A computer-based map is considered a crucial foundational resource for conducting comprehensive carbon budget studies in northern latitudes. Detailed soil maps were created for the intensive study sites located in the forest-tundra and tundra regions using QuickBird 61 cm panchromatic and 2.4 m multispectral resolution satellite images, alongside a database containing morphological descriptions and analytical data from 153 soil profiles, long-term permafrost monitoring sites, and meteorological records. The results of GIS-analysis indicate that approximately 60% of all infrastructure is situated in areas with a "high risk" of permafrost degradation. These areas, defined as zones with isolated to discontinuous permafrost coverage ranging from 3% to 90% and ground temperatures ranging from 0 to -2 °C, are expected to experience significant thawing within the next few decades to a century. Long-term measurements taken at CALM (Circumpolar Active Layer Monitoring) sites in the region have shown a continuous increase in thaw depths, resulting in a lowering of the permafrost table. This trend poses significant challenges for permafrost engineering and highlights the need for long-term investments in arctic infrastructure that will yield returns over time. The database has been utilized to assess soil organic carbon stocks.

The article examines the comfort of the environment in rural and urban areas. To assess the level of environmental comfort, methods were used to determine the degree of greening of populated areas, the state of tree plantations within green public areas, the aggressiveness of the visual environment and the quality index of the urban environment. Based on the results of the research, the comfort of the environment in rural and urban areas was compared and conclusions were drawn.

The article deals with the problems of aggressiveness and homogeneity of the visual environment of settlements. The calculation of the coefficient of aggressiveness for the visual environment in the village of Maryanskaya along the streets of Severnaya and Shevchenko was carried out. The conclusion is made about the relevance of the problems under consideration for rural areas and cities.

Total concentrations of Hg in soils and the narrow-leaved fireweed Chamaenerion angustifolium L., as well as the forms of Hg presence in soils by the method of sequential extractions were examined to study the processes of mobilization-immobilization of Hg in the soils of the territory of the chlor-alkali plant sludge storage and the features of the bioaccumulation of this element in herbs. The determination of Hg in all samples was carried out by the atomic absorption method. High concentrations of Hg in soils near the sludge storage have been established. In almost all soil samples the amount of Hg is above the regional background. Fractionation showed that Hg in soils is found mainly in organic, strongly bound and sulfide fractions. Due to the low concentrations of Hg mobile fractions, water- and acid-soluble, a relatively low accumulation of Hg in Chamaenerion angustifolium L. was found, which was also facilitated by the barrier properties of the herb roots. Nevertheless, the accumulation of predominantly organic and strongly bound forms of Hg in soils indicates a high potential for Hg mobilization from these fractions due to changes in various physicochemical and biogeochemical properties of soils.

The main purpose of ice-resistant coatings designed for icebreakers and ice navigation ships is the ability to protect of the ship’s hull in the most severe operating conditions. The special coatings certified by the Classification Societies for ice abrasion can provide this protection. These coatings allow to reduce the required thickness of the ship’s hull and reduce the construction weight of the ships. On the other hand, these coatings must have a low friction coefficient, which reduce the frictional resistance of the hull on ice and fuel consumption, increase the service life of the ship and power plant, reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and affect to the operational and economic efficiency of the ship. In this paper, we present the results of experimental tests of friction coefficient on ice for various types of ice-resistant coatings and analysis the influence of ice-resistant coatings characteristics to the energy efficiency of ice-going ships.

The resort town Sochi is a municipality on the territory of Russia in the Krasnodar Krai. The location in the mountainous area and the proximity to the sea makes the Sochi city special in terms of the variety of possibilities for the resort services provision. In addition to a beach holiday on the Black Sea coast, Sochi is a place of attraction for the lovers of outdoor activities in the mountains: alpine skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and tourism. Historically, the city of Sochi is an all-Russian health resort, because in addition to favorable climatic conditions and the proximity of the sea, there are unique sources of mineral water and the balneological resort Matsesta, where tourists from all over the country and from abroad come for treatment all year round. More details about the current state of the region, plans and development prospects are presented in the scientific works [1-4, 5-7].

The purpose of the research is to study and systematize the solutions of facade structures for prefabricated and precast-monolithic construction. The article considers single-layer, two-layer and three-layer external wall panels. An analysis of design solutions was carried out in terms of ensuring energy efficiency requirements. Possible options for finishing buildings with external walls made of large-sized elements were analyzed, taking into account their design solutions. The scientific novelty of the article lies in considering the issue of facade decoration both from the point of view of architectural expressiveness and energy efficiency. It also compares the most common types of external wall panels based on the thermal characteristics and geometric dimensions of the materials used and, as a result, their economic feasibility. As a result of the analysis, it can be concluded that modern solutions for prefabricated external walls have great importance for the implementation of design solutions and finishing the facade of buildings from large-size prefabricated elements. The best indicators of all the options considered are the two-layer hinged and three-layer external wall panels.

The article describes the results of the study of dynamic characteristics of the manipulator of technological industrial robot. In addition, formulas for determining the forces of the control action on the links of the manipulator when performing specific technological methods of finishing the surfaces of the part are obtained. The influence of control forces on the functioning and technical capabilities of the manipulator of technological industrial robot is revealed. Standard layout schemes of manipulators of technological industrial robots were developed, and the analysis of their dynamic characteristics with the determination of the control action forces is carried out. This made it possible to develop and create a specific design of the robot for finishing turning and diamond smoothing of shaft surfaces in the structure of the automatic line.

The paper reflects important features and developments of doping affair with Russian sportsmen as a media scandal. This communicative event is introduced through the current examples taken from the German national and regional press. The mechanisms of the formation and topicalization of the event are revealed in the paper. The global context of the scandal is covered and exampled by co-referential areas “Sport” and “Olympics”. Their presentation and interpretation occur under conditions of so-called “fake news” and “media performance” strategies. The examples presented in chronological order reflect the communicative dynamics of the media event ‘doping scandal’. The remarkable features of the distinguishing journalistic style and informative media genres are covered in the paper.
