This study aims to determine what the students at KOU Sport Sciences Faculty think about e-sports via using metaphors. In accordance with this aim, 293 volunteering students were given a questionnaire which evaluates their opinions about e-sports via metaphors. According to the results, which was applied by descriptive analysis, 47,4% of the students at Sport Sciences Faculty admitted that they hadn’t heard of e-sports before. 56,9 % of the female students and 51,3% of the male students stated they had heard of this concept. The most frequently used metaphors by all the students were found to be ‘’digital technological environment’’ (9,2%); ‘’basic need’’ (7,5%); and ‘’entertainment-games’’ ( 6,8%). The results for female students were as follows: The rate for ‘’basic need’’ 9,2% ; ‘’positive feeling’’ 6,2 %; and ‘’entertainment-games’’ 4,2%. As for the male students; 11% of them used metaphors for ‘’digital technological environment’’; 7,5% ‘’entertainment-games’’ and 7% “basic need”

The purpose of this study is to investigate the digital addiction levels of the students studying at the Faculty of Sports of Kocaeli University in terms of variables such as their gender, age, school type, parental education level, income status, class level and success level. To this end, following the permission from the faculty administration, the Digital Addiction Scale, developed by Arslan, Kırık, Karaman and Çetinkaya (2015), was administered to a random sample of voluntary students. Data was analyzed by using the SPSS version 25.0. The results showed that digital addiction levels of the students in terms of their gender, age, school type, income level, parental education level, class level and success level were not significant; however, significant differences were found in favor of those who played sports only in class regarding playing sports, and those who attended the evening education regarding type of education programs.

In this study, in a football competition, which is one of the most interesting sports encounters today, the state of the decision-making strategies of referees, who play an important role in terms of final scores, is investigated. In line with this aim, efforts have been made to determine the decision-making strategies of Kocaeli football referees. Whether the decision-making strategies determined have changed according to variables such as gender, age, marital status, educational status, economic income, work done outside of refereeing, professional experience and refereeing years. For this purpose, “Decision Strategies Scale and Personal Information Form” developed by Bacanlı and Kuzgun [1], have been applied to a total of 117 football referees, 11 female and 106 male active football referees in Kocaeli. The results obtained from the scale applications were evaluated in the SPSS 21.00 statistical package program. As a result of the analyzes made; Subscales of decision-making strategies of referees are not significant in terms of gender, marital status, education, work experience, work done outside refereering, refereeing years; while it is not meaningful in terms of unstable, logical and dependent decision making sub-scales when compared to the economic level, it has been seen that only internal tepic decision making increases significantly when economic level is lower.
