Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
With the rapid development of industry and the increasing population, the balance of groundwater resources has been seriously damaged in China. Quantitative prediction and assessment of the groundwater environment have become necessary for the rational development, use and protection of groundwater resources. Taking the thermal power plant as an example, based on the engineering characteristics and possible pollution of the proposed construction project, the mathematical model of groundwater pollutant migration is established, and the groundwater pollution is predicted by an analytical method. COD, ammonia nitrogen and diesel fuel were selected as predictors to predict the pollutant migration after 100, and 1000 days of pollution occurrence, respectively. The results show that the pollution range will gradually expand with time. After 1000 days, the migration distance of pollutants such as COD and NH3-N reaches 80m, and the influence distance of pollutants such as diesel oil will gradually weaken with time. If not controlled and managed in time, the leakage of pollutants can cause serious pollution to groundwater during the operation of the electric field.

Weeds are one of the main factors affecting orchard yield, fruit quality and economic benefits. However, present methods have been lower effect and high labor intensity. To inhance the effect of weeds control on orchard, a new green and economic agent suitable for drone with choline chloride and eucalyptus oil as the main components was developed. Adopting optimized “3414” test design, the paper studied the prevention and control effect of this new weed control agent on 8 kinds of main weeds in the orchards of the Yellow-Huai Rivers. The results showed that T5 and T12 were significantly (P≤0.05) control the growth speed of 8 kinds of weeds, T4 was only inhibit the growth of Erigeron canadensis, Digitaria sanguinalis and Artemisia annua, T11 was only inhibit the growth of Tribulus terrestris, Humulus scandens and Cyperus rotundus, and T3 and T13 were promote the growth of weeds, which had the worst control effect among all treatments. Combined with the economic benefit analysis, the cost per 667m2 of weed control of T12 was 124 RMB, which was the most economical compared with manual weeding and mechanical weeding. Therefore, applying 30g choline chloride, 120 mL eucalyptus oil and 75g sucrose ester to each 667m2 is recommended to be popularized as a new green and economical weed control agent in the orchard production of the Yellow-Huai Rivers.

automatic coal volume measuring technology ,laser ,uav ,Social Sciences - Abstract
In coal-fired power plants, how to timely inventory coal storage, in order to optimize the coal stock, and improve coal blending operation, and then carry out economic dispatch scientifically and reasonably, has always been an important topic. The traditional way of artificial method has big error, high cost and serious waste of resources. Ultrasonic measurement technology is greatly affected by time difference and dust. Measurement technology based on computer vision requires interpolation to fit the correction model. The above methods all have large measurement errors and have been eliminated by the market. This paper mainly introduces coal measuring technologies based on laser and uav tilt photography which have been researched and applied more recently. Their respective installation methods, characteristics and applicable working occasions are analyzed. They have the common characteristic that the 3d coordinate point cloud data of coal yard surface needs to be solved before the 3d model of coal yard can be generated and the coal storage amount can be calculated. In the case that the 3d coordinate point cloud data of coal yard of power plant cannot be obtained directly, 3d reconstruction can be carried out by using 2d images of coal yard in coal report, or by using neural network model, and then the coal volume can be checked. This research idea is of great significance to realize effective and accurate supervision of coal storage in power plants..

For the surface defects of aluminum profiles, there are problems of multi-scale, small object and irregular shape. This paper proposes a defects detection algorithm based on improved feature pyramid. This method compresses and saves the feature information extracted by the backbone networks, and calculates the similarity between deep and shallow features, so as to alleviate the phenomenon of loss of feature information and weakening of feature expression ability, thereby solving the problem of multi-scale and small object. At the same time, deformable convolution is introduced to enhance the feature extraction ability of the model and alleviate the detection problems caused by irregularly shaped defects. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, Faster R-CNN was used as the basic detection algorithm to conduct ablation experiments, and compared with the classical detection algorithm, the accuracy rate was as high as 72.8%. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a good performance on the task of aluminum profile defects detection, and is superior to the comparative detection algorithms.

[Objective] Through in-depth study of traditional Gan residential buildings, it is found that in China’s traditional culture, nature is more important than architecture. Many people believe that architecture is like a man-made natural object, which can make people return to a feeling of living in nature, and is also a state of ideal life for many residents in China. [Methods] By using the analysis method, it is found that the traditional residential building structure of Ganpai is a bucket structure. The basic unit is the ‘enter’ relationship, which combines the ‘enter’ relationship, the adjustment of column spacing and the reduction of column to form the ‘+ -’ relationship. Through this way, a unique architectural group layout can be formed. [Conclusion] Therefore, we should fully combine traditional materials with modern information means to improve our traditional technology, so as to keep pace with the times, keep pace with the times and keep pace with the times.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
Cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels are increasingly used in mid-rise buildings or even taller structures in North America. However, prolonged exposure to moisture during construction and in service is a durability concern for most wood products including CLT. To investigate practical solutions for reducing on-site wetting of mass timber construction, CLT specimens with a range of moisture protection measures, in six groups were tested in the backyard of FPInnovations’ Vancouver laboratory from Oct. 2017 to Jan. 2018. This study investigates the wetting and drying behaviours of the tested CLT specimens through 2-D hygrothermal simulations. The simulations are performed for base specimens (no protection measures) of group 1 (without joint or plywood spline) and group 2 (with a butt joint and plywood spline). For group 1, three data sources of material properties are used to create the models, and the data that led to the best agreement between simulations and measurement are used for creating the models of group 2. For group 2, two types of hygrothermal models are created with or without considering the differences in water absorption between the transverse and the longitudinal grain orientations. In addition, rain penetration is taken into account for the joint area. It is found that the model with considering the differences between transverse and longitudinal grain orientations shows a better agreement than that without considering such differences.

In recent years, the significant improvement of inertial navigation, leaves the gravity disturbance as the important factor which affects the accuracy of inertial navigation. This paper focus on the compensation for gravity disturbance with gravity spherical harmonic model, especially the optimal degree of gravity spherical harmonic model with which to calculate the gravity disturbance. The effect of gravity disturbance on inertial navigation is analysed based on the amplitude-frequency response characteristics of inertial navigation error differential equation, then the dominantly influential frequency band of gravity disturbance can be found which is the target of compensation. Combination the dominantly influential frequency band with the spatial resolution of the Earth’s gravity spherical harmonic model EGM2008 which is used to calculate the gravity disturbance, the optimal degree can be determined based on an algorithm proposed in this paper. Finally, shipborne inertial navigation experiment confirms the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Engineering (General). Civil engineering (General) ,TA1-2040 - Abstract
The redundant rotational inertial navigation systems can satisfy not only the high-accuracy but also the high-reliability demands of underwater vehicle on navigation system. However, different systems are usually independent, and lack of information fusion. A reduced-order Kalman filter is designed to fuse the navigation information output of redundant rotational navigation systems which usually include a dual-axis rotational inertial navigation system being master system and a single-axis rotational inertial navigation system being hot-backup system. The azimuth gyro drift of single-axis rotational inertial navigation system can be estimated by the designed filter, whereby the position error caused by that can be compensated with the aid of designed position error prediction model. As a result, the improved performance of single-axis rotational inertial navigation system can guarantee the position accuracy in the case of dual-axis system failure. Semi-physical simulation and experiment verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In order to improve the specific capacity and energy density of activated carbon electrode materials activated carbon was modified by surface treatment using hydrogen peroxide. The modified carbons were characterized the changes of pore structure and functional groups before and after modification by N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms and FTIR spectroscopy. The three electrode system was assembled with modified activated carbon as electrode materials and Na2SO4 as the electrolyte. The influence of surface modification on the performance of EDLCs was studied by galvanostatic charge-discharge, cyclic voltammetry, and alternating current impedance. The results show that the surface chemistry of the modified activated carbon material has changed, the specific surface area has changed and the pore size has not changed much with the introduction of new oxygen-containing functional groups. The specific capacity of the activated carbon material modified by 5h is 75F/g, which is 86.1% higher than that before the modification. It can be seen that the change of functional group after the modification of activated carbon can help to increase the specific capacity.

Abstract ATP-citrate lyase (ACL), one of the lipogenic enzymes, catalyses the formation of acetyl-coenzyme A (CoA) involved in the synthesis of fatty acid and cholesterol. In pig, very little is known about the ACL gene. In this work, the mRNA differential display technique was used to analyse the differences in gene expression between Meishan and Large White pigs and the F1 hybrids of both direct and reciprocal crosses. Our results show that among the differentially expressed genes ACL is up-regulated in the backfat of the F1 hybrids. After cloning and analysing the fulllength cDNA and the 870 bp 5'-flanking sequence of the porcine ACL gene, a C/T mutation at position -97 bp upstream of the transcription site was detected. Luciferase activity detection showed that this mutation changed the transcriptional activity. In F1 hybrids, the heterozygous genotype CT was more frequent than the homozygous genotypes CC and TT. Real-time PCR analysis showed that in Meishan pigs, ACL mRNA expression was more abundant in individuals with genotype CT than in those with genotype CC or TT or in Large White pigs. These results indicate that the C/T mutation affects ACL mRNA expression, probably via the activator protein 2.

In this paper, we report a simple but effective algorithm to estimate the undetermined coefficients in the formula of soil water electrical conductivity value by the soil apparent electrical conductivity method. By doing so, the coefficients can be accurately obtained to further calculate the soil water electrical conductivity. According to the process of calculating the soil solution electrical conductivity based on the apparent conductivity of soil, the error of the calculation equation is effectively calculated by the two order curve fitting method. Meanwhile the genetic algorithm is adopted to reduce the influence of the data error generated by the proposed algorithm, and improve the accuracy of the data as well. The experimental results demonstrate that the solution by the proposed algorithm can be effectively obtained and the error change is in one direction simultaneously. With these advantages, we can use soil water electrical conductivity to calculate the content of soil salt.

In order to find out the change rule of SPAD value in lettuce leaves and the rapid, non-destructive and more accurate detection method of chlorophyll content in lettuce leaves under intercropping mode, the effect of intercropping on SPAD value in lettuce leaves was studied and the correlation model between chlorophyll content and SPAD value was established. The results show that the SPAD value of lettuce leaves increases at first and then decreases slowly with the development of the days of aerosol culture, and intercropping has obvious advantage in the middle and late stages of aerosol culture. At the same time, the results show that the regression equations of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll content with SPAD value are best fitted by power equation, exponential equation and power equation respectively, and the coefficients of determination are 0.8302,0.6719 and 0.8503 respectively. The models are verified. It is found that the predicted value and the measured value of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll content have a good correlation, and there is no significant difference, which shows that the regression models have a good prediction effect on chlorophyll content. The results provide a theoretical basis for the effect of intercropping on SPAD value of lettuce leaves and provide a reference method for rapid, nondestructive and more accurate detection of chlorophyll content in lettuce leaves.

The purpose of this article is to investigate the effect of different bending angles and traction directions of the traction arm on the stability of the titanium plate for bone-anchored maxillary protraction (BAMP). The titanium plate models with different bending angles of the upper and lower jaws were modelled in three dimensions, where the bending angles were 90°, 120°, 135°, 150°, 180° and recorded as U1-U5 and L1-L5 respectively. Finite element analysis was performed on the titanium plates with different structural parameters to complete the structural design selection study of the titanium plates. The displacement limit was defined and different angular tensile forces were applied to record the equivalent stress and displacement of the titanium plates under each working condition. A total of 120 sets of orthogonal simulation tests were designed, which showed that the stress values at U2, U3 and U4 are smaller at traction angles of 135° (66.152 MPa), 155° (59.015 MPa) and 175° (55.589 MPa) respectively. The displacement is correspondingly smaller at tensile angles of 135° (0.0073 mm), 150° (0.0056 mm) and 160° (0.0058 mm). L2 has the smallest stress value (50.491 MPa) and displacement (0.0062 mm) at a tension angle of 120°. Therefore, it is recommended to design a titanium plate with a mandibular traction arm bending angle of 120° for BAMP, and the traction arm bending angle of the maxillary titanium plate can be flexibly designed according to the clinical traction direction.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
MXenes were outstanding materials for aqueous environment remediation, MXenes with a high capacity for radionuclides uranium (U(VI)) remains a challenge. In this study, a noval polydopamine functionalized MXene (defined as MXene@PDA) was successfully synthesised and evaluated for the aggregation towards U(VI) from wastewater. Versatile PDA owing functional groups provided more sites to capture contaminant ions. The mechanism research with MXene@PDA was explored by batch experiments toghther with the XPS analyses. The results revealed MXene@PDA with abundant functional groups exhibited superior elimination ability (90.4 mg/g) at pH = 5.0. The mechanism of U(VI) on MXene@PDA was primarily ascribed to the surface complexation force between the UO22+ and -OH, NH2 groups. The PDA modification of MXene materials are proved to be excellent materials for the extraction of radionuclides in the aqueous solution.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
With the development of society, crowds in public buildings are dense, and the subsequent spread of diseases in places with high population density has attracted widespread attention. In the real situation, the spread of the disease has its complexity, such as the influence of factors such as the movement of people and the intervention of external measures, so it is necessary to further refine the description of the process of infection transmission. Based on the social force model, this article focuses on the impact of microscopic crowd movement in public places on the dynamics of infection. Taking a typical pedestrian exit process in a subway station as an example, we numerically simulated the infection problem among small-scale people in public places, observed the impact of pedestrian movement characteristics on infection transmission, put forward corresponding prevention and control measures, and verified the effectiveness of the measures.

Lonicerae japonicae Flos is a traditional Chinese medicine that has the effect is used for clearing away heat and detoxification. When stored improperly, this medicine is susceptible to mold growth, causing fungal contamination, reducing its safety and clinical efficacy. In order to understand the fungal contamination of Lonicerae japonicae Flos, we utilized the Illumina NovaSeq6000 platform to characterize fungal communities associated with five moldy Lonicerae japonicae Flos samples from warehouses in China via the sequencing of fungal internal transcribed spacer 2 regions. These analyses led us to identify 3 phyla, 5 classes, 7 orders, 9 families, 13 genera, and 20 species of fungi in these samples. Of these, Ascomycota was the dominant phylum, while Cysticomycetes, Ascomycetes, and Staphylococci were relatively dominant at the class level, and the most prevalent genera were Aspergillus, Penicillium, Xanthomonas, Microcystis, Talaromyces, and Erysiphe with relative abundance values of 79%, 21%, 94%, 100%, and 98%. In summary, in the present study we conducted the ITS-based comprehensive characterization of fungal communities associated with Lonicerae japonicae Flos for the first time. This approach aims to facilitate the early detection of fungal contamination in Lonicerae japonicae Flos, providing a theoretical basis for the study of anti-mold technologies.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
In the structural design of light wood structures in recent years, people have paid more and more attention to estimating the lateral deformation of buildings. In order to better estimate the lateral deformation of the balsa shear wall without hold-downs, this paper carried out the lateral loading test of the wood shear wall and the monotonic loading test of the nail joint. A formula for lateral load-deformation of nail nodes suitable for engineering entities is proposed. A method for calculating the lateral deformation of wood shear walls without hold-downs is provided. The method is based on the formula for lateral deformation of light-weight timber structure shear walls in China's Code for Design of Timber Structures (GB50005–2017) [1]. This method complements the domestic wood structure regulations very well.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
In order to promote the coordination of various forms of energy resources such as electric energy, heat energy, and cold energy, and to achieve complementary and efficient use of different energy sources, a method for optimizing the allocation of the capacity of a regional comprehensive energy system that takes into account the trading of electric and thermal energy is proposed. The energy interaction costs of the system and the grid heat network are included in the total cost. The optimization goal is a multi-objective function that comprehensively considers system economics, environmental protection, reliability, and interactive power fluctuations. Based on the energy hub, the capacity of each energy supply equipment in the area is optimized. Time-sharing electricity price and typical daily system economic operation are solved by genetic algorithm. Finally, an example of a park is used to verify its effectiveness. The results show that the proposed method can effectively reduce the system cost and reasonably avoid the limitations caused by the single decision factors in the system planning stage, thus providing a reference for the actual system planning and design.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
In order to accurately measure and evaluate the quality of the roller profile of the ultra-long flexible blade bearing, an error evaluation model is established for the arc segment and the straight segment of the roller based on the least square method, and then an overall quality evaluation model is proposed based on these two error models. Through the simulation of a standard wind turbine cylindrical roller bearing, it is found that the quality evaluation model established in this work can effectively measure and evaluate the contour line of the wind turbine bearing’s roller. The overall absolute error is 0.0319 mm, which is consistent with the set random error. The overall quality evaluation model is also valid for other types of bearings commonly used in the wind turbine, which include arc and straight segments, and can be used to evaluate the error quality of the roller profile of wind turbine bearings.

Environmental sciences ,GE1-350 - Abstract
Integrated energy system (IES) is an effective way to realize the efficient utilization of energy. Under the deregulated electricity market, IES operator gains profits by providing customers with energy service, including electricity, heat or cooling energy. With the deepening of market reform, higher penetration rate of renewable energy, economic risks embed in the IES. Based on this, an optimal scheduling model of regional IES considering uncertainties is proposed, aiming at maximizing the profits. Scenario analysis method has been adopted to model the uncertainties: Markov-Chain-Monte-Carlo (MCMC) sampling method, which has a better performance in fitting the probability distribution, is utilized to generate scenarios; K-means clustering method is applied to narrow down the sampling sets. By replacing the parameters in the deterministic model with the sampling sets, a series of optimal results can be achieved. The case study shows that the cooling storage tank can improve the economic benefits about 4.97% by converting electricity to cooling energy at lower price period and releasing energy at peak hours. Besides, through the proposed optimization model, operators can have a straight understanding of the venture brought by the uncertainties and a more reliable scheduling result is formed for reference.
