Abstract

The article announces the June 2011 introduction of the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process in the Netherlands and discusses the relationship between this legislation and the proposed Basel III financial regulations for Europe. An alleged flaw in the governance of liquidity and the net stable funding ratio of banks by Basel III and its effect on risk management in the European banking industry is analyzed.
