Abstract
The article presents a paper that discusses the generational difference in terms of scholars' relationship towards folklore studies. Various activities on folklore were traced from late nineteenth century to Second World War in Burgundy, France. It cites that Dijon Academy has little participation in folklore activities while Mâcon Academy has developed folklore specialists. It also notes that it was in the late 1930s that new generation of social sciences scholars have studied folklore.
