turns out to be a quite personal, female perspective. This perspective is mirrored in the prince's experiences of loss and powerlessness. This leads me to explore the poetological dimensions of a writing in which the figure of the Prussian prince becomes a prismatic center of Lewald's self-reflection. Here, the figure of Rahel Levin, as prominently portrayed by Lewald in her novel, plays a special role. It is precisely in her that the author's interest in the political position of the Jewess in her as well as in Rahel Levin's time becomes apparent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In qualitative research, the proximity of researchers to their research fields is crucial for the investigation of social phenomena. For the examination of questions of difference and inequality in the context of university teacher education, this enables the potentials for a transformation of teaching and learning in qualitative research, which does not conceive of inequality as an external object, but declares its own involvement in powerful orders as the object and reference point of reflexive professionalism. By means of an insight into the work of a research workshop in a master's program in teaching, it is shown how the researchers at first reproduce orders of inequality, but then succeed in revealing them and making them discussable using reflexive position-fixing. This article not only traces how such a change of perspective takes place, but also which challenges the university setting poses and how these can be met in order to address social power relations and to stimulate professionalization processes that are critical of inequality. POWER (Social sciences) , *EDUCATION theory , *PSYCHOLOGISTS , *PRIMARY schools - Abstract
In the editorial titled "Education from an individual psychological perspective," the question is raised whether individual psychology can contribute to the concept of education. It is noted that the term "education" cannot be found in the subject indexes of individual psychology and that Adler himself did not refer to pedagogical authorities. Experts from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland were invited to provide statements on the pedagogical relevance of individual psychology. The first contribution in this issue addresses the absence of an explicit individual psychological concept of education and discusses various aspects of education from an individual psychological perspective. It also refers to the contribution of a US-American individual psychologist who has dealt with issues of climate change and ecological anxieties. The text deals with various aspects of individual psychology and its significance for education. Sven Kluge emphasizes the relevance of individual psychological analyses for understanding social power and domination relations. Beate Letschert-Grabbe presents three examples of individual psychology-oriented work in primary schools. Helga Haunschmied-Donhauser and Rudolf Isler discuss the significance of individual psychology for education and consider whether an explicit theory of education can be formulated. Finally, the model of the "Zurich School" by Friedrich Liebling is presented as an example of individual psychological educational work. [Extracted from the article]

The text "Synodality in the Church Fathers and Ecumenical Councils" by Peter Hünermann discusses the connections between Christian communities since the Apostolic Fathers. The communities welcome brothers and sisters from other communities and exchange letters. However, there are also cultural and theological differences between the individual churches. The synods represent the Church as a whole and make decisions that also affect other churches. However, there is no legal obligation for formal approval, but the decisions of other churches should be taken seriously. The text deals with the significance of linguistic instructions as formulated in the Indiculus. It emphasizes that it is not about the details of the formulation and argumentation of the Synod of Carthage, but about the fact that the matter of faith can be understood in one's own words. The Indiculus shows how the plurality of faith is preserved in the unity of faith. It also addresses the synods of the early Church, especially the Synod of 268, which refers to Paul of Samosata. The synod was convened by bishops, priests, and deacons from Samosata and the surrounding area and was addressed to all bishops, priests, and deacons on the face of the earth and to the whole Church. The text describes the introduction of the state religion by Emperor Constantine in 324 and the resulting laws that punish the coercion of Christians to perform pagan cult acts. It also addresses the conflict between Constantine and Licinius in the Eastern part of the Empire, which ultimately leads to Licinius' defeat and Constantine's sole rule. The Council of Nicaea in 325 is also mentioned, where the teachings of Arius were discussed and the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed was adopted. The First Lateran Council in 1123 is mentioned as the beginning of the second millennium for the Roman Catholic Church and addresses the conflict between imperial authority and the independence of bishop appointments. The text describes the development of power relations between the Pope and the German emperors in the Middle Ages. After the coronation of Otto I in 962, the German emperors used their power to influence the election of popes. A movement of monasteries and abbeys led by Cluny tried to free themselves from the control of the emperors. The climax of the conflict came with Pope Gregory VII and the excommunication of Henry IV in 1075. The Crusades and the First Lateran Council are also mentioned. It took 100 years to achieve the basic constitution of the Roman Catholic Church based on the Concordat of Worms. [Extracted from the article]

The present volume "Key Concepts of General Educational Science" contains contributions from academically recognized authors and advanced students who discuss traditional and newer concepts in the field of educational science. The volume reflects native and newer concepts that shape the pedagogical discourse. It is noted that certain concepts that address social inequalities and injustices are preferred, while other important concepts are missing. The text emphasizes the importance of pedagogy and educational science in enlightening about power relations and combating injustices. It is suggested to ask the question about the uniqueness of pedagogy and not leave it to external forces. [Extracted from the article]

The article "Maria as a Figure of Identification in the 21st Century" discusses the various representations and meanings of Maria in the Roman Catholic Church in Germany. The movement "Maria 2.0" protests against discrimination and misconduct in the Church and considers Maria as a figure of identification for women, especially as a mother figure. The historical portrayal of Maria as a mother in medieval paintings can be interpreted as encouragement for public motherhood. The portrayal of Maria as a young girl in the Annunciation scene is now critically examined and raises questions about power dynamics and boundary crossings. The Schutzmantelmadonna, a widely spread representation of Maria in the Middle Ages and Baroque period, is considered an unusual figure of identification that resists Christ's destructive intentions. The article reflects on the various attributions and honorary titles that are ascribed to Maria in the Christian faith, such as mother, girl, protector, queen of heaven, and virgin. It emphasizes that Maria should not only be seen as a humble servant and mother, but also as a powerful figure who engages in subtle resistance. Maria is seen as a figure of identification for women in the 21st century who engage in subtle resistance within patriarchal systems and use their power and influence to bring about change. It is emphasized that Maria is a bearer of hope and a role model for women who transform male projections into female power. [Extracted from the article]

POWER (Social sciences) , *CITIES & towns , *CITY promotion , *CATHEDRALS , *CULTS ,SPANISH monarchy ,SPANISH colonies - Abstract
The article describes the significance of religion for the form and composition of Spanish-American cities. The cities were politically shaped by new government techniques and the exercise of royal rule, which were organized around elaborate ceremonial regimens centered on the figure of the Spanish king and Catholic religious rituals. The Catholic presence was also evident in the physical presence of numerous cathedrals, churches, monasteries, and chapels in the cities of the Spanish Empire. Participation in religious rituals and ceremonies was of great importance for the legitimacy of royal rule. The cities of Spanish America developed a new epistemology that connected them with new understandings of antiquity and granted them authority. The new cities were considered modern and were supposed to be geographically located near navigable waters and possess urban architectural splendor. The dominance of Catholicism in the cities and towns of the Spanish Empire was also evident in the daily Mass celebrations and the church bells that called the faithful to the rituals. The religious rituals and ceremonies were performed both in the buildings of worship and in the squares and streets of the cities and towns. The cities of Spanish America acquired a history, mythology, and religious authority in the Catholic world through religious ceremonies, the cult of city patron saints, the promotion of city saints in Rome, and the production of pious people worthy of beatification. This article deals with the significance of squares and street names in the cities of the Spanish colonial empire. The central squares were surrounded by a network of streets that extended from the central plaza. With the growth of the cities, new smaller squares emerged and the streets were given names that reflected the various economic and commercial activities of the city. In addition, streets were named after religious and secular institutions to emphasize the connection to the Catholic Church and the Spanish monarchy. In the 16th and 17th centuries, many Spanish Habsburg subjects were canonized in Rome to legitimize the power and influence of the Spanish monarchy. Candidates for canonization were also proposed in the cities of the New World Empire to strengthen the connection to the Catholic Church and Rome. Cathedrals often favored the worship of saints associated with the monarchy, the origins of the city, or the founding of their cathedral chapter. The cult of patron saints was an important religious currency used by cities in competition for primacy and religious power among the cities in the empire. In Puebla de los Angeles, founded in 1531 in New Spain, the Archangel Michael became closely associated with the bishopric of Puebla a hundred years later, after the Archangel appeared to the Indian Diego Lázaro in a city under his jurisdiction in 1631. The decision of the Bishop of Puebla, Gutierrez Bernardo de Quiroz (1626-1638), to build a sanctuary to mark this miracle led to a lasting cult of the saint in Puebla. The city's connection to the Archangel dated back to the first bishop of Tlaxcala, Julián Garcés (1525-1542), when the [Extracted from the article]

The article "How far do bayonets reach? Violence and colonial rule in Africa" by Tabea U. Buddeberg and Jürgen G. Nagel discusses violence and colonial rule in Africa. It emphasizes that the establishment of European colonies on other continents rarely occurred peacefully and often relied on superior military technology. Southern Africa serves as a case study for the violent seizure of colonies. The article also discusses various forms of violence used in colonialism and apartheid, including radical outbreaks of violence and structural violence. Racially organized segregation spatially and socially excluded the colonized society from many areas of social life. The text deals with the legitimization of power asymmetry in modern colonialism and the connection between racism and science. In particular, racist patterns of thought were justified through religious and later scientific knowledge in South Africa and Namibia. This led to the development of the academic discipline of anthropology, which formed the scientific basis for apartheid. Structural violence and the division of society into ethnic subgroups continue to have an impact on the thinking and actions of people in South Africa and Namibia today. The colonial history is not yet complete and continues to shape societies in the region. [Extracted from the article]

ADLERIAN psychology , *POWER (Social sciences) , *COMMUNITY relations , *EDUCATIONAL change , *POLITICAL reform - Abstract
The article discusses the conflict between the optimization of humans and the "courage to be imperfect." It argues that optimization is primarily a technological concept and that other ideals such as perfection and emancipation deviate qualitatively from the logics of optimization. The negative effects of the optimization society are also discussed, such as feelings of inadequacy and desolidarization. The text suggests that a "courage to be imperfect" should be developed and that a critical examination of the ideals of optimization is necessary. The text deals with the effects of the comprehensively structured world of things on humans. It emphasizes that the demands of this world no longer correspond to human capacities and access. The human is referred to as the "court dwarf of his own machinery" and the relationship to the world of products is determined by shame and feelings of inferiority. The emergence of a "divisum" that can fulfill dehumanizing requirements is also addressed. The text raises the question of why there is so little resistance to these developments and emphasizes the importance of "moral imagination" and the courage to be imperfect as an antidote. The text addresses the themes of imperfection and sense of community in relation to the philosophers Anders and Adler. It emphasizes that accepting imperfection and promoting a sense of community are essential prerequisites for positive development. It is also noted that a society characterized by power-seeking and ideals of improvement often shows defensive reactions against the courage to be imperfect. It argues that political and educational reform is necessary to strengthen the sense of community and promote the courage to be imperfect. The text discusses the connection between individual psychology and the diagnosis of obsolescence. It is noted that there are similarities and differences between the two approaches. It argues that the causes of obsolescence could be linked to social power and power relations. The text emphasizes the importance of a community based on cooperative practice and characterized by sensitivity, avoidance of harm, and the well-being of others. It is also noted that structural inequalities must be dismantled to enable a qualitatively different approach. The text concludes with the question of what kind of society we want to live in the future and emphasizes the importance of the courage to be imperfect. [Extracted from the article]

POWER (Social sciences) , *COVID-19 pandemic , *PUBLIC spaces , *SOCIAL distancing , *SOCIAL influence - Abstract
The article "Physical/Bodily Proximity" examines the significance of physical proximity in sociology and psychology. It is noted that certain terms have already been established, while others have not been sufficiently defined. The authors emphasize that the everyday experience of physical proximity is often neglected. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has shown how important physical proximity is for shared experiences and social interaction. Therefore, the special issue of the Journal of Psychology examines the practices and effects of physical proximity and distance during the pandemic. The text addresses various aspects of physical experiences and interactions and includes six contributions on topics such as interactions in public spaces, touch in psychotherapy, and the effects of social distancing on older people. The importance of physical distance during the pandemic is also discussed, as well as how it influences social relationships and power dynamics. [Extracted from the article]

POWER (Social sciences) , *ADULTS , *REFLEXIVITY - Abstract
The article "Forms of Childhood: Mobility as a Parameter of Reflection" emphasizes the complexity of childhood and the necessity of differentiated research. Childhood is not a fixed domain, but develops through actions, interactions, and references. The shaping of childhood has implications for society and requires reflection on power relations and adults' control over children. Various approaches to shaping childhood are discussed, and the importance of educational spaces is emphasized, where children can act as self-responsible agents. The authors call for a democratic and deliberative design of educational spaces, in which all children can negotiate their conditions of coexistence and challenge traditional Western-centric assumptions. The article "Sapientialized Priest?: Reconsidering the Priestly Torah in Sirach" examines the role of the priestly law in Ben Sira's book Sirach. It argues that Ben Sira places more emphasis on priestly leadership than on the authority of Moses. It is speculated that Ben Sira belongs to a priestly group or is subject to the circle of scribe-sages. It also discusses whether Ben Sira identifies the priestly law with wisdom and whether he supports the priestly ideology of the Pentateuch. It is noted that not all mentioned priestly texts point to the Aaronid priesthood. The text discusses whether the priestly ideology in Ben Sira corresponds to that in the Pentateuch. It is pointed out that Ben Sira does not show hostility towards the Levitical or Zadokite priests. It is also argued that Ben Sira probably does not support a political party, but rather chooses figures like Phinehas and Simon II due to his religious devotion to the temple. The main intention of Ben Sira regarding the priesthood lies primarily in the portrayal of wisdom figures within the instruction genre. The text deals with the role of the priesthood in Ben Sira's work. Ben Sira praises the priesthood as the embodiment of wisdom and particularly exalts Simon II. The wisdom given to the priests enables them to judge justly and continue the glory of the legitimate high priests in the next generations. Wisdom plays a central role in the glorification of individuals in Ben Sira's work. Those who accept wisdom and follow its path are rewarded with peace, joy, and protection, and they wear glorious clothing associated with the priestly glory of Aaron and Simon II. The text argues that Sirach is not strongly influenced by the priestly Pentateuch materials, but rather by the proverbs. It is claimed that the creation narratives in Sirach do not come from the priestly Pentateuch, but can rather be associated with non-priestly texts such as Genesis 2-3. It is also noted that Sirach addresses other themes and thoughts than Genesis 1-3. The connection between Sirach and the priestly Pentateuch is seen as problematic. The article examines the connection between the Book of Proverbs and the Book of Sirach. It is noted that various ideas and motifs, such as personified wisdom, the fear of the Lord, and wisdom as a pre-existing being, are directly connected to the Book of Proverbs. It is also pointed out that the opening and closing passages of both books address similar themes. The article argues that Jesus Sirach uses traditional wisdom literature, especially the Book of Proverbs, to secure the legitimacy of his priestly power and leadership. It emphasizes that Sirach should not be seen as a fusion of two separate traditions, but as an adaptation of the wisdom tradition in the Proverbs. [Extracted from the article]

POWER (Social sciences) , *BALANCE of power , *PRESIDENTIAL elections , *INTERNATIONAL relations , *IRANIANS ,JOINT Comprehensive Plan of Action (2015) - Abstract
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRG) have gained political weight through the recent parliamentary and presidential elections. It is unclear whether the country is transforming from an Islamic Republic to an Islamic State. At the same time, Iran's foreign influence in the Middle East seems to be diminishing with the rise of the IRG in domestic politics. The IRG plays an important role in Iran's security and foreign policy and has also influenced the balance of power in the region. The formation of the new government under President Ebrahim Raisi consists of former IRG commanders, and there is talk for the first time of transforming the Islamic Republic into an Islamic State. Iranian foreign policy is under pressure, particularly regarding the nuclear agreement with Iran. Israel has carried out several attacks on targets in the Islamic Republic in recent years, leading to a loss of influence for Iran in the region. The results of the parliamentary elections in Iraq have also worsened the conditions for Iranian foreign policy. Afghanistan could now become unpredictable for Iran as it has lost influence there. Despite controlling the parliament and the president, Iran's Supreme Leader has not been able to convert his domestic political influence into significant foreign influence. POWER (Social sciences) , *AGGRESSION (International law) , *INTERNATIONAL economic integration , *RUSSIANS , *INTERNATIONAL sanctions , *EMIGRATION & immigration - Abstract
The article describes the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and the economic motives behind it. Russia is trying to destroy Ukraine because a economically successful and Europe-oriented Ukraine highlights Russia's own problems. The Kremlin discredits Ukraine as the "Kiev junta" or "fascists/Nazis" and views Ukraine's independence as a Western-orchestrated coup. Russia aims for Eurasian integration, in which Ukraine plays an important role in balancing Moscow's economic power. The integration of Ukraine into an economic union would expand the market for Russian producers and transfer the burden of subsidizing Russian producers onto Ukrainians. The article discusses how Russia's demographic problems and economic difficulties could lead to considering Ukraine as a possible solution. Russia is struggling with problematic demographic trends and relies on migrants from former Soviet republics, who are not accepted by the Russian population. Russia's economic attractiveness as an immigration destination is decreasing, leading to a decline in immigration. The article argues that Putin's actions regarding Ukraine can be seen as a desperate attempt to secure his own socio-economic resources. However, Western sanctions and Ukraine's resistance have led to economic turmoil in Russia. [Extracted from the article]

POWER (Social sciences) , *PSYCHOANALYSIS , *SCIENTIFIC Revolution , *SCIENTIFIC community , *PSYCHOTHERAPY - Abstract
The article discusses the significance of qualitative-empirical research in psychology and psychotherapy science. It addresses Karl Popper's criticism of psychoanalysis, which he considered unscientific. Adolf Grünbaum argued that Freudian theories were scientifically testable but that the psychoanalytic method required external assistance. The article emphasizes the role of qualitative methods as sources of ideas and as an art form in psychoanalysis. It also points out that the shift in psychotherapy education towards natural scientific methods complicates the situation for psychoanalysis. It suggests that qualitative and quantitative methods are important complements and that qualitative methods deserve more recognition. The text discusses the problem of scientific bias and immunization, particularly in the field of psychoanalysis. The author poses the question of whether the scientist Popper would name his main work differently today, given the changed power dynamics in the scientific community. Popper repeatedly emphasized that no theory should be dogmatically upheld, as this leads to harm. The author agrees with Popper that dogmatism is harmful but points out that epistemological and methodological theories can also be dogmatically upheld. The text concludes with the question of what causes such theories to fail and whether a new scientific revolution is necessary. [Extracted from the article]

CLIMATE change , *POWER (Social sciences) , *COVID-19 , *HAZARDS , *LECTURES & lecturing - Abstract
The lecture focuses on the observation, that the current societal turmoil is accompanied by uncertainty and splitting processes. Wars, climate change, COVID-19, political threats and the disintegration of societal structures distress collectively and increase individual powerlessness and feelings of minority. The reactive compensatory tendencies to regain power, order and ground are a natural countermovement, however they themselves imply the danger of a loss of capacity for a dialogue due to counter-splitting and disruptive radicality on the other hand. POWER (Social sciences) , *INTERPERSONAL relations , *SCIENCE education , *SPECIAL education , *SUBSOILS , *REGRET , *SOCIAL reality , *DIGNITY - Abstract
The abuse of power, which appears to be symptomatic in the fields of special education, and which only refers to individual cases and is deplored with regret from the outside, »de-legitimizes« the law (Agamben) and disregards the dignity of people living, learning, working and living in these fields. The focus on the individual case cleverly distracts from the realization that the power relations expressed in domination-like relations of personal and institutional violence towards those for whom the subject and the institutions would have to assume a recognition-based caring, protective and also advocatory function are not only constitutive components of the system as such, but their very own ideological subsoil and superstructure at the same time. In them, the dominant social ideas, which are reflected in the »spirit of the state« (Bourdieu), interlock, just as they are created by it and become the intrinsically effective habitus of the individual and the cement of social agreements. This results in »fog formations in the brain« that constitute curative and special education as a science and institutionalize its fields of action without becoming aware of the dialectics of the processes of exclusion and inclusion as inherent power relations and structures of domination. The discipline itself is an artifact of these relations, whose central task seems to be the euphemistic trivialization of the tragedy of their social reality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

POWER (Social sciences) , *WOMEN'S roles , *LEADERSHIP in women , *LEADERSHIP - Abstract
The article "The Question of Office in a Loop: Power and Leadership, Service and Grace" by Johannes Pock addresses the question of further development of the ecclesiastical office. It emphasizes that the New Testament texts do not provide a clear answer to this question. Pock raises the question of whether the external forms of offices are time-bound or whether the church can adapt leadership forms from its environment. Another aspect is the handling of power in the church. Pock criticizes that power is often veiled and emphasizes the importance of naming power as such. The article also discusses the role of women in the church and suggests separating the office of spiritual leadership from the comprehensive leadership of institutions. It is debated whether the office should primarily be understood as a communal office or whether it should have a bridge-building function. [Extracted from the article]
