Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
This study uses the MESEIC model to design three scenarios of low, middle, and high electricity demand, and three development scenarios of electricity technologies to discuss the development paths of China's future power system to achieve carbon neutrality under different scenarios of electricity demand and electricity development. In the future, China's power system will shift to a new power system mainly based on renewable energy sources, but it is difficult to realize the complete phase-out of coal power under all development scenarios. Under the three scenarios, coal-fired power generation will decline to 0.72-4.11 trillion kWh in 2050, and its share will fall to 4.9%-30.3%. Coal power generation will peak in the 2025-2030 period, except for the high electricity demand, and negative emission scenario (NE-F) for fossil power generation.

This paper conducts emissions and fuel consumption collaborative test of heavy-duty gasoline vehicle, which based on cold start with chassis dynamometer, the data analysis uses cold and hot coefficient weighting to evaluate the results. The research shows that the cold start has a great influence on the pollutants and CO2 emissions, which is mainly reflected in the 86.1% higher THC, 98.2% higher NOX, 65.0% higher CO and 34.8% higher CO2 of cold start cycle emissions compared with the hot start cycle emissions. The cold and heat weighted evaluation method can not only assessmen cold start cycle emissions, but also reasonably reflect the impact degree of cold start factors on emissions. The fuel consumption of cold start is 7.2% higher than that of hot start, the cold and heat weighted fuel consumption compared to the average fuel consumption of hot state is 1.0% higher. Therefore, it is necessary to add collaborative testing of emissions and fuel consumption of heavy-duty gasoline vehicles during cold start in the next phase of the standard

Single-use plastic masks had been widely used in the background of COVID-19, which became the potential source of microplastics. This study focused on the release and characterization of microplastics and non-plastic microparticles from single-use surgical masks (SMs) under simulated environmental conditions. In this work, we found that most microplastics were released from SMs under UV exposure (120.00 ± 17.44 items/mask). Mechanical abrasion (76.00 ± 22.63 items/mask) and high temperature exposure (68.00 ± 0.00 items/mask) could also significantly promote the release of microplastics contrasted to the control groups (37.33 ± 8.33 items/mask). The main polymer types of microplastics were PP and PET. In addition, the total particles were released from masks as the order of mechanical abrasion (17.42 ± 2.25 × 103 items/mask) > UV exposure (5.12 ± 1.62 × 103 items/mask) > high temperature exposure (4.57 ± 3.47 × 103 items/mask) > control groups (2.83 ± 1.46 × 103 items/mask). Among them, there were varied and complex non-microplastics particles (22 kinds total) detected in the experiments. This study provides help to better understand the potential risk of microplastics and different component types of non-plastic microparticles released from masks under simulated environmental conditions.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
Pumped storage power station is an economic and reliable means of peak load regulation for power networks. The temperature and humidity control are complicated due to the huge amount of heat and moisture emission in the main power plant. This paper investigates the operating condition of three different ventilation cases in a five-storey underground pumped storage power station. A full-scale model of the main plant was built for numerical simulation. Three ventilation cases were studied by changing the number, area and layout of air supply vents at the top of the main plant. The airflow distribution of three cases in summer condition were calculated and an optimal ventilation case was determined by comparing the jet flow range and temperature in the working zone. The working condition in winter was also simulated and verified in order to ensure the reliability of the ventilation case. Results show that case 1 was determined as a reasonable air supply case. In this paper, a reasonable scheme of ventilation system was proposed in a underground pumped storage power station. The results would be helpful to optimize the air ventilation mode in underground powerhouse of pumped storage power station.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
The casting quality of the coolant pump casing of the nuclear power plant reactor is directly related to the operational reliability and safety of the nuclear main pump, and plays a key role in the integrity of the pressure-bearing boundary of the reactor primary loop. In this paper, aiming at the low impact performance of the sample during the casting process of the main pump casing of a nuclear power plant, through using failure analysis tools like fishbone diagram from multiple dimensions such as material selection, design and technology, melting analysis, pouring process, riser design, and heat treatment process, and combining with metal macro-fracture analysis and micro-electron microscopy scanning methods for cause analysis, finally, it was found that the basic reason for the low impact performance of the pump shell is that the secondary inclusions appear on the fracture of the sample during the solidification of the molten steel. Using test-retest inspection and finite element mechanics simulation analysis, the comprehensive evaluation of the impact performance of the sample was obtain, which provides an effective solution for the analysis and evaluation of casting inclusions in water pumps of nuclear power plants, and also provides an important reference for the structural optimization and equipment research and development of water pump equipment of nuclear power plants.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
The ground water-source heat pump system for the plant factory lacks a scientific operation strategy to solve the problem of high energy consumption in winter and summer. It is very difficult and uneconomical to change the operation conditions by experimental means to obtain actual operation data. The current study aims to build a TRNSYS simulation model of the ground water-source heat pump system of Shanghai Chongming Natural Light Plant Factory. For the heating season, the simulation of energy consumption was 2315 GJ. Compared with the actual energy consumption, the relative error is -0.98%, which indicates that the simulation results are accurate and the simulation model developed is appropriate and usable. Numerical simulations for the whole year on this basis yielded that the plant factory energy supply system operates from November to March with a heating energy consumption of 3530.84 GJ and from June to September with a cooling energy consumption of 1126.24 GJ. In most cases, the indoor temperature fluctuates within a reasonable range, but in the summer high-temperature season, the plant factory temperature will reach above 40℃, which seriously affects plant growth. After optimization, the plant factory stops production in July and August, and the system stops running, the results are that the optimized system can save 56% of the annual cooling energy consumption, totalling 767.48 GJ, which can reduce the costs by 160,318.05 RMB.

In order to study the energy characteristics of limestone under different initial confining pressures and different unloading rates, based on MTS815 flex test GT rock mechanics test system and acoustic emission (AE) 3D positioning real-time monitoring system, the unloading test and acoustic emission synchronous monitoring of limestone are carried out. The results show that: (1) the pre peak energy process is dominated by energy accumulation, but mainly occurs in the loading stage. The proportion of energy in the unloading stage is basically unchanged, and the proportion of elastic energy is more than 0.9, which fluctuates only before the failure. During the failure, the proportion of energy in the stress drop changes dramatically, and the proportion of elastic energy decreases rapidly to 0. (2) In the coal measure strata, the energy dissipation is the main factor, the dissipation energy and its proportion increase rapidly, while in the front of coal measure strata, the energy release is the main factor, the elastic energy decreases rapidly and the dissipation energy does not increase. (3) The proportion of coal bearing strata in front of coal bearing strata is 0.68 and 0.57 respectively. Unloading elastic energy ratios before coal-bearing strata and coal-bearing strata are 0.824 and 0.876, respectively.

Considering the renewable energy and demand side load fluctuations, using the price type and the alternative demand side response characteristics, a day-ahead and intraday optimization scheduling model that takes into account the demand side response is established, in which the intraday, according to the difference of electricity, cold/heat and natural gas scheduling time, a three-layer rolling optimization scheduling model is proposed. The example analysis shows that this model can suppress the fluctuation of renewable energy and load in the day, improve the stability of the system, and further reduce the operating cost of the system.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
With the overall trends of deterioration in resources and ecological environments not being completely reversed, the Chinese government has adopted the strategy of establishing the Ecological Conservation Redline (ECR). The ECR aims to define limits to the encroachment onto protected ecologically vulnerable and sensitive areas, to prohibit development in these areas, and to enforce strict protection to guarantee regional ecological security. Climate data, remote sensing data, and other related data were used to identify an ECR in Heze, thereby providing an example of principle and methodology for ECR delimitation. After assessment, comprehensive treatment, and coordination analysis, a total area of 924.17 km2, accounting for 7.55% of the city’s total area, was identified as an ECR in Heze. This mainly comprised the area around the Yellow River, the old course of the Yellow River, and the Dongyu River.

Engineering (General). Civil engineering (General) ,TA1-2040 - Abstract
Accurate recognition of driving intentions can delay upshifts under the intention of quick acceleration to maximize vehicle power performance; avoid frequent gear changes in automatic transmissions for rapid deceleration intention and make all power to flow to the bucket in the desire for fast motion of cylinders. However, due to the ambiguity of the human intentions and multiple meanings of depressing on the accelerator pedal in wheel loader, it is difficult to recognize driving intention. Nevertheless, the driver’s intentions are directly reflected in the accelerator pedal, brake pedal and hydraulic valve control handle. By detecting these observable signals such as the signals of acceleration pedal’s displacement and velocity, brake pedal’s displacement and velocity and valve status Gaussian Mixture – Hidden Markov Model(MGHMM) can recognize the unobservable driving intentions. The experiment is done in Simulink and the results show that MGHMM can recognize driving intentions as expected.

Engineering (General). Civil engineering (General) ,TA1-2040 - Abstract
Observing and analyzing runoff process is an important method to study the principle of runoff yield and concentration. However, natural rainfall is random and difficult to monitor the related runoff process timely, so most of the runoff processes analysis is based on the artificial rainfall experiments. In this study, the selected test site is located in Yongnian district, Hebei Province, China. Rainfall volume, rainfall peak, rainfall duration and peak ratio were considered as the key factors of designed rainfall type. Based on regional historical observed rainfall data from 1980 to 2012, the two mainly representative processes which was in flood season and non-flood season respectively, were calculated. The most typical rainfall process in each period was screened through two methods of characteristic frequency distribution. Furthermore, accuracy of rainfall intensity and uniformity of spatial and temporal distribution were selected as the criteria for correcting the artificial rainfall devices. This research is the foundation of the artificial runoff experiment and provide reference to regional climate change research and local water resources assessment.

Engineering (General). Civil engineering (General) ,TA1-2040 - Abstract
GMS was used to simulate the groundwater pollution status during the operation period of a coastal polyurethane factory. Based on the geological and hydraulic data, the groundwater flow field model and solute transport model were established using the MODFLOW and MT3DMS module respectively by which the potential area and concentration of pollutant were predicted and the extent of groundwater pollution in the study area was evaluated. The simulation and prediction results showed that under abnormal conditions, the groundwater environment would be affected. As the characteristic pollutants, COD and ethylene glycol mainly migrated along the direction of water flow and exceeded the standard for a certain period of time. The migration distance and pollution range of contaminants expanded with time, and the peak concentration decreased with the increase of diffusion distance. After 50 years, the potential pollution area of COD and ethylene glycol would reach 225651.2m2 and 210947.5m2 respectively. During the migration process, the concentration of pollutants in the groundwater gradually recovered to the background value, and the over-standard area was reduced to zero. The comprehensive prediction model and risk assessment method of this study can help to formulate practical prevention and control measures for the protection of groundwater environment.

Abstract ATP-citrate lyase (ACL), one of the lipogenic enzymes, catalyses the formation of acetyl-coenzyme A (CoA) involved in the synthesis of fatty acid and cholesterol. In pig, very little is known about the ACL gene. In this work, the mRNA differential display technique was used to analyse the differences in gene expression between Meishan and Large White pigs and the F1 hybrids of both direct and reciprocal crosses. Our results show that among the differentially expressed genes ACL is up-regulated in the backfat of the F1 hybrids. After cloning and analysing the fulllength cDNA and the 870 bp 5'-flanking sequence of the porcine ACL gene, a C/T mutation at position -97 bp upstream of the transcription site was detected. Luciferase activity detection showed that this mutation changed the transcriptional activity. In F1 hybrids, the heterozygous genotype CT was more frequent than the homozygous genotypes CC and TT. Real-time PCR analysis showed that in Meishan pigs, ACL mRNA expression was more abundant in individuals with genotype CT than in those with genotype CC or TT or in Large White pigs. These results indicate that the C/T mutation affects ACL mRNA expression, probably via the activator protein 2.

Engineering (General). Civil engineering (General) ,TA1-2040 - Abstract
The DC speed regulating system has many difficult issues such as system parameters and PID control parameters are difficult to determine. On the basis of model for a single closed-loop DC speed regulating system, this paper puts forward a method of PID parameters self-tuning based on the step response detection and reduced order equivalent. First, detect system step response and get response parameters. Then equal it to a second order system model, and achieve optimal PID control parameters based on optimal second order system to realize of PID parameters self-tuning. The PID parameters self-tuning process of DC speed regulating system is simulated with the help of MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show that the method is simple and effective. The system can obtain good dynamic and static performance when the PID parameters are applied to DC speed regulating system.
