The work covers air quality monitoring tools in Bucharest, major industrial facilities impacting pollution and the city's eight air quality monitoring stations. Data on pollutant emissions from Bucharest's thermal power plants (SO2, NOx and dust) are presented. Finally, the paper graphically presents the annual average concentrations of NO2, SO2, PM10 and O3 at the monitoring stations and examines pollution peaks and daily limit exceedances from 2017 to 2022.

Students are perceived as a group that manifests certain specific cultural particularities, among which there are the values, beliefs and principles of conduct. Since the instructional-educational activities carried out with them must take into account those aspects that they value and which represent benchmarks in the cognitive, affective and behavioral spheres, we decided to find out which axiological benchmarks the students we work with refer to. They assimilate the cultural values promoted by the university and, at the same time, they are active participants in the act of creating new values. We were interested in identifying the most common values among master's students who are enrolled in the courses of the psychopedagogical module and also to what extent these are found in their attitudes and opinions in specific training situations. In order to achieve the proposed goal, we started from the hypothesis that students refer to both classical and recent values. In order to test the research hypothesis, we used qualitative research methods, which allowed us to inventory the dominant values of the students' axiological register, but also to find out some reasons and arguments they base their opinions on.

Our paper presents analyses on the ways of critical and creative learning for students, starting from the premise that, in the learning achieved at this level, there are major changes, determined by the more diverse and demanding social contexts, which requires selection and personalized decision-making skills. Besides the actual learning modalities, there are presented interferences with other demarches specific for academic activities, the risks of criticism, as well as the possible difficulties. Therefore, the value of the study and, at the same time, the hypothesis aimed is to reveal certain concrete aspects of how much and how, some of our students use such paths, based on their usefulness.

Our article focuses on the complex issue of creating the emotional well-being needed by the students in academic learning. Especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, this challenge has become an aspect that is better acknowledged by both the trainers and the learners, and, following the applied empirical research, we managed to find out to what extent the well-being of our students conditions the activity of teaching-learning-assessment and, above all, how we can contribute to its establishment. Social connection is a central factor, which has an impact on well-being, and the pandemic situation, evaluated through the eyes of the students included in the research sample, some time after it ended, confirmed that the most important factor for their well-being was the relationship with those close to them, with their colleagues and with the teachers they felt connected to. An essential role in this situation is attributed to affective regulation, possible to achieve through external facilitation, but, above all, through self-determination. However, whether they have a positive hedonic tone or are negatively felt, emotions, as reactions to change, have an adaptive role and are absolutely necessary for everyone.

This research analyzes the students' perception of teachers' competencies and their roles in the educational activity. The study examines the issue starting from the theoretical and practical aspects offered by the specialized literature on this subject, based on the answers given by future teachers in the final year of their bachelor's degree about the characteristics of the 21st century teacher. The purpose of the research was to identify the main qualities of teachers (perceived by students), objectified in categories of professional competencies and roles. For this, we resorted to the content analysis (of some essays the students developed at the end of their first level of psychopedagogical training). The collection of the quantitative and qualitative results indicated a higher frequency of emotional and social competencies as well as that of the manager and counselor roles. The results showed that while some participants emphasized the educational support and others the role of socialization, most of them considered the emotional development to be first. Also, from the responses of the research participants, the critical areas that need to be developed in their professional training also emerge.

Success in academic learning depends not only on the level of cognitive development, but also on the level of development of emotional intelligence, on the extent to which the student manages to be flexible in thoughts and emotions, in order to optimally adapt to situations. No matter how creative or intelligent we are, regardless of our personality type, emotional agility, that is, how we manage our inner world - thoughts, feelings, self-image, is what ultimately determines how successful we will be. The study aims to emphasize the importance of the intrapersonal dimension in the learning process. Starting from the premise that emotions are the binder between thought and action, the proposed experimental program aimed at carrying out personal development activities that would determine the awareness of limitative thoughts and beliefs, of the importance of changing the way of perceiving a situation an event (positive interpretation of situations). The data of the research have shown that although negative thoughts and emotions appear, they can be shaped, restructured, so as to allow an optimal and balanced adaptation to various situations.

The study focuses on the role of e-learning in the training process against the background of the digitalization of education. We aim to analyze the impact of elearning on the school performance of the students. Starting from a comparative analysis between traditional learning and e-learning, we focus on the training strategies that capitalize on the new information and communication technologies. In the experimental part of the research, we will start from the suggestions offered by the students of the Faculty of Sciences, the University of Craiova (undergraduate cycle, year II) with the purpose to improve online instruction. In this regard, we will use a questionnaire. The designed training model, based on the proposals of the students, will include current training methods, modern instruments, leading to better results in the final evaluation. This aspect will be verified in the final part of the pedagogical experiment, in which we will follow the results of the exam and we will analyze the feedback provided by the students concerning the implementation of their proposals.

The portfolio represents a complex assessment tool that includes the relevant outcomes of the students during a learning program. Starting from its role in the academic activity of the students, we aimed in this study to identify the specific aspects of this longitudinal method of assessment and to record, in a constatative research, the way the students relate to the elaboration of the portfolio for the graduation of the psycho-pedagogical module specific to level I, License. The interpretation of their answers to the items of the questionnaire about the relevance and importance of the graduation portfolio is, in our opinion, a starting point in improving the subsequent instructive-educational approaches.

One of the most significant groups of thermal energy handling equipment utilized in industries is heat exchangers. Their particular uses include chemical processing, waste heat recovery, space heating and air conditioning, and power generation. Most people consider heat exchangers to be complicated machines. Double-pipe heat exchangers are easy to build and analyze. However, given their extensive usage in industries, their significance is unquestionable. They have undergone several improvements to impact energy, reduce material costs, and thereby mitigate environmental deterioration. In industry, heat exchangers are commonly utilized for both heating and cooling purposes. Heat passes via the dividing walls of a recuperator, a form of heat exchanger that has distinct flow routes for each fluid along its tubes. Typically, the base fluid is water, ethylene glycol or oil, and the nano-particles are composed of metals, oxides or carbides. Nanofluid's ability to increase the rate of exchanging the heat in a variety of heat devices is experimentally assessed since adding nanoparticles to the base fluid improves its thermophysical characteristics. The use of inserts and nanofluids together significantly improves heat transmission.

The present study focuses on the analysis of prosocial behavior. The forms or subspecies of prosocial behavior, the compositional variables constituted in determining factors and its explanatory models are highlighted. The research part presents the answers of the students to the questions of a test regarding the acceptance of others, understood as a necessary condition in the development of prosocial behavior. The theoretical basis is a starting point in our constative research and it includes the results of certain investigations that are considered benchmarks in the study of this topic.

In our century we face emerging challenges of uncertainty and because of that our resilience skills, which are beginning to be more and more present in the academic discourses, occupy an important place in everyday life. The strategies of increasing resilience prove to be useful in difficult times. The understanding of our own experiences or those of other people and groups can help us better manage the impact of COVID-19 in a constructive and collaborative way. The positive approach to mental health and the development of resilience are linked to the global perspective of individual and collective health. Resilient people have good/ positive mental health. In this regard, with this study we aimed to specify the main ways of increasing resilience in students, ways that contribute to the positive adjustment in conditions of adversity. The research took place during the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021 and gave us clues about the impact that the pandemic had on students. In relation to their answers, we rethought the approach of the curricular contents so as to offer understanding and support in order to increase the resilience of the students.

This paper presents the data of a synchronous action-research, focused on empirical methodology, resulted from the analysis of the concrete situation of the use of the Google classroom platform by students, who prepare to be teachers, as full-time education students. In the context of the transition to the online education, in the second part of the 2019 academic year, the platform was evaluated by students for the components: announcements, adequacy to the course, seminar, to the assessment, according to various criteria. Thus, the value of the approach undertaken by us consists in raising awareness and following some indicators, their impact in the field of communication and feedback in training. Students positively appreciate the characteristics of new environments and forms of instruction. The focus on the forms of communication and feedback indicated that the nonverbal and para-verbal modalities remain underutilized. We can talk about a superficial level of communication and an intensification of feedback or a change in their level. As a result, we must not neglect the deficient aspects reported by students, observed by us, which requires a justified choice or the combination of the online education with the face-to-face education, in its modernized version, focused on the student. The response that students to full-time education were willing to offer and the central trend of their appreciations, after experiencing the use of the online platform, indicated that, although they have adapted to the requirement to use the training platform, they encounter difficulties that must be taken into account.

To effectively promote the development of the knowledge-based economy, it must be understood that information is a factor of production (as well as labor, land and capital). A solid propellant is simple and reliable rocket fuel. Once ignited, the propellant cannot be stopped since they burn until they run out. Solid fuel rockets are widely used in military applications such as missiles, model rockets, boosters for satellite launchers and so on because they can be stored for long periods of time without degrading the propellant. The primary objective of this research is to study the burnout mass of solid propellants using various propellants and catalysts. Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) was chosen as an oxidant in the experiment because of its compatibility with other ingredients and low-cost affordability. KNO3 was used as an oxidizer in a 65% ratio with 34% of the fuel and 1% of the catalyst. KNO3, fuel ingredients like Fructose, Glucose and Lactose with catalysts Copper and Aluminum were taken in powdered form. Cylindrical stainless steel with one closed end was taken to fill the cavity, and a concentric hole was made for constant burning. This propellant-filled chamber is fixed strongly in a position so that it does not propel during fuel combustion when thrust is formed. The obtained result shows that the longest burnout mass was secured by burning Glucose with Copper powder and KNO3 for 136 s when compared to the shortest burnout mass was secured by burning Lactose with Aluminum powder and KNO3 mixture to 57 s. The highest temperature of the mixture was Lactose with Copper powder and KNO3 resulted in 518 °C when compared to the lowest temperature of the mixture was Glucose with Copper powder and KNO3 was 211.75 °C.

Electrical vehicles (EVs) are becoming more popular every day. Lithium ion (Li-ion) batteries in the cylindrical form are utilized as the power source of both electrical vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles due to their small size and high-power density. There is typically very little space between the batteries. Heat dissipation must be properly evaluated to ensure that the battery operates as intended. The study goal is examine how well a battery pack performs overall while using alternating cooling strategies. Three models were created in solidworks 2016 for the purpose of determine the best cooling approach. Three battery thermal management (BTMs) options were also chosen, analyzed, and simulated in Ansys Fluent 19.2 to ensure accurate and thermal modelling. According to the findings, geometry 2 ethynyl glycol exhibits a more efficient temperature distribution and maximum temperature than the other cooling methods. Furthermore, channel cooling based on BTMs, the consistent temperature distribution is carried out, and the maximum temperature is regulated to 306.66 K, with a minimum temperature of 293. 20 K being attained.

Fusariotoxins (deoxynivalenol, nivalenol, T-2 toxin, diacetoxyscirpenol, zearalenone, moniliformin, fumonisins) are secondary metabolites of Fusarium species of fungi that parasitize various plants or are present on them as facultative pathogens. The aim of this work was to evaluate the ability of bacteria that have antimicrobial activity against toxin-producing Fusarium species to detoxify toxic fungal metabolites in order to create additives that improve the quality and safety of feed and other agricultural products. A total of 207 bacterial isolates belonging to various genera and species have been studied. The isolate, designated as RF-45, was characterized by a broad spectrum and a high level of antagonistic activity against most species of Fusarium fungi. Based on morphological-physiological and biochemical studies, analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence, the RF-45 isolate was identified as Bacillus subtilis. The bacillary isolate was distinguished by its ability to produce various hydrolytic enzymes (CMCase, avicelasa, β-glucosidase, FPase and xylanase) and antimicrobial metabolites (siderophores, bacteriocins and exopolysaccharides), as well as to detoxify toxic fungal metabolites. It was concluded that B. subtilis RF-45 can be used as an object for creating additives capable of decontaminating feed and other agricultural products.

Later the same PV is modeled in Ansys and analyzed with various fiber angles to determine the failure by considering their deformation, stress and strain of the PV using GFRP, CFRP and hybrid composites. At last the results obtained are validated.

Parainfluenza virus-3 is the most common etiological agent in mixed respiratory diseases of calves with high concentrations of animals. The more severe course of the disease is observed with complications from bacterial or other viral infections. This article presents the results of clinical and epizootic, serological, virological and molecular genetic studies. A cytopathogenic agent was isolated from a pathological material taken from patients with respiratory diseases of calves in a BEK cell culture. Based on the results of serological and molecular biological studies, this isolate (“LD-9”) was identified as the parainfluenza-3 virus in cattle.

Modern Flettner rotors, are energy power generators. They are one of the various equipment used to capture and harness wind energy. By reading the article, the reader can discover what are the forces which influence the modern Flettner rotors and how they influence the ship stability.This article major points are: calculation the influence of the modern Flettner rotors on the ship transverse and longitudinal stability, calculation of the ship new displacement, new draft, new metacentric height and period of rolling.

The supply of own services of direct current is made from at least two sources of DC power, the independent and capable sources of ensuring, each of them, the entire consumption. As a normal power source, are used AC/DC rectifiers and DC/DC converters, as the case. The provision of safety power supplies its able to take over, for a limited time, normalized, the whole consumption in the DC of this objective, is mandatory for all objectives. As a safe power supply are used battery packs. Each battery pack supplies a single network; it is not supplied from the same battery, two or more distribution networks, with different nominal voltages through intermediate sockets. For voltage supply, in case of dismissal of the basic source, they can be used as local sources, which provide electricity directly, the battery, built to ensure the required voltage and capacity in battery packs. The ships present the damaged installation which can operate supplied by battery packs. Electrical control circuits, signalization circuits, protection circuits and automation circuits are supplied with DC voltage. In this article we will calculate the battery capacity of a ship.

The cutting-edge technology Machine Learning (ML) is successfully applied for Business Intelligence. Among the various pre-processing steps of ML, Automatic Image Annotation (also known as automatic image tagging or linguistic indexing) is the process in which a computer system automatically assigns metadata in the form of captioning or keywords to a digital image. Automatic Image Annotation (AIA) methods (which have appeared during the last several years) make a large use of many ML approaches. Clustering and classification methods are most frequently applied to annotate images. In addition, these proposed solutions require a high computational infrastructure. However, certain real-time applications (small and ad-hoc intelligent applications) for example, autonomous small robots, gadgets, drone etc. have limited computational processing capacity. These small and ad-hoc applications demand a more dynamic and portable way to automatically annotate data and then perform ML tasks (Classification, clustering etc.) in real time using limited computational power and hardware resources. Through a comprehensive literature study we found that most image pre-processing algorithms and ML tasks are computationally intensive, and it can be challenging to run them on an embedded platform with acceptable frame rates. However, Raspberry Pi is sufficient for AIA and ML tasks that are relevant to small and ad-hoc intelligent applications. In addition, few critical intelligent applications (which require high computational resources, for example, Deep Learning using huge dataset) are only feasible to run on more powerful hardware resources. In this study, we present the framework of “Automatic Image Annotation for Small and Ad-hoc Intelligent Application using Raspberry Pi” and propose the low-cost infrastructures (single node and multi node using Raspberry Pi) and software module (for Raspberry Pi) to perform AIA and ML tasks in real time for small and ad-hoc intelligent applications. The integration of both AIA and ML tasks in a single software module (with in Raspberry Pi) is challenging. This study will helpful towards the improvement in various practical applications areas relevant to small intelligent autonomous systems.

The principal objective of the present study is to compute the thermodynamic performance of window air conditioner based on standard vapour compression refrigeration cycle using R22, R407C and nineteen refrigerant mixtures. In this work nineteen R290/R1270 blends at different compositions are developed. A MATLAB code is developed to compute the thermodynamic performance parameters of all the studied refrigerants at condensing and evaporating temperatures of 54.4°C and 7.2°C respectively. The performance parameters are cooling effect, compressor work, COP, compressor discharge temperature, power per ton of refrigeration and volumetric cooling capacity respectively. Analytical results revealed that COP of new binary mixture R290/R1270 (90/10 by mass %) is 2.82% higher among R22, R407C and nineteen studied refrigerants. Energy required by the compressor per ton of refrigeration for R290/R1270 (90/10 by mass %) is 2.73% lower among R22, R407C and nineteen studied fluids. The discharge temperature of the compressor for all the nineteen investigated blends are reduced by 6.0-8.9oC compared to R22. Overall thermodynamic performance of window air conditioner with R290/R1270 (90/10 by mass %) is better than R22 with significant savings in energy consumption and hence it is an energy efficient ecofriendly refrigerant mixture as a drop in substitute to R22.

The present work focuses on analytical computation of thermodynamic performance of actual vapour compression refrigeration system by using six pure refrigerants. The refrigerants are namely R22, R32, R134a, R152a, R290 and R1270 respectively. A MATLAB code is developed to compute the thermodynamic performance parameters of actual vapour compression system such as refrigeration effect, compressor work, COP, power per ton of refrigeration, compressor discharge temperature and volumetric refrigeration capacity at condensing and evaporating temperatures of 54.4oC and 7.2oC respectively. Analytical results exhibited that COP of both R32 and R134a are 15.95% and 11.71% higher among the six investigated refrigerants. However R32 and R134a cannot be replaced directly into R22 system. This is due to their higher compressor discharge temperature and poor volumetric capacity respectively. The discharge temperature of both R1270 and R290 are lower than R22 by 20-26oC. Volumetric refrigeration capacity of R1270 (3197 kJ/m3) is very close to that of volumetric capacity of R22 (3251 kJ/m3). Both R1270 and R290 shows good miscibility with R22 mineral oil. Overall R1270 would be a suitable ecofriendly refrigerant to replace R22 from the stand point of ODP, GWP, volumetric capacity, discharge temperature and miscibility with mineral oil although its COP is lower.

The purpose of this study was to understand the experience of students as they progressed through three specific online graduate courses in health promotion studies delivered primarily by asynchronous computer conferencing. Focused teleconference discussions were conducted with approximately 45 students from the different courses and the transcripts subjected to qualitative analysis. Themes that emerged included what new students appreciated most when adapting to learning online, factors that contributed to learner satisfaction, and the difficulties encountered by students taking a course when the content was not as well suited to the instructional method. The findings are discussed in relation to the three components of Garrison, Anderson and Archer’s (2000) Community of Inquiry model of learning: cognitive, social and teacher presence. Implications are presented for assisting students with the process of adapting to online learning and enhancing the ‘fit’ between course content and online instructional methods.
