Abstract
The article presents a reflection on the relations between the city of Boston, Massachusetts, and France from the 1770s. According to the article, France was perceived before that as an enemy because Boston was mostly Protestant, but at this period, many Bostonian people converted to Catholicism and embraced the French culture. The religious conversion of a few young Bostonian people are examined, as well as the efforts of an important trading family from Boston in the taking advantage of Revolutionary events in France and in Haiti.
