This paper discusses the experience of Federal University of Minas Gerais – UFMG participations in the Prague Quadrennial Student Show in 2019, representing Brazil. It reports the process of conception, idealization, accomplishment and participation of the work developed by the students in the context of Scenography Discipline, at UFMG's Cross Training in Creative Processes and Cultures in Motion. From this report, we seek to understand the teaching of scenography at UFMG and its relationship with the research group Barracão, which in recent years has become a reference in the subject at this institution. Finally, we discuss the relationships and repercussions that PQ establishes in the scenography propositions regarding teaching, research and extension at UFMG. Keywords Scenography. O presente trabalho aborda a experiência de participação da UFMG na representação do Brasil na Mostra dos Estudantes na Quadrienal de Praga em 2019. Relata o processo de concepção, ideação, realização e participação do trabalho desenvolvido pelos alunos no âmbito da disciplina Cenografia, na Formação Transversal em Processos Criativos e Culturas em Movimento da UFMG. A partir desse relato, busca-se compreender o ensino da cenografia na UFMG e sua relação com o grupo de pesquisa Barracão, que se tornou referência no assunto nessa instituição. Por fim, discute-se as relações e a repercussão que a PQ estabelece nas proposições sobre a cenografia no que tange o ensino, a pesquisa e a extensão na UFMG. Palavras-chave Cenografia. A controvérsia do planejamento (1944-1945), entre Roberto Simonsen e Eugênio Gudin, é um momento privilegiado para o estudo da história das ideias econômicas. A participação de Roberto Simonsen nessa discussão pode ser revista e lida de maneira enriquecedora numa perspectiva de história das ideias. Este artigo investiga a especificidade teórica que distingue a abordagem de Simonsen em relação à de Gudin, postulando que o primeiro entra no debate pela via da história econômica. Sua abordagem está em sintonia com discussões teóricas do final da segunda guerra, levadas a cabo nas próximas décadas pela economia do desenvolvimento no Brasil. A inserção da contribuição de Simonsen no contexto histórico da controvérsia abre novas possibilidades de leitura desse debate essencial na construção de um pensamento econômico no Brasil.

The role of Islam and the participation of Muslim shaykhs, in both defining and implementing colonial policies in Eritrea, have roused less interest among scholars than Christian and missionary activities. This article sheds more light on the Islamic players and especially on the role of a holy family: the Mīrghanī. During the Colonial occupation of Eritrea this family adapted to the political and economic context imposed by the colonial rule. Our aim is to point out their activity not only as religious representatives, but also as medical mentors for local people. As a social and religious focal point, it is remarkable to see their growing interest, not only in endogenous and Islamic practices, but also in colonial medicine within the context of their charity work for the sick.

The article discusses how written materials have become an object of study in their own right, including their articulation with the sign, practices and social interactions, and temporal and geographic ramifications.

The prism of marriage can be a unique opportunity to write a social and cultural history in the modern Mediterranean and the Red Sea. The progressive dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, followed by the different settings of colonial encounters and/or the nation-building processes, led to the reform and reordering of multiple and contemporary marriages practices in a complex and dense imperial space such as the Mediterranean and the Red Sea regions. Legal regulations of marriage in the (post)Ottoman space are the results of superpositions, interactions and convergences of multiple juridical practices and norms, that included religious, customary, and civil regulations. Here, mobility played a crucial role in establishing and breaking new conjugal bonds, thus tracing the intimate entanglements between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.
