The region of Hassi Ben Abdellah (Ouargla) is considered to be an important area for extending agricultural areas. The use of irrigation is inevitable for crops and groundwater are thus increasingly solicited; Where there are about 60 forges of water distributed between Albian and Mio-Pliocene. However, their aptitude for irrigation remains unknown. Our work has focused on the evaluation of the quality of these waters for which the waters of 6 boreholes were sampled and analyzed including three Albien and three Mio-Pliocene. The interpretation of the results of the analyzes carried out shows that the irrigation waters from the Albian boreholes are highly to very strongly saline, with pH tending towards alkalinity (> 7) and a SAR ranging from 4.49 to 7.66. Irrigation water from Mio-pliocene boreholes; Are excessively salty with an alkaline pH and a SAR which varies from 9.80 to 11.93. These waters also present a risk of toxicity by sodium ions and by chlorine ions; Which classified them as waterirrigation caused a"serious problem". [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
