Climate change and the resulting higher frequency of extreme weather events have a direct negative impact on mental health. Natural disasters are particularly associated with an increase in the prevalence of depression, anxiety and posttraumatic stress disorder. Indirect consequences of climate change, such as food shortages, economic crises, violent conflicts and forced migration, additionally represent severe psychological risk and stress factors. Climate anxiety and solastalgia, the distress induced by environmental change, are new psychological syndromes in the face of the existential threat posed by the climate crisis. Accordingly, a sustainable psychiatry must prepare for increasing and changing demands. The principles of psychiatric treatment need to focus more on prevention to reduce the overall burden on the healthcare system. Waste of resources and CO2 emissions in psychiatric treatment processes as well as infrastructure must be perceived and prevented. Psychiatric education, training and continuing education concepts should be expanded to include the topic of climate change in order to comprehensively inform and sensitize professionals, those affected and the public and to encourage climate-friendly and health-promoting behavior. More in-depth research is needed on the impact of climate change on mental health. The DGPPN becomes a sponsor and aims for climate neutrality by 2030 by committing to climate-friendly and energy-saving measures in the area of finance, in relation to the DGPPN congress as well as the DGPPN office. The DEGAM guideline "Protection against over- and underprovision - deciding together" was introduced in June 2019 and is regularly updated. The article provides a condensed and revised introduction to the guideline in order to raise awareness about the problem of over- and underprovision. Definitions of over- and underprovision are given, and the causes, dimensions, and possible solutions of both phenomena are explained. The guideline offers recommendations for avoiding over- and underprovision based on other DEGAM guidelines and the National Supply Guideline. The article deals with the influence of the industry on medical research and the resulting guideline recommendations. It emphasizes that a reasonable and responsible use of the technical means of medicine should be aimed at in order to avoid under-, over-, and malprovision. Primary care organized health systems are considered more effective in improving the quality of life for people with chronic health problems. Evidence-based medicine is presented as a method for making the best possible decisions in individual cases, taking into account patient preferences and existing clinical research. It emphasizes that the patient's will is an important factor in medical decisions. Reflection and improvement of one's own work are seen as part of the professionalism of physicians in order to correct over- and underprovision. The article emphasizes the importance of process quality in healthcare and makes it clear that guidelines cannot replace medical judgment and individual decisions. Clinical quality management can help structure decision-making processes better and reduce errors. Furthermore, the need for a climate-neutral society is emphasized in order to sustain people's health in the long term. Mobilität und Tourismus gehören untrennbar zusammen, denn ohne einen Ortswechsel gibt es keine Urlaubsreise. Der Tourismus aber verursacht anthropogene Kohlendioxidemissionen, von denen etwa 75 % auf den touristischen Verkehr entfallen. Angesichts dieses Beitrags zum Klimawandel erscheint es notwendig, sich mit Wegen zu einer ökologischen touristischen Mobilität zu beschäftigen. Zur Untersuchung der Einflussfaktoren auf die touristische Verkehrsmittelwahl wurde ein Erklärungsmodell basierend auf der Theorie des geplanten Verhaltens entwickelt. Neben den Basiskonstrukten wurden als ergänzende Modellkonstrukte die persönliche Norm, das allgemeine Umweltbewusstsein sowie gewohnheitsmäßiges Handeln hinzugefügt. Eine empirische Untersuchung mit n=738 ermittelte durch multiple lineare Regression wichtige Ansatzpunkte für die Gestaltung von Handlungsempfehlungen. Mobility and tourism are inseparable linked, because there is no vacation trip without a change of location. However, tourism causes around 5 % of anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions, of which around 75 % is attributable to tourist traffic. In view of this contribution of tourist traffic to climate change, it seems necessary to deal with ways to an ecological tourist mobility. An explanatory model based on the theory of planned behavior was developed to investigate the influencing factors on the choice of tourist mode of transport. In addition to the basic constructs of attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavior control, the personal norm, general environmental awareness and habitual behavior were added as supplementary model constructs.
