Abstract

Cancer patients are at increased risk of developing severe and even lethal form of Sars-CoV-2 infection. In the current health crisis, rapid treatment, but adapted to the epidemiological context, must be offered to them. In Morocco and more particularly at the Regional Oncology Center of Agadir, a working group has met to put forward proposals on the management of cancer patients during this crisis. The current epidemiological situation in Morocco and precisely in the South is still under control, therefore management should not make cancer patients lose their chances of cure. We suggest that the possibilities of seeking care be safeguarded while adapting treatments to the epidemic context and government prerogatives.

Abstract

The Time Trails project is a collaboration between the Centre for Intermedia at the University of Exeter, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, 1010 Media, and Exeter City Football Club Supporters Trust (2013). It is a mobile web app to allow users to follow, annotate and create trails using text, images and videos, and to respond to them via social media. Two trails narrating the history of Exeter City Football Club and its Supporters Trust, used for mobile learning and as part of sport and cultural tourism experiences are presented. We show how Time Trails can be used as a presencing tool to establish new ways of encountering and learning on digital heritage within our daily lives.

In the collection, young people give their accounts of migration and explore how their identities are changing in their new country. The writings can be a useful resource for teachers, particularly those who want to bring a global dimension to learning. O projeto Time Trails é uma colaboração entre o Centre for Intermedia da University of Exeter, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, 1010 Media e Exeter City Football Club Supporters Trust (2013). Trata-se de um aplicativo da web para dispositivos móveis que permite aos usuários seguir, comentar e criar roteiros usando texto, imagens e vídeos, respondendo via mídias sociais. São apresentados dois roteiros narrando a história do Exeter City Football Club e de seu Supporters Trust, que são usados para aprendizagem via celular e como parte de experiências em turismo esportivo e cultural. Mostramos como o Time Trails pode ser usado como uma ferramenta de presença para estabelecer novas maneiras de encontro e aprendizagem sobre patrimônio digital em nosso dia a dia.

10. Notes to Accompany the BBC Television Series: Tele-France.

Abstract

These notes are designed to accompany a series of 10 British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) television programs intended to give persons already familiar with French, an insight into aspects of contemporary Francophone societies. The programs revolve around various themes: (1) numbers and letters; (2) words and meanings; (3) eating patterns; (4) nutrition and beauty; (5) bicycling; (6) fashion; (7) the daily routine; (8) ecology and pollution; (9) some regions of France; and (10) French outside of France. The notes provide ideas for teachers and viewers to prepare for and follow up on these programs. Each chapter contains a program summary, a key to the extracts, selected transcripts, suggestions for exploiting the programs, and an information resource list. 11. Beyond A-Level in the Teaching of French.

Abstract

The papers in this volume discuss practical approaches to some of the current problems of degree-level language teaching. Section one discusses non-literary registers in advanced language teaching including the use of texts in teaching, suggestions for a course in practical sociolinguistics, and exercises for advancing from paraphrase to an awareness of different language registers. Section two, focusing on new horizons in oral work, reviews interpreting as an oral exercise in oral fluency, group stimulation exercises in advanced language teaching, and examinations for testing French language proficiency. Section three presents course materials for degree work, reports on the revision of a course book in answer to the needs of language students, and discusses an integrated course in oral and written French. Section four reviews developments in self-instruction including using a computer to supplement classroom instruction and self-instructional materials in the language laboratory. This selection of the papers presented at a conference includes 6 introductory papers, 32 papers dealing with innovations and experiences in the authors' own countries, and reports from 6 working groups. These working groups addressed the six key topic areas of the conference: (1) relationships between new technologies and labor relations and their impact on the labor market, education, and schooling; (2) new technologies in the learning process; (3) technology's impact on relationships between general education and education for careers; (4) technological demands upon recurrent education, adult education, and non-formal education; (5) technological developments and their impact on education in the Third World; and (6) the impact of technological developments on both initial and inservice teacher education and training.
