- Abstract
This paper aims to contribute to the study of the figure of the artist through thematic analysis of several recent texts published in French. The author examines the main themes linked to the artist-protagonist, classifies them in hypernymic categories and shows that in the works of some contemporary French authors (Houellebecq, Grainville, Gailly, Le Guillou) the figure of the artist loses its romantic features, inherited from the artist novel of the nineteenth century and increasingly takes on anthropological dimensions to convey the values of the human quest. According to the author, hermeneutic interest in these works should consist in deciphering their full potential in terms of meaning beyond the surface of the artist novels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Food and nutrition are topics constantly covered, in various forms, in the media, both in fiction and non-fiction areas. New approaches and associations have recently emerged in the media coverage of this broad issue, with topics such as healthy eating, sustainable nutrition, various dietary trends, risks associated with nutrition or, general speaking, lifestyles, treatment and attitudes towards animals intended for consumption, environmental damage, etc. currently representing themes addressed in the media as frequently as recipes, dietary recommendations, plant cultivation and animal husbandry, as well as traditional dishes and culinary habits. This paper presents the results of a comparative study on the media coverage of nutrition in Romania and Germany. The research, based on a content analysis of online thematic press articles from the two countries, covers a period of three years (2014--2016). The main research objectives pursued in the study are identifying the most relevant aspects regarding both the content and the form of media coverage of the topic of nutrition, and making comparisons in these respects. The paper particularly discusses the similarities and differences between the two countries as regards the media construction of the issue of food as a general concern. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper describes a case of the practical application of thematic analysis to organise and interpret qualitative data on the presence of technological contents in the field of translator training in Spain. Thematic analysis allowed us to identify and interpret key ideas (themes) within the data sample obtained from a corpus of module syllabi from undergraduate degrees in Translation and Interpreting (T&I) in 2019-2020. This paper presents the study from a purely methodological perspective. It explains in detail the different phases of thematic analysis according to the model proposed by Braun and Clarke (2006), together with the decisions taken in each phase. This is part of a broader research project that aims to map the current situation of technologies in the academic field (undergraduate degrees in T&I) and in the professional market of translation in Spain, when digitisation is directly impacting the demands of the translation industry.

There is a growing literature on meat consumption and reduced meat diets, given the negative impacts of meat on the environment. However, much of the literature has focussed on global North countries, limiting cross-cultural generalisability and overlooking the role of cultural differences in motivating food choices. The present paper provides a cross-cultural comparison of the motivations for meat consumption and vegetarianism in Brazil and the United Kingdom. This was done by conducting a total of 63 semi-structured interviews with meat-eaters, vegetarians, and vegans in Brazil (n = 41) and the UK (n = 22). The data was analysed thematically and the findings were compared across the participant samples. The findings showed that meat consumption was similarly motivated and justified in each country through the 4 N’s of justification for meat consumption. However, participants’ experiences of reducing meat consumption varied between the two countries, influenced by distinct motivations, aversions, and constraints. In the UK, price served as a motivation for choosing meatless meals, whereas in Brazil it acted as a constraint to reducing meat consumption. Additionally, in the UK, disgust was identified as a significant aversion particularly towards eating parts of meat that visibly resembled the animal of origin — a sentiment not observed in the Brazilian sample. Lastly, while environmental concerns were not a primary reason for adopting a plant-based diet in either country, they often became a significant motivator for maintaining it after dietary change.

DECONSTRUCTIVISM (Architecture) ,HERMENEUTICS ,REPETITION (Philosophy) ,THEMATIC analysis ,LINGUISTICS - Abstract
This paper is concerned with the problem of giving meaning, from the standpoint of the deconstructivist critique that Jacques Derrida conducts regarding hermeneutics: if hermeneutics puts forth a reign of meaning, deconstruction essays to reveal that a certain irreducible outside-the-meaning deferral always escapes the theoretic hermeneutical meaning. Based on Derrida's questioning of how a repetitive universal meaning is given for an absolutely unique event, our paper explores how we may understand meaning within the duplicitous threshold between the two slopes of singularity and universality and in the same time remain true both to the gift of the universal meaning in thematic, theoretical, linguistic and conceptual experiences, as well as to the leak implied by the inaccessible deferral pertaining to the secret of singularity. What is the role and importance of philosophical education in other academic programs? There is surprisingly little relevant empirical research on this issue – the issue that has gained importance with the latest trend of reducing the representation of philosophy teaching in the education system of the Republic of Serbia. This is exactly what we deal with in this paper: we investigate the importance, value, and preferred conception of philosophical education in other, non-core academic studies, from the perspective of students, the main participants in the educational process. Our sample includes 151 participants, male and female students of the University of Niš, who answered open-ended questions using an online questionnaire about the contribution that philosophy courses had in their education and the possibility of giving more momentum to that contribution. We analyzed the obtained data qualitatively, using the method of thematic analysis. The results of our research show that students highly value the impact of philosophy courses, they believe that they contribute to the improvement of critical thinking and effective communication skills, a better understanding of problems, learning how to learn, building a worldview, and even – contrary to the usual conception of philosophy as a general education subject – to the better understanding of one’s own profession. With certain limitations that must be taken into account, this research speaks in favor of the fact that philosophy education makes a significant contribution to the education of students of various vocations, and that there are strong reasons to oppose the trend of marginalization of philosophy in other academic courses. Also, the results suggest that in the light of the new changes, it is necessary to rethink the question of how to design philosophy courses in other academic curricula.

Faced with an increasingly challenging environment, journalists and news organizations are looking to investigative journalism as a symbolic resource to assert their professionalism. However, while the literature recognizes a strong link between authority and professionalism on the one hand, and investigative journalism and professionalism on the other, it has overlooked how investigative journalism itself can be used to establish authority. This paper aims to fill this gap by exploring how investigative pieces contribute to the legitimization of journalists in French-speaking Switzerland. To answer this question, we conducted a thematic and discursive qualitative analysis of 186 investigative pieces to examine identity markers that present journalists as particularly legitimate knowledge producers. Our findings show how print journalists perform an investigative identity throughout their texts. This includes playing a watchdog role, demonstrating an “investigative mindset,” claiming specialized skills, and / or highlighting their thorough verification procedure. By employing these strategies, investigative journalists seek recognition based on their social role, their individual traits, their specialized skills, and / or their incontrovertible knowledge claims. We analyze these four identity markers as strategic devices for claiming special authority within the journalistic profession.

This paper consists of a first exploration of eighteen paratexts that precede American missionary doctrinal works published between the mid-sixteenth century and the mid-eighteenth century. Starting from the detailed analysis of the prologue that Juan de la Anunciación included in his Doctrina christiana muy cumplida(1575) we discover several issues such as the role of religious writings for the learning of indigenous languages, food as a metaphor, linguistic relativity, the strategy of translation, the question of style, the «topos» of humility and the competence of the translator, topics which, in a second movement, recur in other prologues and paratexts of the corpus. This first panorama offers us clues about how the authors/translators considered and expressed their responsibility to their recipients that deserve to be explored in future research.

This paper focuses on the issue of automatic thematic analysis at the discourse level. We propose a representational model of textual topics based on the notion of "discourse universe", applied to various discursive patterns through several examples. We illustrate the fact that domain-specific knowledge can play a significant role in the structure of the related discourse. We finally introduce an automatic analysis method founded on this model and applicable to information retrieval tasks.

The use of force in international law has greatly evolved since World War II. The use of force is now an exception, reduced within the strict framework established by the United Nations, and specifically under the control of the Security Council. And yet, the latest decades have witnessed old concepts coming back to life. Such as the « just war » and the « humanitarian intervention ». War no longer beeing acceptable means it has to be justified. The quore of those justifications are of humanitarian basis. It is in this context that the rethoric of the use of force to save women has developped. The Council’s «Women, Peace and Security » resolutions are found to be an interesting intersection for this subject. After presenting its historical context, the present regime on the use of force and its recent tensions will be highlighted. Concepts from different feminist school of thoughts will then be presented to provide a theorical framework for the analysis of the resolutions that will close this paper.

Des enseignements ont été tirés autour des interactions entre les différents facteurs., The concept of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) appears in the literature as a rigorous and solid scientific construct from which a cumulative and stable body of knowledge can be developed (Rauch, Wiklund, Lumpkin et Frese, 2009). Since the beginning of the 21st century, we have witnessed an exponential development of publications on the theme of OE. A wide range of research published in academic and professional journals has emerged in various contexts to support this growing interest for this subject. It is therefore necessary to understand and structure the OE literature in order to learn the main lessons. That’s why we conduct this bibliometric study which reviews and structures published research on the OE between 2001 and 2016. It aims at identifying the major new research avenues on the subject. This paper focuses on the factors that may favor or inhibit the EO and its main outputs. It answers the following question : what are the interactions/links between the determinants and the consequences of the EO, which are still unexplored in the literature ? To do this, 492 published academic articles are examined using two different methodologies. The first, quantitative based on univariate indicators, draws the landscape on the subject (reviews, methodologies, countries). The second, qualitative based on a thematic analysis (Freeplane software), allows to identify all the determinants and the consequences of the EO, studied in the conceptual, qualitative and quantitative works.
