This paper aims to report the investigation of the effect of online news items on students’ writing outcome of English as foreign language context. This research used quantitative methods with quasiexperimental research designs with non-equivalent groups’ pretest-posttest design. Two groups which 46 students were the experimental and control groups and both groups were given with some different treatments. Those treatments were given in a balanced and intensive manner without intervention from factors beyond the researcher’s control. The tests were then employed as the instrument to gain data with ANCOVA as design of analysis technique and SPSS as media to compute. The findings showed that online news items have strengthened students’ writing abilities and motivated students to write related problems. The results obtained from this study proven that the P-value (0.016)

At present, there is not any MTI graduation test system in China, although the enrollment of MTI students witnesses an increase. This paper presents MTI graduation written test construct and design of syllabus. It then elaborates on the test construct, modules, which is intended to clarify the purpose, significance and contents of MTI graduation test and shed new light on future large-scale test development and improvement of cultivation quality of MTI graduates.

Cross-cultural differences in academic discourse as a field of applied linguistic research became mainstream at the end of the 20th century. Two fundamental concepts emerged at that period: one highlighted universal features of academic discourse, the other focused on ethnocultural peculiarities of cognitive and textual structures. Research in the field of academic discourse becomes particularly significant when applied to training and education of academic staff. Accepting the idea of universal features of academic discourse, we, however, tend to support the concept claiming that academic writing style may contain markers of ethnocultural identity of their authors. So, the aim of our research was to identify markers of ethnocultural identity in medical research texts. The study included comparative discourse analysis of research focused medical texts created by English-speaking (ES) and Russian-speaking (RS) authors. The results obtained have drawn us to the conclusion that despite universal features that scientific medical texts of the same genres share, they nevertheless manifest specific properties depending on the linguistic and cultural affiliation of their authors, i.e. markers of ethnocultural identity. This knowledge can contribute to international academic communication.

This paper is a conceptual study that introduces the role of collaborative regulation into the supply chain resilience debate. The manufacturing supply chain of halal pharmaceuticals in Malaysia forms the context of the paper. In this paper, a critical review of previous studies on supply chain resilience, joint working relationships between supply chain actors, and collaborative involvement of regulatory authorities in supply chain relationships was carried out. Collaborative regulation for improved supply chain resilience is the coordinated, consistent, and strategic activities that includes: effective, as well as regular coordination and interactions; knowledge and information sharing, verification, and periodical monitoring, as well as enforcement of collaborative approaches to policy and regulatory control mechanisms via coercive force of isomorphism. The arguments put forward, contribute to improving knowledge, by specifying the conditions in which supply chain resilience is stronger in highly regulated contexts. This is an aspect that is ill reflected in the supply chain management literature.

Turnover intentions in academic institutions has become one of the main concern of the management as surviving and achieving excellence is very much about having the knowledgeable and committed employee. Therefore, it is one of the main and foremost issue for a management of higher education institution to give important. There are many factors that influence an academician to have turnover intentions. Hence, this study’s focus was to investigate the relationship between role ambiguity, work-overload, work family conflict, co-workers warmth, co-workers competence and turnover intentions. The variables studied in this paper were analyse from a research framework. The finding of this study has been discussed on role ambiguity, work-overload, work family conflict, co-workers warmth, co-workers competence and turnover intentions. Conclusion has been drawn from the support of literature that states that the variables influences on turnover intentions. This paper’s finding provides valuable guidance for researcher and practitioners to overcome and improve the current mechanism to reduce turnover intentions. The research has also found few new paths for thinking on how to manage employees that having turnover intentions in any organizations.

In recent years, there has great deal of attention towards customer value since the concept of value creation prompted in the Service-Dominant (S-D) Logic in marketing theory (Vargo & Lusch, 2004). With that, one of the aspects that is crucial is building and maintaining relationships that prepares customers for future co-creations. In context of higher education institutions (HEIs), students move from one life cycle stage to another, thereby needs and expectations also evolve, and when they graduate, it may dissolve. With service innovations, a smart active relationship between students and HEIs should be part of any institutions internal branding efforts. As institutions delve into relationship with students, their focus on co-creation with an aim to translate students to advocates, someone who will spread the positive word-of-mouth, defend the brand, and most importantly to feel a sense of responsibility to represent the brand, when need arises. This calls for HEIs to not only manage exchange processes in their internal branding efforts, but also focus on students’ perceived value-in-use (ViU). The purpose of this paper is to explore perceived ViU of students at private HEIs, from the effects of extra-role behavior, trust, self-brand connection and brand prominence towards influencing students to engage in advocacy behavior.

Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are formed by mutual members in conducting activities to enhance social welfare of its members and public. The issue of governance of NGO arises when such social welfare fail to be achieved. Principal-agent theory explains that agent (elected CEO or key committees) is responsible to carry out NGO activities aligned with principals interest (which described in NGO missions and goals). If CEO or key committees are being paid to govern NGO, emolument is primarily perceived as a signal to level of governance of NGO. This study objectively to determine factors that influence the decision of emoluments paid to elected CEO or key committees. Subsequently, this study is to analyze the level of governance of NGO. NGO registered in Melaka will be selected from Registrar of Societies (ROS) in Melaka. Therefore, data for this study will be collected using data from ROS Melaka. 594 registered NGO that located in Melaka will be contacted and interviewed to complete structured questionnaire. Data collected will be analyzed using SPSS software to determine the factors that influences emolument decision. Subsequently, data will be analyzed to determine the level of governance of NGOs in Malaysia, which related to emoluments decision making.

Tourists are now more open in selecting tourist destination. The number of holiday trips were growing rapidly. There were various promotions available to attract tourists to travel either within or outside the country. Travel distance is not an obstacle for tourists to travel, regardless of local and foreign destination. This study will be conducted to identify the motivation of long journey travel that involves push and pull factors. The long journey involves distance, cost and the type of transportation used to get to the destination. For this purpose a comprehensive review and discussion on previous sources which involved a variety of secondary data sources will be used to meet every need of the study objectives. The finding showed that the travel distance was dependent on the motivation for tourists to travel and the type of transport they want to use. Mode of transport used has advantages and disadvantages for long journey travel depending on traveller choice.

Opportunity of access to higher education is related to personal development, as well as to the future status of the individual in the social hierarchy. Therefore, to ensure the opportunity equality of access to higher education is very important and has been a research focus. However, the existing research on the deep causes affecting the opportunity equality of access to higher education is still limited. As a supplement, this paper takes Japan as the research object, analyzes the current situation of higher education enrollment in Japan from three dimensions of material value, cultural value and thinking value, and finds out that there is also the problem of inequality of access to higher education in Japan. Through the analysis of survey data and qualitative analysis, the paper finds out that educational resources, comprehensive quality, cultural atmosphere of growth environment and students’ thinking patterns are all important factors leading to such inequality, and these factors are all related to family income. Therefore, it can be inferred that family income affects the opportunity equality of access to higher education from multiple dimensions in Japan. In order to promote the equality of access to higher education, this paper puts forward some countermeasures to reduce the influence of family income. In the material dimension, it should improve the existing scholarship structure and increase its popularization rate, reduce the part-time job restriction, and alleviate the imbalance of educational resources caused by income difference. In the cultural dimension, it is necessary to balance the differences in the cultivation of comprehensive quality in different schools and families, and create a proper cultural atmosphere of growth environment for students through various methods. In the thinking dimension, families and schools should make more efforts to cultivate the educational thinking of students.

This paper explores the aesthetic function of integrating educational drama practice into English teaching. It aims to shed light on the potential benefits and implications of using drama techniques to enhance students’ language acquisition and overall learning experience. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis, this study examines the relationship between aesthetics and education, highlighting drama’s unique capacity to engage students emotionally, intellectually, and creatively. By immersing learners in meaningful and contextually relevant theatrical experiences, drama practice encourages active participation, builds linguistic proficiency, fosters cultural understanding, and develops key soft skills. Furthermore, this research investigates various drama techniques, such as role-playing, improvisation, and performance, and illustrates how they can be effectively incorporated into English language curricula. Additionally, this paper highlights the importance of the teacher’s role as a facilitator in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students to explore their individual voices through drama. Ultimately, this study advocates for the wider implementation of educational drama in English teaching as a means to enhance students’ language proficiency, cognitive abilities, and socio-cultural competencies, ultimately promoting a more engaging and effective learning experience.

Multi-Attribute Task Battery (MATB) is a software that has been arguably utilized in many ergonomics/human factors studies, including in the topic of mental workload. However, the use of this well-known program in diverse investigations has not yet been systematically tracked. Furthermore, it may be argued that a critical appraisal of MATB is urgently needed so that future researchers and users can take several crucial factors into account when planning a study or experiment using MATB. The aim of this paper is to comprehensively identify and review the use of MATB software in published studies. This aim might be accomplished by achieving two goals: (1) systematic discovery of published papers in literature databases and (2) categorization of research according to pertinent topics. In this paper, thirty-one articles were included for analysis after carefully screening for their eligibility. Our scoping review finds that MATB is a beneficial program for creating multitasking environments in general, with aviation being the area where it has been used the most. The program was also extensively used for studies on mental workload, especially by producing various stimuli that ultimately result in varying degrees of task demand or difficulty. Moreover, to successfully use MATB, researchers must be aware of a few operational issues and criticisms.

Human error is a mistake due to human negligence, both consciously and unconsciously, which can cause a system to experience disruption and not run as planned. These errors can occur at the managerial, conceptual, or technical level. One of the activities with a high potential for finding human error is construction activities. Construction activities are a series of activities that include the construction, operation, maintenance, demolition, and construction of a building. Infrastructure development is one of the government’s policy focuses in 2023, with development from four main areas: water resources, roads and bridges, settlements, and housing. These infrastructure projects must have a good quality because they are closely related to user safety and security. Based on data from the Social Security Organizing Agency (BPJS) Employment and statements from the Ministry of PUPR, the industrial sector is an enormous contributor to work accidents with an average percentage of 32% each year. The human factor is one of the forerunners of human error apart from equipment and working environment conditions. Viewed from the perspective of Cognitive System Engineering, human error is caused by the failure of human cognitive processes where the process is related to Human Information Processing (HIP). This paper will describe and briefly discuss the problem of human error and its relation to Human Information Processing (HIP). This paper will examine various literature and summarize efforts that can be applied to improve the information processing process in the hope of minimizing the occurrence of human error in the scope of construction work.

Lithuania, as most of the EU countries, has an aging population. At the beginning of 2019, there were 552.4 thousand elderly people (aged 65 and older), or 19.8 per cent of the total resident population. Each seventh man and each fourth woman were aged 65 and older ‘(Official statistics portal, 2019). The aim of the paper is to investigate possibilities of Lithuanian social policy to meet older adults’ digital needs for better inclusion and active ageing. Paper is based on secondary data analysis including legal documents (EU and National Programmes, Strategies, Orders), scientific research, statistical (of older adults’ population) and other data (results of national research). A significant proportion of older adults lack the skills to use digital technology, which are essential for successful functioning in society. The rapid development of technology and the recent Covid-19 pandemic have accelerated the transference of many services on the Internet. The importance of the use of technology for older adults was particularly evident during the Covid 19 pandemic. Various research works revealed that the telephone, and less often the computer, had become the main working tool for a significant proportion of close care workers. This situation points to a new need for the development of digitised social services and a new approach to social policy.

This paper selects Zhongzhu Healthcare Holding Co.,Ltd (ST Zhongzhu ) as the research object, introduces the means of ST Zhongzhu’s controlling shareholders’ interest appropriation, studies the factors leading to the behaviour of interest appropriation, and puts forward targeted solution measures. This paper includes the following six parts. The first section is an introduction, combing the related literature and summarizing the background and significance of writing. The third part is the introduction of the case of ST Zhongzhu controlling shareholders encroaching on the interests of listed companies, the controlling shareholders of ST Zhongzhu encroach on the huge interests of listed companies mainly through the appropriation of funds by the related parties and the violation of the provision of guarantees for the related parties, etc., and at the same time elaborates on the negative impacts caused by this behaviour. The fourth part is the reason why the controlling shareholders of ST Zhongzhu’s interest encroachment behaviour can be realized. The fifth part is the measures to prevent the controlling shareholders’ interest encroachment, and puts forward the countermeasures to solve the encroachment of the company’s interests by the controlling shareholders of ST Zhongzhu. The sixth part is the conclusion of this paper. This paper analyses in-depth the current situation of interest encroachment in ST, and puts forward specific measures to solve the problem in view of the contributing factors. This research explores the development trend of the informal economy after the Covid-19 pandemic and the ways to avoid the increase informal economy. The paper discusses the development process of the informal economy, the difficulties it faces, and the causes of its emergence. Based on the detailed analysis of the current situation of informal economy and its possible impact on society, this paper points out that solutions should be implemented from the perspectives of government, enterprises and individuals, which prevent the informal economy from growing at an uncontrollable rate. For example, once the government’s five insurance policies are formulated and laws and regulations are publicized; And the way enterprises treat new technical talents have affected the informal economy to some extent. The research of this paper will increase the understanding and attention of the society to the informal economy. Providing some substantial improvement strategies for the current informal economic system will help more people benefit from the regulated economic system.

With the wide use of network media, consumers’ information acquisition and communication methods have undergone significant changes. Network media not only provides them with a fast and efficient way to obtain information, but also provides them with a broader social space and communication platform. Therefore, the popularity of social media has brought some negative effects, such as low mood and depression among consumers. This paper will first study the impact of social media operation strategies on consumer sentiment. Secondly, the author will examine how social media self-control affects mood, which includes how users control their emotions and behaviors on social media, and the impact of this self-control on consumer mood. This paper will discuss and study through the research methods of psychology and sociology. Finally, this study aims to analyze the problem of information overload between social media and consumer sentiment by focusing on the comments made by consumers on social media. At the end of the study, the research results need to be summarized and analyzed in order to provide useful references for social media platforms to manage consumer emotions, so as to provide useful references for lawmakers, academics and practitioners.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on global trade and its transformation of trade relations between the United States and China. The outbreak of the epidemic triggered a huge restructuring of the global trade system and accelerated the trend of global trade de-globalization. As the two largest economies, the trade relationship between the United States and China plays an important role in this process. This paper analyzes the causes of deglobalization, which are mainly caused by the fracture of industrial chain, trade protection and industrial upgrading. At the same time, the paper focuses on the factors that have caused the deglobalization trend in the post-COVID-19 era, such as changing trade agreements, poor cross-border investment environment, and the challenges and uncertainties brought by e-commerce. Finally, it concentrates on the changes of the US and China bilateral trade in the post-COVID-19 era. Affected by the epidemic, the bilateral relationship between these two countries has become more conflictual and focused on technological competition. Finally, the trend against globalization has led to inefficient economic development and the regionalization of trade because of the necessity of communication.

When conducting international commodity trade, companies have to face changes in the prices of raw materials and finished products. Particularly in the context of a volatile international situation and increasingly complex geopolitics, enterprises are often inclined to engage in hedging activities to mitigate price risks. Establishing and improving risk management in hedging to promote enterprises’ smooth trade business is significant. Good risk management can ensure the long-term and stable development of enterprises. This paper conducts a case study through the March 2022 nickel futures price surge event on the London Metal Exchange. Through the huge loss of Tsingshan Group in the transaction, the cause of the event and the corresponding suggestions are put forward. The causes of the problems are analyzed from the macro-environmental and micro factors of the exchange and the enterprise, and the solutions are put forward. This paper has a certain reference value for similar enterprises to improve their hedging risk management ability.

The Disney Company and Warner Brothers have long played an important role in shaping and disseminating American popular culture. With the gradual development and improvement of the Internet and the information technology these days, they are quietly subverting the traditional culture and entertainment industry. Disney and Warner Brothers, as two large and classic film and television companies, their success from their founding to today cannot be separated from their own business strategies. As Disney gradually became bigger and bigger, it acquired many famous companies as its subsidiaries, and Warner Brothers also developed many peripheral products, or cooperated with other companies for their marketing. However, in the process of continuous development, the two companies also faced different problems. This paper studies and analyzes the development status and business strategies of these two companies. At the same time, it also provides some suggestions that are beneficial for the two companies. This paper uses the comparison method, and uses the tabulator data to more convincingly reflect.

Sanming City, Fujian Province, is known as the green capital of China. This paper focuses on the local forestry carbon sink projects in Sanming City and analyzes their carbon trading prices based on the real option pricing theory and the Black-Scholes model and concludes that the value of the forestry carbon sink projects in Sanming City has been underestimated. This paper seizes the undervalued situation and puts forward certain suggestions for working on projects to develop forestry carbon sink in Sanming, such as increasing the well-being of residents by utilizing forestry carbon sink projects, increasing the number of trading entities in the carbon market, and perfecting the carbon trading market, etc. It also points out that the rationalization of forestry carbon sink products should be carried out reasonably. At the same time, it also points out the significance of reasonable pricing of forestry carbon sink products for the local carbon trading market, which leads to the significance of the rational development of forestry carbon sinks for China’s green development.

In recent years, there are often high premium acquisitions based on high-performance commitment in corporate mergers and acquisitions. The performance commitment is intended to alleviate the information asymmetry between the two parties of mergers and acquisitions, but the pressure brought by the high-performance commitment often triggers the company’s financial fraud behaviour. This paper will use the case study method to select the classic case of Aerospace Communications merger and acquisition of the HiPAD, in-depth analysis of the merged party HiPAD of the financial counterfeiting means, and corresponding to the identification of signs of financial fraud research. This paper analyses the abnormal signs in the public disclosure information of HiPAD from the unique perspectives of financial information identification and non-financial information identification, parent company and subsidiaries, providing a reference direction for the financial fraud identification path. Finally, it puts forward a universal proposal for the prevention of corporate financial fraud in the context of the pressure of the performance commitment, which provides a feasible method for the similar mergers and acquisitions and high-performance commitment cases.

The changes in the Nasdaq and Nikkei over the past in recent years offer valuable insights for evaluating macroeconomic developments in the United States and Japan. Through an analysis of these two indicators, this paper can initially draw conclusions about the state of both countries’ economies. Over the past three years, the Nasdaq index has exhibited a relatively stable growth trend, maintaining strong overall growth despite fluctuations caused by global uncertainties. This may reflect advancements in areas such as technological innovation and the Internet sector, as well as investors’ optimism regarding future prospects. In contrast, the Nikkei index has displayed a more intricate and volatile pattern during this same period. While there have been some gains, it has experienced an overall decline marked by shocks. This could be attributed to various challenges faced by Japan including an aging population, low growth rate, and declining corporate competitiveness. The objective of this paper is to explore a similar model that explains stock markets in both the US and Japan. Many long-term investors base their stock decisions on the assumption that corporate cash flows should grow alongside economic performance while considering a constant or slow-moving discount rate. Therefore, it is expected that stock returns may exhibit correlation with future economic performance. Another concern worth addressing is how deflation might impact real stock returns.

With the development of the financial field, there are more and more hedging strategies accompanied by an increasing number of residual risks in these strategies. These risks are generally ignored by people, resulting in losses. This paper begins with CITIC Securities, the leader in China’s securities industry, and analyzes its large-scale paired trading case, spreading spreads in the A-stock market. Firstly, at the macro trading level, this paper finds that there are still credit risks and liquidity risks in the trading of this investment portfolio by referring to the prospectus of CITIC Securities’ bond offering. It puts forward relevant suggestions to reduce these risks. Next, the focus shifts to the analysis of the portfolio strategy itself. The paper identifies four risk points: stock price rise in advance, abnormal events, reduced hedging opportunities, and market irrationality. It also provides suggestions on how to mitigate losses caused by these remaining risks. For example, setting up profit and loss points, establishing relevant departments to control the remaining risk points, maintaining good customer credit, and improving the company’s credit rating.

Affected by various factors such as COVID-19 epidemic and war, the world economic situation changes more frequently, which leads to increased instability in the international and domestic financial derivatives market. For the substantial changes in the international and domestic financial derivatives market, how to deal with sudden changes and analyze the failure cases in the change of financial derivatives is of far-reaching significance to the rapidly developing domestic financial derivatives market. By taking the Bank of China “crude oil treasure’ margin call liquidation case and Tsingshan LME Nickel Futures Squeeze Case as the core of the study, this paper uses case analysis method to deeply study the possible problems and failures in the futures market under the condition of financial derivatives market instability and puts forward suggestions on how to deal with these problems. This paper analyzes the attributes and characteristics of China’s ‘crude oil treasure’ products and nickel futures products, restores the event process, describes the impact of the event on investors, trading institutions and banks, and puts forward suggestions for improvement. The suggestions in this paper are as follows: First, the company and the regulatory department should strengthen risk supervision and management; Second, companies and investors should improve their professional capabilities.

This paper explores the profound impact of investor behavior, driven by cognitive biases such as loss aversion, the framing effect, and the endowment effect, on financial markets. The presence of these biases introduces market anomalies and long-term reversals, challenging the efficiency of the market. While valuable insights are gained from studying investor behavior, limitations must be considered. Individual variations in psychological traits and decision-making processes may render these theories inapplicable to all investors. Historical data, a primary tool for analyzing behavior, may not reliably predict future market trends. Quantifying cognitive biases and measuring their impact presents challenges due to the subjective nature of psychological factors. Additionally, limited sample sizes in some studies may compromise the generalizability of findings. Despite these constraints, understanding investor behavior remains paramount for unraveling market dynamics and shaping informed investment strategies. The paper underscores the need to acknowledge these limitations while appreciating the nuanced role of cognitive biases in financial markets.

With the acceleration of the globalization process and the increase in international links, global trade and transnational investment are growing rapidly, and a clear and sound investment policy system can provide clear guidance and support to domestic enterprises and investors, while also influencing investment decisions and willingness to cooperate of other countries or regions. This paper presents a concise summary of the investment policies of China and the United States. It highlights that the United States’ investment policies primarily consist of outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) policy and the safeguarding of domestic industries and capital, while China’s focus remains on attracting foreign investment, with continuous OFDI policy improvement. This paper also analyzes the positive impacts and risk challenges of FDI on China’s economy. FDI generally promotes China’s economic growth, provides employment opportunities, improves the quality of labor, promotes technological progress, and enhances innovation, but it also faces a series of problems, especially the negative side of economic stability, market competition, and coordinated social development. Improvements in all these issues require timely adaptation and guidance from national investment policies.

The traditional approval system has in the past suffered from low approval efficiency and inadequate information disclosure, and was prone to market speculation and information asymmetry. In order to improve market transparency and standardization, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) formally implemented a registration system for stock issuance in 2019 and is gradually promoting related reforms. Under the registration system, if the regulator still has questions about a company’s response or needs further information, it may ask additional questions and request more information and explanations from the company. At this point, the company will face multiple rounds of questioning. Simultaneously, the ultimatum game provides a representation of the treaty negotiation and ratification process, highlighting the importance of fairness and reciprocity of the treaty for its signatories. Potential solutions include trade sanctions, tax on exports, and the measure of cumulative emission has been evaluated at the end of the paper.
