The article presents information on the book "La réingénierie de l'État. Vers un appauvrissement de la gouvernance québécoise," by Christian Rouillard, Eric Montpetit and Isabelle Fortier. The book comments on the liberal government of Quebec. It presents the historical measures of the governorship and how they have evolved and transformed from the past. The book creates a political reform model and shows how it can be a threat to the political development. It indicates that political movements and public interventions have changed the political environment of the country.

The article focuses on the rational choice theory (RCT) and some of the problems and controversies related to it. Certain weaknesses were attributed by sociologists to the RCT, primarily, the acts of consummation, such as lewdness, herd behavior and irrational behavior in general. RCT presumes that the individuals act and reflect in the functioning of their own interests. Sociologists presume that it is useful to classify the actions and thoughts in two distinct categories: that which the RCT can explain and that which it cannot explain.
