In this paper, the effects of different wind-sand attack angle, wind speed, action time, concrete strength, sand particle size, and sand content on the surface wind erosion of concrete structures are experimentally studied. Wind erosion rate and strength loss rate are defined as the indexes to measure the degree of wind erosion of concrete. According to the similarity theory, the actual situation is deduced based on the wind erosion test, and the wind erosion time corresponding to the wind speed, the action time of wind sand, and the simulation test in the case of sand content is obtained. it makes the experimental study of wind erosion on concrete buildings to have more practical significance.

Concrete structures in a sandstorm environment suffer from sandstorm erosion for a long time, which reduces the durability of concrete buildings, and then threatens the safety of buildings. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to study the aeolian sand load under the aeolian sand environment. In this paper, by numerical simulation of the sand load on the surface of bridge and simulation test of the sand load on the surface of the concrete in the sand environment, the variation law of the sand load under different sand parameters is studied. Through comparative analysis, it is concluded that the variation law of aeolian sand load in numerical simulation and test tends to be consistent with the variation of aeolian sand velocity and sand content ratio.

Purpose: This paper compares citizenship education in Singapore and Australia. While discussions have been made about education and neoliberalism, few have explored the direct connections between citizenship education and neoliberalism. Approach: Though a discussion of country contexts, citizenship education policies and curriculum, ‘Character and Citizenship Education’ in Singapore and ‘Civics and Citizenship education’ in Australia are examined to explore the meanings of ‘Character education’ and ‘Civics education’ and their connections with ‘Citizenship education’. Findings: The distinct use of terms for citizenship education suggests that the two countries hold different citizenship ideals. Set within the context of globalisation, the paper argues that some approaches towards citizenship education can inadvertently work towards supporting the goals of neoliberalism, which can be at odds with the classical tradition of democracy.

We proposed a novel method together with system to quantify the corneal biomechanics. The objectives of this study are to develop a method to measure the corneal biomechanical properties in vivo and to evaluate the performance of AIOCT system. A novel AIOCT system was established and a mathematical model was built on the basis of the current air-jet indentation method. Experiments were performed to evaluate the mechanical properties of eleven custom-made silicone corneal mimicking phantoms by the AIOCT system under different intraocular pressures (IOP). The results were then compared with those measured by the standard mechanical tensile test and indentation test. The phantom’s moduli were ranged from 0.08 to 1.03 MPa according to the tensile and indentation test. The elastic moduli of corneal silicone phantoms (Eairjet) were measured using the AIOCT system with the proposed mathematical model at four IOPs (0.6, 15.3, 29.8, and 44.7 mmHg). The Eairjet were agreed well with the corresponding moduli (Etensile) measured by the tensile test (Eairjet = 1.188 Etensile, R2 = 0.925). The preliminary results showed that this technique was capable of measuring corneal biomechanical properties in vivo and it may provide a clinical potential non-invasive and non-contact means to the diagnosis of keratoconus suspects in the future.

The aim of this study was to investigate the antidepressant-like effect of red wine phenolic extracts in mouse model exposed to exogenous corticosterone. The results showed that 3-week corticosterone injections caused depression-like behavior in mice, as indicated by the significant decrease in sucrose consumption and increase immobility time in the forced swim test. Red wine phenolic extracts treatment significantly reduced serum corticosterone levels. Moreover, it was found that red wine phenolic extract increased the brain-derived neurotrophic factor protein (BNDF) and Tropomyosin-related kinase B (TrkB) phosphorylation and cAMP-responsive element binding protein (CREB) phosphorylation levels in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. However, K252a, an inhibitor of TrkB, completely abolished those antidepressant-like effects. These results suggested that the red wine phenolic extracts produce an antidepressant-like effect in corticosterone-treated mice, at least in part, which is possibly mediated by modulating hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, BDNF, TrkB and CREB phosphorylation levels in the brain region of mice.

The operating condition of transmission lines directly determines the efficiency of the power system. Therefore, faced with a complex operating environment, it is extremely important to protect transmission line video monitoring. At present, the technology widely used in the power distribution and network communication in domestic power industry is EPON technology. This technology has a broad application prospect on the transmission of electrical circuit video monitoring information. On this basis, this paper carries out a further research on the application of EPON technology in transmission line video monitoring. This paper firstly proposes the design principle of transmission line video monitoring, and on this basis, it carries out a comparative analysis of merits and demerits of different types of EPON networking schemes. In addition, quantification is given for the EPON networking power consumption, so as to obtain a complete EPON combining scheme which is combined with specific examples to validate, and finally realize that the EPON technology has a certain application value because it is in line with various indicators after application in transmission line video monitoring.
