The modelisation of energetic performance (Heat of formation and specific impulse) of new highly nitrogen compounds based on tetrazene bones led to the selection of new focuses for space propulsion application in order to replace hydrazines (MMH and UDMH). In one hand, study on experimental faisability and isolation of new compounds showed the sensibility of azobistetrazole derivatives to impact and friction test (BAM choc et BAM friction) and in another hand, tetrazoline and tetrazolidine derivatives were not syntheses by catalytic hydrogenation or classical reduction of tetrazole derivatives. In this study, we achieved to synthesis new alkyltetrazenes by direct azidonation of 1,1',4,4'-tetramethyl-2-tetrazene (TMTZ): it was the 1,4-di(azidomethyl)-1',4'-dimethyl-2-tetrazene (DADMTZ) and the 1-azidomethyl-1',4,4' trimethyl-2-tetrazene (MATMTZ). Synthesis optimization led to the optimal conditions for total and exclusive conversion of TMTZ in mono- or di-azido derivatives. Thermal stability was studied at different temperature and the structure of the di-azido derivatives was confirmed by NOESY experiment in association with modelisation, La modélisation des performances énergétiques (enthalpie de formation et impulsion spécifique) de nouveaux composés fortement azotés basés sur le squelette du tétrazène (N-N=N-N) a permis de sélectionner de nouvelles cibles pour la propulsion spatiale dans le but de remplacer les hydrazines (MMH ou UDMH) dans les systèmes à biergols stockables. L'étude expérimentale de la faisabilité de synthèse et d'isolement de ces nouveaux composés a mis en évidence le caractère très sensible des dérivés azobistétrazolés vis-à-vis des stimuli mécaniques (BAM choc et BAM friction) et électrostatiques (ES) d'une part, et l'impossibilité d'accéder à des dérivés tétrazolines ou tétrazolidines par hydrogénation catalytique ou par réduction du cycle tétrazole, d'autre part. Cette étude a également permis l'obtention de dérivés mono- et di-azoturés d'alkyltétrazènes par une ix-azoturation directe du 1,1',4,4'-tétraméthyl-2-tétrazène (TMTZ) : il s'agit du 1-azidométhyl-1',4,4'-triméthyl-2-tétrazène (MATMTZ) et du 1,4-di(azidométhyl)-1',4'- diméthyl-2-tétrazène (1,4-DADMTZ), respectivement. L'optimisation de la synthèse a permis de définir les conditions optimales pour une conversion totale et exclusive du TMTZ, en dérivé mono- ou di-azoturé, dont la stabilité thermique a été étudiée à différentes températures. La structure du dérivé di-azoturé a été confirmée par des analyses NOESY en association avec des calculs de distances interatomiques. This work, funded by the CIBLE-Rhône-Alpes Region, in partnership with the HERAKLES-SAFRAN group, aims to develop a new method for extracting and purifying hydrazine N2H4, for space applications. This monopropellant must be of very high purity, with an upper mass composition of 99.5% hydrazine and a carbon content of less than 30 ppm.The first part of this study allowed us to identify the reactions of formation and degradation to establish a global kinetic model and determine the guiding parameters of synthesis. Knowledge of the compositions of reaction liquors function of operating conditions of the synthesis, has allowed us to position, on leaving the reactor, the overall mixing point in the diagrams of ternary and quaternary phases in order to define the optimum extraction conditions.The second part concerns the detailed thermodynamic study of the new method of extraction, which is, not to extract excess ammonia from the reaction mixture but maintain the in situ to extract the hydrazine in the liquid phase separation -liquid by solvent effect. The aim ultimately is to get a virtually anhydrous ammonia phase so as to eliminate multiple distillations and complex extraction and purification encountered in the traditional process. This new strategy is based on the existence of a miscibility gap in the liquid state, in the H2O-NH3-H2O-NaOH ternary system and N2H4-NH3-NaOH quaternary system at a pressure of between 15 and 20 bar.The last part deals with the process engineering component. The operation of kinetic model and phase diagrams involved allowed us to determine the optimum conditions of synthesis and isolation, to calculate the composition of the material flow at the end of each unit operation and compare them with previous industrial processes . The process diagrams for each option have been prepared and analyzed at cost, safety and specifications obtained useful product, Ce travail, effectué dans le cadre d’un financement CIBLE-Région Rhône-Alpes, en partenariat avec le groupe HERAKLES-SAFRAN, a pour objectif la mise au point d’un nouveau procédé d’extraction et de purification de l’hydrazine N2H4, pour des applications spatiales. La première partie de cette étude nous a permis d’identifier les réactions de formation et de dégradation en vue d’établir un modèle cinétique global et de déterminer les paramètres directeurs de la synthèse. La connaissance des compositions des liqueurs réactionnelles fonction des conditions opératoires de la synthèse, nous a permis de positionner, au sortir des réacteurs, le point de mélange global dans les diagrammes de phases ternaires et quaternaires en vue de définir les conditions optimales d’extraction. La seconde partie concerne l'étude thermodynamique détaillée de la nouvelle voie d'extraction, qui consiste, non pas à extraire l’ammoniac en excès du milieu réactionnel mais à le maintenir, in situ, pour extraire l’hydrazine lors de la démixtion liquide-liquide par effet de solvant. L’objectif, in fine, est d’obtenir une phase ammoniacale quasi-anhydre, de manière à éliminer les multiples distillations et opérations complexes d’extraction et de purification rencontrées dans le procédé traditionnel. Cette nouvelle stratégie repose sur l’existence d’une lacune de miscibilité à l’état liquide, dans les systèmes ternaire H2O-NH3-NaOH et quaternaire H2O-N2H4-NH3-NaOH sous une pression comprise entre 15 et 20 bar. La dernière partie aborde le volet génie des procédés. L’exploitation pertinente du modèle cinétique et des diagrammes de phases impliqués nous a permis de déterminer les conditions optimales de synthèse et d’isolement, de calculer la composition des flux de matière au sortir de chaque opération unitaire et de les comparer aux procédés industriels antérieurs. High nitrogen content energetic compounds, envisioned as a first step towards High EnergyDensity Materials (HEDM) for space propulsion, were prepared from hydrazine derivatives. Indeed,the formation of nitrogen gas (N−−−N) from an N−−N bond yields a lot of energy and even morefrom an N−N bond. Hence, an amination reaction on unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH)yielded a 2,2-dimethyltriazanium salt, containing three consecutive single-bonded nitrogen atoms.The initial inorganic anion was then exchanged with the following nitrogen-rich anions in order toyield energetic salts: 5-aminotetrazolate, 5-nitrotetrazolate, 5,5’-azobistetrazolate, azide, nitroformateand dinitramide. For safety reasons, the ion metathesis of the azide salt was conductedby electrodialysis and the sensitivities of all compounds towards both impact and friction wereevaluated in accordance with standard procedures. Reliable heats of formation of the compoundswith the highest nitrogen content were obtained by oxygen bomb calorimetry. These values werethen computed with quantum mechanical methods and compared with known procedures reportedin the literature, whose theoretical backgrounds have been discussed. Consequently, theprocedure resulting in the best match between calculated and experimental heats of formation wasidentified. The precision of the method used herein exceeds that of recent results from renownedresearch groups in this field. Thus, the various techniques introduced during the course of thiswork will enable our laboratory to progress more efficiently in this area of research., La synthèse de composés énergétiques fortement azotés, à partir des réactifs et des processusissus de la chimie des hydrazines, a permis une nouvelle approche de composés de type HEDM(High Energy Density Materials) pour la propulsion spatiale. En effet, la formation de diazote(N−−−N) à partir d’une liaison N−−N libère de grandes quantités d’énergie, et davantage depuis uneliaison N−N. L’amination de la diméthylhydrazine dissymétrique (UDMH) a conduit à un sel de2,2-diméthyltriazanium, possédant trois atomes d’azote reliés uniquement par des liaisons sigma.L’anion inorganique de départ a ensuite été échangé avec des anions énergétiques à plus haut tauxd’azote — 5-aminotétrazolate, 5-nitrotétrazolate, 5,5’-azobistétrazolate, azoture, nitroformiate etdinitroamidure. Pour des raisons de sécurité, l’échange d’ions impliquant l’anion azoture a étéréalisé par électrodialyse et la sensibilité à l’impact ainsi qu’à la friction de ces sels a été évaluéeselon les normes en vigueur. L’analyse des composés les plus riches en azote par calorimétrie decombustion a permis de déterminer leurs enthalpies de formation de manière fiable. Ces dernièresont ensuite été modélisées par des méthodes de chimie quantique et comparées aux procéduresreportées dans la littérature, dont les aspects théoriques ont été discutés. La procédure conduisantaux enthalpies de formation en meilleure adéquation avec les valeurs expérimentales a étéidentifiée ; sa précision excède d’ailleurs celle de résultats récents d’équipes reconnues. Ainsi, lesmoyens mis en place dans le cadre de cette thèse permettront de progresser plus efficacementdans cette nouvelle thématique au laboratoire.
