Abstract
The article presents a subjective perspective on the industrial history of the coastal region of the Manche in France. The author discusses the Mediterranean model and the British industrial revolution model. Topics include commercial exchanges and cotton trade at the port in Rouen, France, textile, paper, and leather industries in Brittany, France, and the gap between small and medium-size companies.
