AbstractThe issue of combating noise and achieving legal protection for public tranquility is vital and important, in light of the modern technology that causes noise, and the increasing violations in using the horn, besides the misunderstanding of the freedom in practicing crafts without respecting others tranquility. The research aims to demonstrate the need of administration's intervene to protect public tranquility through its authority, consistent with the enforced legal legislation, with an indication of shortcomings in those legislations, especially in granting the authority to administration to withdraw the license and grant incentive rewards for environmentally friendly activities to implement thus legislations. Furthermore to insight the administration to its powers in those legislations and protecting public tranquility as one of the elements of the environmental public system, also to grant it more powers in this field.

This paper reviews criminal liability for environmental pollution offences. This is one of the most important requirements in the world in general and Algeria in particular. Living in a safe and clean environment free of pollution is a pillar of society's survival in a context related to what is known as environmental security. The crime of environmental pollution and the resulting criminal liability are recent topics in the field of legal studies - particularly the criminal area - since tribal intervention to provide prior protection and activate awareness-raising are important for the success of the environment's criminal protection. It was as much about who was responsible for the crime as it was necessary to preserve the elements of the environment in general and the air in particular.

Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisi (ÇKE), ekonomik büyümenin çevresel kirliliği arttırdığını, ancak refah düzeyi arttıkça çevreyi korumaya yönelik bilincin de oluşmasından dolayı kirliliğin bir noktadan sonra düşüşe geçtiğini söylemektedir. Bu çalışma, ÇKE’nin BRICS-T ülkelerinde geçerli olup olmadığını araştırma amacıyla yapılmıştır. 1991-2017 dönemine ait yıllık veriler statik panel veri yöntemleriyle analiz edilmiş, Rassal Etkiler Modeli’nin geçerliliği tespit edilmiştir. Analiz bulguları BRICS-T ülkelerinde çevresel kirlenme ile kişi başına gelir arasında ters U-şeklinde bir ilişki olduğunu ve ÇKE’nin geçerliliğini doğrulamıştır. Ayrıca çalışmada finansal gelişmişliğin çevresel kirlenmeyi azaltıcı, ekonominin dışa açıklığının, ihracat ve ithalatın ise çevresel kirlenmeyi artırıcı bir etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür.

This article examines the influence of environmental factors on migration processes in Kyrgyzstan, taking into account their socio-economic and political aspects. The article explores the relationship between them, with particular emphasis on internal migration from agricultural areas to urban centers. The causes and consequences of migration, including rural-to-urban emigration and internal population movements, are analyzed in the context of a deteriorating environmental situation and a changing climate. Particular attention is paid to the interaction of environmental factors with socio-economic conditions such as employment, income levels and access to resources. The influence of migration flows on the political situation in the country and possible strategies for managing these processes are also considered. Ultimately, the article highlights key challenges and opportunities for creating sustainable policies that promote environmental sustainability and socio-economic development in Kyrgyzstan.

The article examines the impact of environmental pollution factors on life expectancy in Uzbekistan. The study is based on econometric modeling methods, including panel data on the country’s regions for the period of 2010-2023. The area of protected natural areas, the volume of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere, the provision of doctors and hospital beds, and access to drinking water were utilized as factors influencing life expectancy. Despite the identification of some relationships, the modeling results showed limited explanatory power of the selected models, which is associated with the low quality and incompleteness of statistical data. The study revealed significant regional differentiation and polarization in environmental indicators, which requires measures to improve the quality of data and take into account additional factors.

This article examines the relationship between economic development and environmental pollution in Uzbekistan using the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) model. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the dynamics of emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere depending on indicators of economic activity, such as gross domestic product (GDP) per capita and coal consumption. To evaluate the data, the methods of correlation and regression analysis were used. The results of the study show that there is an inverse relationship between the level of economic development and the degree of environmental pollution after reaching a certain level of per capita income. The findings highlight the need to correctly account for environmental costs in economic policy and provide recommendations for improving the environmental situation in the country in the context of achieving sustainable development goals.

Background: The shortage of burial space in urban centres has become limited as most allocated spaces have been filled, with limited alternatives for burial. The review article has a perspective of assessing the impact of cross cultural values and traditions of burial space with comparative dimensions of beliefs of burial versus cremation. Objectives: The study evaluated the differences in beliefs and the transition dynamics of traditional burial practices versus the non – availability of burial space. Method: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta – Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines search strategy was applied in the review. Databases that were searched included ProQuest (1764 articles reviewed and screened), EBSCO (120 articles reviewed and screened), PubMed (565 articles reviewed and screened), Taylor and Francis Online (150 articles reviewed and screened) and African Journals Online (25 articles reviewed and screened). A search strategy that combined the Boolean operator ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ and text words representing key concepts of our study: cross – cultural values, traditions on cremation and burial beliefs and practices was applied. A total number of 56 articles met the criteria for the discourse and made contributions to the review on this paper. Conclusions: This article has shown that there are several key issues at stake for the cremation practice in Zimbabwe. Chief among them being the traditional, religious beliefs and practices. Furthermore, the majority of the people in Zimbabwe still have the same belief system of the burial processes which shows limited acceptance of the cremation process despite circumstances that may exist such as lack of burial space, environmental pollution aspects and burial cost reduction.

Araştırmanın amacı, okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının çevre kirliliği algılarının resimleri üzerinden incelenerek ortaya konulmasıdır. Araştırmada, nitel veri toplama yöntemlerinden biri olan sanat temelli araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya, bir anaokulunun 5 yaş grubundan 17 çocuk katılmıştır. Veriler, çocuklardan alınan resim ve yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşme yoluyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde göstergebilimsel yöntem kullanılarak çocukların çevre kirliliği algıları ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmacılar tarafından resimler tek tek incelenerek her bir gösterge belirlenmiş, belirlenen her göstergenin karşılığında ise gösterilenler kodlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, çocukların çevre kirliliğine yönelik çizdikleri resimlerde nesne, insan, araç, mekan, sembol, hayvan, besin maddesi, durum göstergelerini kullandıkları görülmektedir. Bu göstergelerin gösterenleri genellikle çöp kutuları, geri dönüşüm kutuları, besin artıkları, şişeler, çocuk, insan, adam ve kadından oluşmaktadır. Mekan olarak dış mekanlar ağırlıktayken; besin maddeleri olarak da paketli yiyecekler, sebze ve meyve gösterenleri kullanılmıştır. Gösterilenler ise çevreyi kirleten, çevreyi temizleyen, çevre dostu, çevreden etkilenen, iş birliği/yardımlaşma/çevreye duyarlılık ve çevre bilinci olmayan konularından oluşmaktadır. Çocukların 1’i su kirliliğine yönelik çizimler yaparken; 15’i karadaki kirlilik üzerine çizimler yapmıştır. Bir çocuk ise resminde hem su hem de kara kirliliğini ele almıştır. Ayrıca, hava kirliliğine yönelik çizimlere rastlanılmamıştır. Çevre kirliliği çoğunlukla plastik, ambalaj paketleri, kâğıtlar, cam atıklar, metal atıklar, çöp kutuları, geri dönüşüm kutuları, besin maddeleri üzerinden göstermişlerdir. This poem on the pilgrimage center of Hrishikesh set in a humid subtropical niche of the scenic Uttarakhand state, aims to capture the corruption of its cultural, religious and natural landscapes. Here, modernity — with its concomitant technologism — jostles for space with Hindu leitmotifs and traditions, causing pollution, ecological damage and environmental degradation. These are outcomes not just of distorted economic policies and skewed technological and developmental paradigms, but also the residuum of religious rituals, pollutants and garbage dumped into the holy Ganges. Named after a form of the Hindu deity Vishnu, Hrishikesh, in Sanskrit, means “Lord of the Senses”. Nowadays, the town is more popularly known as Rishikesh (which means “the hair of a sage or ascetic”). This name, though etymologically erroneous, is not grammatically incorrect; it is, however, yet another pointer to the degeneration of the region’s pristinity. Here, not only is the natural environment under threat, but the rich traditions of Hinduism, too, are under assault from popular culture and mass consumerism. Such corruption is partly caused by the global yoga movement and the draw of international tourists who smoke cannabis on sacred riverbanks.

The present work concerns the development of a food waste prevention strategy in a restaurant operating within a hotel in the city of Saidia in Eastern Morocco. The food service sector was chosen for this study because it is the second highest contributing sector to food waste on the global scale. Therefore, the role it plays in environmental pollution should not be neglected. The food waste prevention strategy adopted in this work consisted in performing a food waste audit at first. Then, the purchasing, storage, and handling conditions of food were improved. Finally, waste sorting was performed. The average daily food waste generated by the case study restaurant was 320.3 kg/day. The highest amount of average daily food waste (166.7 kg/day) was generated during food preparation, while storage waste had the lowest amount (30.1 kg/day). The most wasted food commodities were vegetables (50.8 kg/day), fruits (47.1 kg/day), sauces (39.9 kg/day), and cereals (38.4 kg/day). While the least wasted food commodities were eggs (10.2 kg/day) and dairy products (11.7 kg/day). The majority of the food waste generated in this study was avoidable, and fish and seafood were the food commodities with the lowest Eco-efficiency (high cost – high waste). The food waste percentage decreased from 35% to 20% within approximately 4 months following the execution of the food waste prevention strategy.

The goal of administrative settings is to maintain the general system with all of its ancient and modern forms which is possible through the different means available such as the administrative licenses. In addition, administrative settings aim at the preservation of the aesthetic view of cities and the upkeep of citizens' health and safety, while it also functions as a protector of the environment from all types of pollution which is nowadays at an increasing level. Nonetheless, Algeria, as the many countries of the world, seeks, through its legislative system, to preserve the environment by making use of the various means available to protect it whether on the central level or the local level. This is according to the administrative and the judicial organs side. However, from the security services side, the urban and environmental protection police serves as a perfect example of protecting the environment since it is permitted by law to intervene with any act that might result in negative effects on the environment.

The Industrial bloom has tended to an increase in pollution and its harm on Man and his environment. Hence, the protection of this later and the necessity to maintain it has become an important topic of discussion throughout different media. Also, discussing the dangers resulted from pollution, is also an important part within the international conventions and local regulations. This study is intended to address the environmental conventions concluded at the international level by identifying the most important environmental problems which imposed the existence of such conventions to improve the environmental situations and respect for right of citizens to a healthy environment and the need to protect this right by the state and its institutions.

In recent decades, there has been a great interest in environmental issues and problems as affecting all human beings regardless of their place of living, standard of living and living conditions. The problem of soil contamination with heavy metals over the past three decades is growing and is relevant not only in Ukraine, Europe, but throughout the world. The content of heavy metals in the soil increases and creates a risk to the environment and human health. To eliminate this problem, various technologies of soil recovery from ecotoxicants are used. In agricultural production, one way is to grow crops that are resistant to the adverse effects of heavy metals. This article presents the study results of heavy metals translocation in corn plants during the entire growing season. It was experimentally established that the most intensive accumulation occurred in the early period of growth and development of the culture and decreased until the maturation period. It is found that the corn grain of the hybrid Zdvizh MV in all variants corresponds to the standards of feed raw materials, and can be used for technical purposes.

Résumé: Suite à l'incendie de grande ampleur qui s'est produit durant la nuit du 25 au 26 septembre 2019 sur le site de l'usine Lubrizol (Rouen, Seine-Maritime), usine classée « Seveso seuil haut » qui produit des substances chimiques industrielles pour adjonction dans des huiles diverses, un panache de fumées s'est formé localement et a poursuivi une trajectoire Nord-Est sur une grande distance. La gestion de crise mise en place très rapidement s'est organisée autour d'une « filière environnement » et d'une « filière santé » dans laquelle l'Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l'alimentation, de l'environnement et du travail (Anses) a joué un rôle majeur avec la publication de six avis d'ici fin 2019. Ces expertises collectives ont permis de montrer que les échantillons de productions agricoles et de denrées alimentaires d'origine animale prélevés ne présentaient pas de dépassement des teneurs maximales réglementaires, à l'exception du plomb dans quelques échantillons de légumes et de matières premières pour l'alimentation animale. Les valeurs se situaient dans des gammes usuellement retrouvées dans les plans de surveillance et de contrôle à l'exception d'une augmentation de la concentration en dioxines, furanes et polychlorobiphényles- dioxyn like (PCB-DL) dans les œufs, le maïs, les ensilages, herbe/foin/luzerne, et le maïs grains. Globalement, aucune corrélation entre l'intensité des dépôts de suies et des concentrations des contaminants analysés dans les divers prélèvements n'a été démontrée, exceptée une tendance pour les dioxines et furanes polychlorés (PCDD/F) et PCB-DL dans les œufs. Concernant les eaux destinées à la consommation humaine (EDCH), la grande majorité des substances recherchées n'a pas été détectée dans les premiers échantillons prélevés. Seuls des hydrocarbures aromatiques polycycliques (HAP) et certains composés perfluorés ont été quantifiés sur quelques rares zones de captages. Afin de s'assurer de l'absence de risque à long terme, une stratégie de surveillance à long terme de substances d'intérêt a été proposée pour des productions agricoles, des denrées alimentaires d'origine animale et des aliments pour le bétail. Pour les EDCH, un plan de surveillance ajusté en termes de substances à analyser, de fréquence et de durée, permettant de couvrir un cycle annuel complet de recharge des nappes a également été proposé pour une application jusqu'à septembre 2020, correspondant à la fin de l'année hydrologique. After the enormous fire that raged throughout the night of September 25-26, 2019 at the Lubrizol site (Rouen, France), a plant classified as a "high-threshold Seveso", which produces industrial chemicals as additives for a variety of oils, a plume of smoke formed in the region and moved in a northeast trajectory over a long distance. The rapidly implemented crisis management concentrated on two main elements: environment and health. Anses played a major role in the health aspect by publishing six opinions by the end of 2019. These collective studies showed that samples of agricultural produce and foodstuffs of animal origin did not exceed maximum regulatory limits, with the exception of lead in a few samples of vegetables and raw materials for animal food. Values were in ranges commonly found in monitoring and inspection plans with the exception of increased concentrations of dioxins, furans, and PCB-DL in eggs, corn, grass/hay/lucern silage, and feed corn. Overall, no correlation was found between the density of the soot deposits and concentrations of contaminants analyzed in the various samples, except for a trend of PCDD/F and PCB-DL in eggs. In water for human consumption, most of substances sought were not detected in the first samples taken. Only HAPs and certain perfluorinated compounds were quantified in a few rare catchment areas. To ensure a lack of long-term risk, a long-term strategy to monitor significant substances was proposed for farm produce, foodstuffs of animal origin, and cattle food. For water for human consumption, a monitoring plan adjusted for substances to analyze, frequency and duration of sampling and covering a full annual cycle of groundwater recharge was also proposed for application until September 2020, corresponding to the end of the hydrological year. Résumé: Dès le lendemain de l'incendie survenu sur les sites des entreprises Lubrizol et NL Logistique à Rouen, Santé publique France (SpF) a réfléchi à un dispositif d'études visant à évaluer de manière globale l'impact sanitaire de l'incendie industriel, pour la population générale ou la population des travailleurs exposés. Ce dispositif a été déployé suite à une saisine du ministère de la Santé en date du 8 octobre 2019 et permet d'appréhender les impacts sanitaires de l'accident industriel pour la population riveraine et les travailleurs exposés, en prenant en compte l'ensemble des expositions des populations exposées, la santé mentale et la qualité de vie. Plus particulièrement, il comprend une enquête transversale sur la santé perçue réalisée sur un échantillon représentatif de la population exposée et un suivi épidémiologique longitudinal de l'état de santé de la population exposée. Le dispositif inclut également une réflexion relative à la meilleure stratégie de surveillance épidémiologique possible pour les professionnels exposés. Enfin, une réflexion sur la pertinence et la faisabilité de mener une enquête de biosurveillance afin d'identifier les éventuelles surexpositions humaines aux composés émis par l'incendie a été conduite. The French public health agency developed and implemented a project to assess the overall health impact of a major industrial fire at a chemical plant. The aim was to describe all of the fire's health impacts on the general population and exposed workers, including those affecting their mental health and quality of life. The project includes a cross-sectional survey on perceived health based on a representative sample of the exposed population and a longitudinal follow-up of the exposed population's health status. It also includes an epidemiological surveillance strategy for exposed workers and a study of the relevance and feasibility of conducting a biomonitoring survey to identify possible human overexposure to the compounds emitted during the factory fire. SARGASSUM SEAWEED AS SAULTS THE FRENCH WEST INDIES. Since 2011, Martinique and the islands of Guadeloupe have been affected by repeated groundings, culminating in an exceptional wave in 2018. While the sargassum ( Sargassum natans and S. fluitans ) involved in these phenomena are neither toxic nor urticating, indirect toxicity linked to the presence of microorganisms and heavy metals (arsenic, mercury, etc.) in sargassum clusters has been described. Similarly, after a 24 to 48 hours stay on the shore, sargassum algae enter a putrefaction cycle responsible to produce hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and ammonia (NH3). The acute toxicity of these gases is well known. However, very few data are available on the clinical effects of prolonged exposure to low doses of H2S and NH3. Environmental administrative sanctions are a means of precautions aiming for the protection of the environment, reduction of environmental damages, nonrepeation of acts causing the damage of the environment. The mentioned actions of the administration shall be concluded in accordance with principles of rule of law, legality, legal certainty. It is important to a great extent to demonstrate the legality of the sanctions and measures when applied subsequently for judicial remedy, during which in the process of application of such sanctions, documentation of the contaminative activities and reveal of activities transparently with its justification had been realized. In the Environment Law numbered 2872, the procedures and principles are determined, which must be obeyed by the officer in charge assigned by the central or provincial organization of the Ministry or by the competent authority of state institutions and organizations authorized by the Ministry for the environmental supervision for detection of violations, which require the impose of administrative sanctions. It is important to consider some factors for the establishment of the process to be applied against any environmental violation by the administrative institutions that have duties and powers in the field of protection of the environment, such as the investigations to be carried out in order to clearly reveal the source of the polluting activity, the means that can be used in determining the violation, the conditions to regard real or legal persons to be responsible for polluting activity, which abolishes the hesitations relevant to the source of pollution. When the decisions of the Council of State are examined, in some of the decisions it is noteworthy that the problems related to the determination of the violation are mentioned and some of the sanctions established by the administration according to the procedure stated in the legislation are cancelled. In this study, a discussion will be made on the decisions of the Council of State and the reasons of the administration and an emphasis will be given to the problems in implementation and legislation. Recommendations will be put forward for the procedures and principles to be more specific in accordance with the principle of legality and to strengthen the lawfulness of the sanctions, which are followed in the areas where inspection may be carried out by the environmental inspection teams and where sea, land, air and other environmental damages may arise.

Starting from the critic perspective of medical anthropology with reference to the problem of the environmental contamination the author reflects on the human body as a vulnerable junction of the interchange of culture and nature, a physical place of processes of social and material embodiment, and as the fulcrum of a complex interweaving of geopolitical forces and injustices. The impact of pollutants is expressed through the dynamics of transformation of human bodies into toxic bodies, ecological alterities characterized by social vulnerabilities and inequalities, and so living texts which can tell stories of contamination, disease, and oppression. Female rebelling bodies burst onto the public scene, trying, by their knowledge and practices, to realign ecology and economy. Finally it is highlighted how the relationship between environmental contamination, protection of territories and the right to health is inscribed in conflicting fields of forces where a new biological citizenship is played and fertile spaces can be open for a political ecology to which medical anthropology can obviously offer a rich contribution.

Résumé: Ce projet avait pour objectif de préciser le risque environnemental associé à l'usage agronomique de composts de fumier de chevaux ayant reçu des traitements vétérinaires par une approche couplant l'évaluation de l'écotoxicité et la quantification des résidus médicamenteux. Le bilan détaillé des usages vétérinaires sur quatre années au sein d'une station expérimentale a permis de définir un protocole autour de deux événements entraînant un usage intensif de substances pharmaceutiques : la castration des jeunes chevaux et le traitement antiparasitaire annuel. Les résultats ont montré que sur six molécules utilisées pour ces opérations (un antiparasitaire, deux antibiotiques, un anesthésique, un anti-inflammatoire et un diurétique), quatre ont fait l'objet d'une quantification et seules l'ivermectine (antiparasitaire) et la pénicilline G (antibiotique administré après la castration) ont pu être quantifiées de manière significative au moment de la mise en compostage du fumier. Des bioessais sur deux organismes aquatiques (daphnie et microalgue verte) et quatre organismes terrestres ont été réalisés avec les molécules seules ou en mélange ainsi qu'avec les composts et leurs lixiviats. Les plus fortes concentrations auxquelles aucun effet n'a été observé (NOEC) à 72 heures ont été déterminées pour les deux organismes aquatiques. Les valeurs obtenues sont toutes supérieures à 1 μg/l et donc largement au-delà des concentrations environnementales, excepté pour l'ivermectine dont la NOEC est de 100 ng/l. La procaïne ne semble pas affecter les capacités de reproduction de la daphnie, mais une diminution de 52 % de la production de nouveau-nés est observée pour l'ivermectine à 10 ng/l. Une toxicité aquatique a cependant été observée lorsque les six molécules sont en mélange. En ce qui concerne les effets phytotoxiques, l'ivermectine, la dihydrostreptomycine et l'hydrochlorotiazide, pris séparément, engendrent une inhibition de la croissance racinaire sur les trois végétaux testés. Ces résultats peuvent expliquer la toxicité de certains échantillons de fumiers issus des boxes juste après traitement des chevaux. La convergence des essais de toxicité pour le compost préparé à partir du fumier ayant reçu l'ensemble des rejets des traitements ou à partir du fumier de référence permet de conclure à une absence d'effets significatifs sur le sol d'un amendement par du compost de chevaux ayant subi les traitements vétérinaires étudiés. This project uses a mixed approach — assessment of ecotoxicity and quantification of drug residues — to evaluate more accurately the environmental risk of soil amendment by horse manure compost including these veterinary drug residues. Use of veterinary drugs was assessed over 4 years and we defined an experimental protocol with two events involving intensive use of veterinary substances: the castration of young horses coupled with annual antiparasite treatment. The results showed that of the six substances used for these events (one antiparasite, two antibiotics, one anesthetic, one anti-inflammatory, and one diuretic), only ivermectin (a pesticide) and penicillin G (one of the two antibiotics given after castration) could be quantified before manure composting. Bioassays were carried out on two aquatic organisms (daphnia and green microalgae) and three terrestrial plants. The highest concentrations tested for which no effect on the organism was observed (NOEC) at 72 h were determined for the green microalgae and for the daphnia. Values were all above 1 μg/L and therefore well above the observed environmental concentrations, except for ivermectin with an NOEC of 100 ng/l. Procaine did not affect the reproductive capacity of daphnia but 10 ng/l of ivermectin led to a 52% decline in offspring. However, when the six molecules were used in "combination", aquatic toxicity was observed. Ivermectin, dihydrostreptomycin, and hydrochlorothiazide were all found to have phytotoxic effects, causing inhibition of root growth in all three plants. These results may explain the toxicity of some manure samples from stalls after veterinary treatment of horses. Overall, ecotoxicity tests on composts were similar for manure that received any or all of these treatments and control manure. Through model verification and algorithm correction, many factors unfavorable to environmental protection existing in the production of export products abroad are analyzed. The growth trend of export trade volume of industrial industries and regions with a high degree of openness is generally consistent with the emission trend of environmental pollutants. Environmental pollution restricts China's economic growth and brings certain negative effects on China's economic growth, The relevant data analysis suggestions for improving the impact of export product production on environmental pollution are put forward.

POLLUTION ATTRIBUTABLE MORTALITY. Pollution is estimated to be responsible for 9 million premature deaths per year in the world. For each cause of death with a risk increased by a pollutant, the number of deaths attributable to it is computed by comparison with the number of deaths expected under a reference pollution level, which is 10 μg/m3 for ambient particulate matter pollution. Only 8% of the deaths attributable to pollution occur in high income countries, because of the large effects of water and indoor air pollution (caused by traditional cooking methods) in low and middle-income countries. In France, by this method, one estimates that 13.200 deaths a year are attributable to ambient particulate matter pollution and 1.100 to ozone. Introduction: Pesticides are used worldwide, mainly in agriculture as a means of controlling pests and protecting crops. That said, the entire world population is ultimately subject to pesticide exposure (consumption of fruits and vegetables, living near treated fields…), with varying degrees of toxicity involved., State of the Art: In recent decades, epidemiological studies have contributed to the identification of chemical pesticide families with detrimental effects on human health: cognitive disorders, Parkinson's disease, prostate cancer… and impairment in respiratory functioning. There have been quickly increases in the production and consumption in the world depending industrialization and technological progress. Both producers and consumers may look out for themselves during this process, but disregard the negative externalities which they can cause. This situation may devastate the environment which is a global public good. Therefore, many countries, notably EU countries, haven taken a series of measures and especially environment tax is included in the tax legislation. This study examined the impact of environment taxes on the environmental pollution in 25 EU countries during the period 1995-2012 by using panel data analysis. We found that total environment taxes and transportation taxes did not have impact on the environmental pollution, while energy taxes had negative impact on the environmental pollution. Çalışma sonucunda toplam çevre vergileri ve ulaşım vergilerinin çevre kirliliği üzerindeki etkisinin olmadığı, enerji vergilerinin ise çevre kirliliği üzerinde negatif etkiye sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

This research was motivated by the existence of environmental pollution problems caused by manufacturing activities that use styrene plastic materials as part of the packaging for electronic products. To solve these problems, innovative uses of environmentally-friendly materials from natural resources are necessary. The substitution of natural materials for the synthetic materials used in manufacturing is vitally important in the effort to eliminate the negative effects of environmental pollution. The use of trial-and-error methods to create and test replacement materials derived from renewable natural resources will allow sustainable manufacturing development. In this study, we assessed the feasibility of replacing styrene plastic materials, which commonly are used in the packaging of manufactured goods, with waste materials from banana stems so that the packaging of manufactured goods can be an environmentally-friendly product. The resulting banana stem of new and renewable material substitution for sustainable manufacturing, namely the M4 + T + P3 + A + t6 model. Micro-biological banana stem material is broken down easily in the soil, so this material does not disturb the environment, while styrene materials do not break down in the soil. The implication of this research is the packaging of manufactured products can be sustainable.

The article investigates the resources potential of Ukraine, which is not used effectively enough for the needs of sustainable economic development of industrial regions. The article aims to identify ways to increase the eco-tax base in order to improve the budget support for sustainable development of the iron ore subsoil use and synergetic development of industrial regions of Ukraine. The normative-legal base of subsoil users' taxation is investigated. The necessity of ecological taxation is substantiated as the consequence of enterprise activity is actual environmental pollution. Applied innovations in the method of calculating the environmental tax are proposed. They consider the factor of ownership of natural resources and the discount change in their value over time, which will ultimately increase tax revenues to the budget. It is recommended to introduce the author's approach in the methods of calculating the environmental tax in the field of iron ore subsoil use, which synergistically affects the development of industrial regions of Ukraine. It is justified that the COVID - crisis is a heavy burden on local and state budgets. Therefore, it is necessary to further optimize the system of environmental taxation in order to increase environmental contributions to the budget.

WHY BAN CIGARETTE FILTERS? Tobacco consumption in the form of cigarettes is still perceived as being so ordinary that its result, the production of cigarette ends and their disposal, has long been invisible and overlooked. A cigarette end is composed of two parts: a remnant of unsmoked tobacco and a single-use plastic filter made of cellulose acetate. These two components are saturated with the many toxic products generated by cigarette combustion. The relatively recent growing awareness of the major contribution of cigarette filters to plastic pollution of soil, waterways, seas, and oceans has led to active national and international debate on the possibility and desirability of banning the use of these filters for environmental purposes. If such a ban were to be considered, it would be essential to anticipate the possible health consequences for cigarette smokers of such a measure. Santé publique France has been developing participatory approaches in the field of local environmental health investigations for around twenty years. An initial assessment of this activity was carried out in 2016. Comparing four types of participatory process implemented on different polluted sites, this work aims to reflect on the contributions and limits of such approaches. Local stakeholders’ involvement has allowed those involved to voice their health concerns and their expectations about the studies to be conducted, as well as for points of disagreement or misunderstanding, and questions about the results obtained to be expressed. In some cases, it has led to improving the quality of the scientific results produced, by integrating local knowledge and taking into account the needs expressed. It has also sometimes increased the acceptability of environmental pollution management options. The outcome of the process depends on a combination of multiple factors in which the subjectivity of those involved and the type of solicitation play a major role. The agency has since set up new modes of participation based on co-construction processes initiated ahead of investigations. Citizen workshops have been set up to design and promote, with committed and non-committed stakeholders, the health perception study that will be carried out around the Lacq industrial basin. This paper examines the impact of economic growth and foreign trade on the environmental pollution as measured by carbon dioxide emissions in Turkey. Here, we use the ARDL bounds testing approach recently developed by Pesaran et al. over the time period 1980-2010. The results suggest that there is a long-run relationship between variables with the estimated elasticities of 1.520 and 0.265, respectively. In other words, economic growth and trade openness increase environmental pollution in the long run. The main conclusion of this paper is that in order to fulfill National Climate Change Action Plan 2011-2023 to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, Turkey needs a revised environmental policy.

ENVIRONMENTAL SOUND MANAGEMENT. Pathologies due to a lack of environmental sound management are increasing. The management of environmental sounds - roads, trains, planes, industry - are a major public health challenge concerning the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Union, and public administrations. A good understanding of environmental sounds allows to engage the right prophylactic actions, reducing the production of noise, its propagation and to protect individuals and their home f rom noise. Some regulation has recently been published requiring some sound level measures in decibel even if this notion is much less common than the measure of temperature, for example. European public administration has recommended the establishment of maps of noise, measuring the exposition in one place to environmental sounds, using average level during a period. This paper establishes mixed duopoly game-theoretical models to investigate the economic impacts exerted by privatization in the presence of the environmental pollution. When the residents’ environmental preference is introduced to the public firm’s objective function, we mainly find that privatization may increase the public firm’s output, decrease the private firms’ outputs, and exert no impacts on social welfare. These findings run contrast to the common findings of the studies on privatization. Moreover, Cournot competition and Stackelberg competition are separately analyzed to show that our findings are robust and irrelevant with the firms’ moves. This paper highlights the role the environmental pollution and residents’ environmental preference play in determining the economic impacts exerted by privatization.

Merauke City is one of the cities in Papua which has 4.6 million hectares consisting of 3.1 million hectare for forest coverage and the rest is 1.5 non-forest coverage. Around 66% forest coverage consists of primary forest, high-density secondary forest, low-density secondary forest, primary swamp forest, secondary swamp forest, eucalyptus/acacia forest, primary mangrove forest, and secondary mangrove forests. Merauke City is one of the place which has a great potential to maintain and sustain ecological system with its vast territory and its evergreen forest which people keep its sustainability. However, the government and some companies expanding their business take a toll for the balance of the nature, since some of the forest areas are cut down and the industrial waste affects the ecosystem. Some territories in Merauke become heavily polluted from the wastes. One of the pollution cases is from six palm oil companies which has polluted some forests in Merauke, Papua. The companies responsible for the decreasing environmental condition are operating in Malind Bian such as PT Dongin Prabhawa ( Korindo Group), PT Bio Inti Agrindo (Korindo group), PT Central Cipta Murdaya (CCM), PT Agriprima Cipta Persada, PT Hardaya Sawit Papua and PT Berkat Cipta Abadi. The method is of this study is normative legal approach. The result of this study reveals that the government are advised to include the society and the locals to make a decision and to find a good solution for the environment which has been sustaining their life. This may resolve the problem between the palm oil company, the government, and the society to uphold a new law. The government should be strict to set rules in order to be beneficial not only for the companies, but also for the society, the government, and the environment in Merauke City. When the law has been issued, the companies indicated to be violating certain set of rules regarding environmental pollution and contamination, can be evaluated and revoked of their warrant to do business in Merauke. This will be a good solution to make sure the sustainability of the environment, forests, and the society depending on it.

Considering the environmental ethics as an emerging quality of an anthropo-ecological system, this article aims to interpret the reorganization of what the authors named as « Rhine river system » in the context of an ecological crisis. Through the meeting of two disciplines (sociology and engineering design), an interpretative framework is suggested in order to explain the organization of communication and information process between the various self-referential systems. The main purpose of this article is to focus on the action of each system in conditioning at last the dissemination and the acceptance of an unique environmental ethics, understood as the recognition of the intrinsic properties of the Rhine river ecosystem, and adapted to the referents of each system involved.
