Romanin leksikko jakautuu alkuperäiseen temaattiseen ja lainattuun atemaattiseen komponenttin, joita merkitään eri morfein ja jotka kuuluvat eri taivutusparadigmoihin. Suomen romanissa leksikaalisten komponenttien dikotomia on purkautunut, ja temaattiset ja atemaattiset paradigmat ovat sulautuneet yhteen. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan dikotomian purkautumista nykyromanin verbi- ja nominimorfologian valossa sekä pyritään osoittamaan muutostendenssejä ja kuvaamaan niiden seurauksia. Lisäksi artikkelissa tarkastellaan eräiden, lähinnä eri kontaktikielistä lainattujen fonologisten ja morfofonologisten prosessien vaikutusta leksikon komponentteihin ja osoitetaan atemaattisessa komponentissa vallitseva kahtiajako vanhempiin fonologisesti mukautettuihin ja uudempiin mukauttamattomiin lainoihin. Avainsanat: romani, suomi, morfologia, fonologia The Romani lexicon is divided into a thematic, inherited, and a borrowed, athematic component. The lexical components are marked, they use different morphs and belong to different paradigm types. In Finnish Romani, the dichotomy between the lexical components has been partly lost, and thematic and athematic paradigms have merged together. In this article we will discuss the loss of this dichotomy within the light ofmodeen Finnish Romani verbal and nominal morphology. Furthermore, we will show some tendencies of change and their consequencies. The article will also shed light upon the effeet of phonological and morphophonological processes, mostly adopted from different contact languages, on the lexical components, and show a dichotomy in the athematic component between older borrowings that have been adapted into the phonological system of Finnish Romani and more recent ones that are unadapted.
