The article reports on a conference on the concept of Christianitas (Christendom) in the Middle Ages, held from April 11-13, 2012, in Loveno di Menaggio, Italy. Topics of the precirculated papers included historical and political aspects of the evolution of the term Christendom, the representation of the papacy in medieval sacred art, and expectations of the future in medieval historiography.
