Financialization of urban planning, globalization, and metropolization processes participate in the rapid verticalization of urban spaces, in particular of city centers and new peripheral centralities. This paper proposes a theoretical and critical essay from a neo-Marxist approach, and aims to establish a typology about the links between capitalism changes and urban forms, in particular regarding the verticalized one. The main hypothesis asserts that the actual phase of capitalism (which has been reaching what Mike Davis calls the "Dubai stage", succeeding to an industrial then a Fordist one the paradigms of which would be Paris for one, New York for the other) produces a particular urban form: the vertical city. In a first part, the article portrays of three urban ideal-types, which illustrate the relations between capital and urbanization and their evolution, taking into account different criteria, mainly intensity of capital, and scale at which capital is mobilezed. A second part reflects on about the diversity of verticalization processes, distinguishing emerging verticalization and renascent verticalisations, and using a critical distinction between exceptional/ordinary. The article ends with a typology of urban verticality, in order to show the diversity of vertical cities, by crossing two couples of notions: ordinary/exceptional and banal/remarkable. Neonatal genital prolapse is an uncommon entity. It is usually associated with birth defects of the central nervous system.
