This study aimed to identify the degree of using the e-Learning resources from the perspective of students at a Public University in Jordan (PU). To meet the study's goals, the researcher adopted the descriptive survey approach and developed an instrument (a questionnaire). The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was checked and then was passed to 410 male and female Bachelor students enrolled at PU for the academic year 2021/2022. The findings of the study found that the degree of using the e-learning resources from the perspective of students at PU is medium. Further, they found that there are statistically significant differences between the means of the aforementioned degree which can be attributed to the academic level for the favor of the students who are in their third year or more. Furthermore, they found that there were no statistically significant differences which can be attributed to gender or faculty. In the light of the study's results, the researchers recommend the need to provide students with training courses to clarify ways to make optimal use of e-learning resources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Each subject needs learning materials, so that each professor prepares lectures and exercises himself. We posted our materials on Moodle platform and on e-library system. At e-library we upload our books and scripts for the subject, but on Moodle we have freedom to post videos, some simulation, open codes, images, text documents, ppt presentations. The students also have the freedom to search and find additional learning materials such as text documents, videos, and images with the aim of making it easier to master and understand the lesson. For that purpose, we had some discussions with our students to define what and how they prefer to learn. Within the academic landscape, distance education is progressively gaining global attention and recognition, and many institutions are committing resources to make it a success. Global enrollments show a steady increase in distance learning. However, the availability of support services and students' technological competence are critical to the success of distance education. One of the important support systems for maintaining effective online education is libraries and information services. As a result, this study investigated the acceptance of e-library and support services. The study was led by the UTUAT model and its accompanying theories, such as the innovation diffusion theory and the theory of planned behaviour. The census technique was used to sample 2003 graduate distance students. The data was examined using multivariate structural equation modeling approach. The study found a negative association between strategic and operational skills and students' intents to use the e-library and support services. However, students' inclination to use the e-library and support services was found to be strongly predicted by social influence. The study concludes by underlining the necessity for distance education institutions to host courses that increase students' operational and strategic skills so that they can properly utilise e-library services. This research is motivated by an interesting phenomenon of changing times marked by the mushrooming use of information technology that makes the Library able to provide all services quickly, precisely, accurately, anytime, and anywhere. And, in real-time these services can be utilized by users, namely the use of e-library applications applied at the UIN Raden Fatah Library is very interesting to be researched. This research is quantitative, and data were collected by using applications from the Library Science students of class 2020. To see the use of the application, researchers use the theory of total quality management (TQM) which is reviewed through 4 principles, namely the principles of user satisfaction, respect for users, management in line with facts, and continuous improvement. Of the four principles, the survey results are above the average of 50%, meaning that each indicator in each principle has good service quality such as a comfortable application interface, user-friendly application use, good and satisfactory e-library service quality, adequate collection, and can meet user needs. Library efforts that continuously add to existing collections in the e-library application are updated to the latest version. There is a huge need to socialize the use of the application and promotional activities for the application to continue to be carried out. The research data shows that the survey results 75% on average, have gone well. Based on the results of this simple research, all principles in TQM have achieved excellent scores, this is shown by the average acquisition of survey numbers above 50%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study investigated the utilization of digital library services for blended learning by students in library schools in Rivers State, Nigeria. Three (3) objectives and hypotheses guided the conduct of the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey design with a sample size of 420 students from the faculty of education selected by random sampling. The study was guided by three research questions and three null hypotheses, which were tested at the 0.05 α-level of significance. A questionnaire of 15 items was used to collect data, while a Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient value of 0.84 was estimated for the instrument. The research questions were determined by mean and standard deviation, and the hypothesis was tested by linear regression statistics. The study found a positive relationship between OPAC and blended learning among students at Rivers State University. Also, it was revealed that there exists a positive relationship between digital reference and blended learning among students. It was further found that there is a positive relationship between internet-based users' education and blended learning among students. The study therefore recommends that the university management should make an effort to upgrade and enhance the digital library system to be more beneficial to students, the institution should organize training workshops and seminars at least once a semester for the students to enable them to effectively utilize and benefit from digital library services and blended learning and the library management should provide a feedback system that can reveal users' responses to the performance of each digital library service and their level of satisfaction. This study assessed the influence of tangible resources on the effective implementation of e-learning during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic era in public universities in Uganda. The concept of tangible resources was derived from the Resource-Based View Theory. Universities' tangible resources for e-learning were operationalized in terms of ICT teaching facilities, access to ICT facilities, e-library resources, and university ICT implementation policies. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from a sample of 312 academic staff using a questionnaire survey. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings revealed that access to ICT facilities and university ICT policy positively and significantly predicted e-learning implementation. However, ICT teaching facilities and library eresources positively but insignificantly predicted e-learning implementation. The conclusions of the study were to the effect that access to ICT facilities and universities' ICT policies are imperative for the implementation of e-learning. Nevertheless, ICT teaching facilities and libraries' e-resources do not necessarily lead to the effective implementation of e-learning. The study recommended that university managers make efforts to ensure that ICT facilities are accessible to lecturers and students and develop policies guiding the implementation of e-learning. This study is designed to explore user behaviour and overall user's usage behaviour based on use of electronic information resources. The purpose of the study is to evaluate and develop user friendly smart e-library management system and to ascertain the extent to which users will increase their use of smart e-library management system based on usage of e-resources by user per time. Rapid Application Development methodology and Matomo data analytics was used to present results in graphical charts and curves. The results obtained as overall users' behaviour analytic shows that the whole registered users behaviour accessed the e-resources and used the smart e-library Management System to their satisfaction. After examining the characteristics of the existing systems and their bottleneck. It was established that such system need improvement in the future especially in the area of data processing. It was recommended that management of Modibbo Adama University Yola in future research should include and expand the existing framework to enable it evaluate data, it was also recommended that Microsoft silver light software be used in the next upgrade because of its improved functionalities and flexibility and finally, it was strongly recommended that oracle should be used in the next upgrade so as to improve data security. In Madhya Pradesh, one college at each district headquarters has been given the status of a leading college. It is the biggest and most resourceful college in the district. There are total 52 leading colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, the leading college of Khandwa district is Shri Nilkantheshwar Government Post Graduate College. 5283 students are studying in present session of 2022-23. It is included in the old and good colleges of the state. In this research paper, the study of the infrastructure of the library and the facilities available for the students is being presented. The purpose of this research paper is to find out the status of the facilities available for the students in the libraries in the lead colleges of Madhya Pradesh and how much the students are taking advantage of them. If the excellence of the facilities is known from the study, it could be adopted as a model. On the contrary, suggestions can be given for the upgradation of the library so that better facilities can be made available to the students in future. Research methods such as field visits, observation of documents, interviews and questionnaires have been used to obtain data and information for this research paper. It was found in the study, that the condition of the library is very good. Sufficient number of books are available. The infrastructure is sufficient. Modern technology is being used, but there is a need to improve the number of students taking advantage of these facilities. This study explores high school libraries and science literacy in South West Nigeria. Availability of human and material resources, attitudes of science students toward the use of libraries, and possible suggestions for improvement of school libraries were examined. Data were collected from six high schools in two states in the south-western part of Nigeria. Quantitative surveys were carried out with three hundred (300) science students. Qualitative data were gathered from student focus groups and semi-structured interviews with thirty (30) students. Illustrative quotes are reported extensively in the paper. The comments were transcribed and coded to identify common themes and factors. The study confirms that there is a wide gap between policy and implementation. This gap is attributable to; lack of resource, inadequate reading space, limited reading time, non-digitization of the libraries etc. The study shows that there is a need for effective implementation of government policies to achieve improved scientific literacy rates. Bu bağlamda okul kütüphaneleri modern çağın getirilerine göre yenilenmeli, öğrencilere ihtiyaçları olan ortamı sunmaya hazır olmalıdır. Türkiye’de okul kütüphanelerini çağa uydurmak, yeni elektronik bilgi kaynaklarını eğitim sisteminde kullanabilmek adına Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı 2011 yılında Zenginleştirilmiş Kütüphane (Z-kütüphane) Projesi için çalışmalara başlamıştır. Bu çalışmanın konu aldığı proje kapsamında Z-kütüphanelerde eylem alanlarının tanımlanması ve bu bağlamda mekanların işlevsellik açısından ergonomik yeterliliklerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, ortaokullarda kurulan z-kütüphaneler üzerinde ilerlemiştir. This research is based on the fact that users feel dissatisfied with the services provided by the e-Library, such as collections and collection information that do not meet user needs. The purpose of this study was to measure the level of satisfaction of e-Library users using the End User Computing Satisfaction method with five perspectives namely Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness. The Impotance Performance Analysis (IPA) method is used to determine which attributes are important to be improved and which need to be reduced to be interpreted in the form of a matrix. This study also calculates the value of Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) to determine the overall level of user satisfaction. The results of this study show that all attributes in terms of Importance are in a very important category, while the Performance attributes are in the satisfied category, namely the Content and Format variables. Variables with quite satisfied categories on Accuracy, Ease of Use and Timeliness variables. The results of the IPA matrix obtained 6 attributes with the most improvement in the Accuracy variable, the attribute with the most good performance in the Content variable. Overall, the CSI value is 60.34%, which means that users are quite satisfied with the performance provided by the e-Library

The paper presents an analysis of the scientific and educational resources of Tomsk Polytechnic University, first of all, there are discussing the different types of training materials developed by the staff of the University. In conditions of open education the information is rapidly changing. Thus, the educational content should not only be available to students in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Service for education and science, but also become the most convenient when working in remote access.

In this study, users’ perceptions and concerns about digital information resources were investigated, focusing on impediments to the use of digital resources, to devise measures for improvement by identifying factors that hinder the use of digital information resources. To achieve the purpose of the study, the research identifies the inconvenien ce factors and establishes the user inconvenience list based on prior research and the current status survey. Based on the derived list, a survey was conducted on users of public libraries. Through this study, it was found that the use of digital information resources can be enhanced by improving the internal library system. Specifically, it refers to improving search performance and accessibility of digital data, providing one-stop services for digital information resources through the operation of an integrated data management system, conducting customized user education, and establishing a digital information resource preservation system, e.g. web archiving. Also, improving the external environment and system, such as contracting with more libraries for digitized data use agreements, strengthening support, unifying the names and classifications of digital information resources, and simplifying the procedure for using digital information resources, is of great importance.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has changed the traditional way of learning into digital way of learning. It has enhanced the learning activity of academicians not only of universities but also of colleges. College Libraries have now been subscribing electronic resources for the past few years. Libraries of the colleges are now being automated and they are moving towards virtual libraries/e-libraries. Resources like electronic books, electronic journals, online databases, electronic reference sources etc. have now become an important part of college libraries. College/Academic libraries are fundamental part of higher education system and it must have the relevant resources for their users. This study examines the electronic resources and Internet being consumed by the students and faculty members of Udai Pratap Autonomous College. The core objectives was that how the faculty members and students of this college face the problem while accessing online resources, how they take advantages of online resources, how much they are aware towards online resources and how much more do they prefer online resources than conventional resources. In this regards, a total 200 faculty members and students were selected to fill up the questionnaire prepared on Google form. Out of 200 respondents, only 160 responses had been received. The study examined library staff ICT skills and influencing factors in the digitization of information resources in federal university libraries in Nigeria. Three research questions and one hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. The population for the study was 250 library staff that were digitizing library materials. The study revealed that five Federal University in Nigeria are involved in digitization of information materials in their libraries. These include Ahmadu Bello University library, Zaria; University of Jos library, Plateau state; University of Nigeria, Nsukka library, Enugu state; Obafemi Awolowo University library, Ile-Ife, Osun state and Federal University of Technology library, Owerri. The study showed that 203 library staff who answered the questionnaire administered was involved in the exercise of digitization of information resources in their university libraries. It also showed that dissertation, theses, staff abstract among others were the major materials they digitized. Desktop computer, laptop, and book scanner were the main hardware used while Dspace, KOHA and Endnote were the main Software used. The research also established that influencing factors such as availability of good means of digital preservation and accessibility, global needs, need to improve library resources, availability of fund (grants), changing nature of the library, higher education needs and technological push has influence on digitization regardless of the gender of the library staff. The study affirmed that there is also no significant difference between male and female mean responses on the influencing factors of digitization of library information resources in Nigerian university libraries. The research also recommends that copyright issue should be properly addressed; fund and power supply should be made available in Nigerian University Libraries to enable digitization of library resources, digital preservation, and accessibility. It also recommends that library should seek grants and Tertiary Education Fund (TetFund) should continue to support the tertiary institutions through its yearly and regular financial intervention, as this has made things easy in universities in Nigeria. The library is the heart of an institute, which disseminates the knowledge through improved methods of communication to meet the information thrust of its users by providing the required information in no time. The tremendous advancement in information and communication technology (ICT) means have brought a revolutionary change in the information scenario giving rise to some options to handle varied information sources conveniently and effortlessly. The result is that the e-resources/digital resources have become the most desired resources by the users in a contemporary library. The convergence of computers, telecommunication, multimedia, the internet, and network helped in the development of the digital library. The major findings of the study reveal that the majority of respondents 65.3% prefer to use print + digital resources whereas 26% of respondents prefer to use only print resources. The majority of the respondents agree that sufficient resources are available to cater to their information requirements. The findings show that 79.1% of respondents make use of digital resources to get the required study material; 60.8% of respondents preferred to access the resources from the library. 81.3% of respondents agree that more training programs be organized for the optimum utilization of the resources. The importance of professional training of library personnel industry, who have management and digital competences, has been substantiated. The grounds for the development of the academic program of professional training of the specialists in the field of e-libraries innovative programs and projects management have been presented. The aim and the subject matter of the Master’s academic program “Libraries E-Projects Management” in the field of training 38.04.02 “Management” have been characterized. The features of Master’s degree education program at the State University of Management have been highlighted, such as focusing on the practical aspects and transferring the studying experience into actual professional activities, the multidisciplinary approach as digital projects management personnel training strategy, cooperation with leading libraries of the country etc. The importance of attracting specialists who have not only academic degrees and titles, but also significant experience not only in library practice, but also in management activities, to teaching specialized disciplines, has been noted. The possibilities of developing an extended Master’s program focused on modern museums and archives in addition to library specialists have been indicated.

The study investigated the prospect and challenges of Electronic Information Resources (EIR) usage by Distance Learning Students of University of Ibadan. The use of EIR for traditional and distance learning cannot but be looked into. The world is changing at a faster pace and new innovative ways are important in delivering good, quality and sustainable education. The results of the study show the negative attitudes of students facing many challenges at the Distance Learning Centre towards the usage of Electronic Information Resources (EIR); they also have positive hope towards the prospect of using Electronic Information Resources (EIR) in the six departments sampled. Students complained of not having full access to Electronic Computer at the DLC, University of Ibadan, and advocated for the provision of student cybercafé/ICT Center at the DLC, University of Ibadan. Students also stated that there should be adequate electricity power supply, provision of good Internet Services and Distribution of Personal Laptop Computers for online interactive class [OIC] and Portable Android Tablet [PAT] loaded with e-books and e-journals that can be accessed both Online and Offline to students at affordable price. This study investigates the design of a Conceptual framework for Smart E-library Management System for use by the Ibrahim Babangida Library, Modibbo Adama University, Yola. The study is guided by 2 objectives to help in overcoming the current challenges being encountered in the management of eResources and planning. The research study is designed to help staff enhance performance in providing library services electronically; it helps students reduce rigour of manual usage, it will guide ICT directorate develop a blueprint in developing software for libraries and add to existing body of knowledge. This study also evaluated an existing framework that is based on cloud computing and came with a server based Smart E-Library Management System. The study concluded that Smart e-Library Management System is an essential component in the academic library. The study focuses on concept, access, management, services and ease of access via the browser-based platform. This help in obtaining much resources as possible from the users for the library, and this include post graduate theses and dissertations. Background: Accurate information about chemotherapy drugs and regimens is needed to reduce chemotherapy errors. A national e-library, as a common knowledge source with standardized chemotherapy nomenclature and content, was developed. Since the information in the library is both complex and extensive, it is central that the users can use the resource as intended. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the usage and usability of an extensive e-library for chemotherapy regimens developed to reduce medication errors, support the health care staff in their work, and increase patient safety. Methods: To obtain a comprehensive evaluation, a mixed methods study was performed for a broad view of the usage, including a compilation of subjective views of the users (web survey, spontaneous user feedback, and qualitative interviews), analysis of statistics from the website, and an expert evaluation of the usability of the webpage. Results: Statistics from the website show an average of just over 2500 visits and 870 unique visitors per month. Most visits took place Mondays to Fridays, but there were 5-10 visits per day on weekends. The web survey, with 292 answers, shows that the visitors were mainly physicians and nurses. Almost 80% (224/292) of respondents searched for regimens and 90% (264/292) found what they were looking for and were satisfied with their visit. The expert evaluation shows that the e-library follows many existing design principles, thus providing some useful improvement suggestions. A total of 86 emails were received in 2020 with user feedback, most of which were from nurses. The main part (78%, 67/86) contained a question, and the rest had discovered errors mainly in some regimen. The interviews reveal that most hospitals use a computerized physician order entry system, and they use the e-library in various ways, import XML files, transfer information, or use it as a reference. One hospital without a system uses the administration schedules from the library. Conclusions: The user evaluation indicates that the e-library is used in the intended manner and that the users can interact without problems. Users have different needs depending on their profession and their workplace, and these can be supported. The combination of methods applied ensures that the design and content comply with the users' needs and serves as feedback for continuous design and learning. This study aims to investigate and measure the satisfaction of students with the libraries' services of Malaysian Universities. To achieve this, a self-administered questionnaire was distributed among the students of private Universities. The survey instrument was adapted from Parasuraman's traditional SERVQUAL model. In this research total of 287 responses were collected from the users of libraries. After analysis of data with SPSS and Smart PLS 3, it has been concluded that the Service Quality dimension "Tangibles" is the most important factor in the satisfaction of the users. SERVQUAL components' reliability also has a significant positive impact on student's satisfaction. Compared to previous studies which say empathy has a positive relationship with the students' satisfaction we have found that the responsiveness plays a mediating role between empathy and customer satisfaction. If employees are empathic, their responsiveness increases and ultimately students become satisfied with the library services. This study is beneficial for the librarians and decision makers of the Universities. Library building, seating arrangement, printing and scanning facilities, and e-library content should be top priorities of all the management to increase library usage and keep the students satisfied. Library management should also focus on responding to student queries on a priority basis to improve the responsiveness which has a direct relationship with the students' satisfaction.

The library in university is required to provide the best service to support the quality of the academic community. Therefore, they provide not only digital collections but also other information materials. The originality that offered in this research is there is still a rare research about Technology Accreditation Model (TAM) in E-libraries at state university libraries in Indonesia. The data collection technique used is a survey with questionnaires. This research uses accidental sampling in collecting data from 150 respondents who are study in sarjana programs of 5 selected State Universities in Malang, Indonesia. The variables of this study consisted of 3 variables; they are perception of usability, perception of ease and attitude of user. The linear multiple regression analysis technique is used as data analysis technique in this research. The hypothesis in this research was analyzed partially with the t-test and simultaneously with the F-test. The results indicate that the utility perception variable positively influences the attitude of user in the E-Library System in the State University Libraries in Malang, Indonesia.

This study aims to analyze how the appearance, accessibility, contents, and to empower the IR UNDIP. The research method used is qualitative by using in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and FGD as a method of data collection. Data processing is done by reducing and verifying data. The results showed that: (1) the display used by IR UNDIP was considered too simple, monotonous, and less user friendly; (2) the contents of the repository, must be complete and varied, according to the study programs available at the university; 3) increasing the ease of access of IR UNDIP needs to be considered, by providing instructions on how to log in by users and to increase the speed of wifi.

Global services with an agent or a multi-agent system are a promising and new research area. However, several measures have been proposed to demonstrate the benefits of agent technology by supporting distributed services and applying smart agent technology in web dynamics. This paper is designed to build a Semantic Web on the World Wide Web (WWW) to enhance the productivity of managing electronic library applications, which poses a problem to researchers and students, represnted by the process of exchanging books from e-libraries, where the process is slow or the library needs large system data. In this work, we found a solution to this problem by using agent technology based on the WebSocket, where any user can use this library to achieve fast communication and high information based on the e-library. The model will be simple and small. In addition, the library does not need an employee responsible for entering information into the library database, as the Firebase includes a cloud-based database that synchronizes data across every client in Real-time and supplies offline functionality. Any researcher can access the form by logging in. This application is installed on the central library server and every user who uses this library reaches a quick result, as conducted and proven in the current work. On average, the time required to process 10 requests using HTTP was about 25 ms, while it was 19 ms when Socket.io was utilized for the processing of 100, 500, and 1000 requests, time values were 168 ms, 779 ms, and 1520 ms using HHTP and 30 ms, 102 ms, and 172 ms using Socket.io, respectively. This study examined the state of e-library development in tertiary institutions in Nigeria using Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri, Imo State - Nigeria as a case study. Survey research design was used to conduct the study. The population of the study consists of 44 library staff (professionals and para-professionals) which was purposively used to conduct the study. The main instrument for data collection was the questionnaire based on a modified 4-point scale type. Data was analyzed using arithmetic mean. Findings showed that the state of e-library development in tertiary institutions in Nigeria is at the embryonic stage since many tertiary institutions in Nigeria are yet to achieve a breakthrough in e-library development due inadequate funding and personnel. It is mainly Education Trust Fund (ETF) that funds e-library development in tertiary institutions in Nigeria while the management of the parent institutions fails to give full attention to e-library development. It is recommended that adequate funds should be e-marked for the provision of elibraries in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. One of the most promising means of creating and updating the database of educational and methodological materials are assumed to be cloud technologies (CT). The prospects of cloud technologies have made it possible to assume that, unlike traditional, educational and methodological support developed in the context of cloud technologies, it is open and dynamic, elementarily interchangeable and responsive to a wide range of teachers with different levels of IT competence. Theoretical and methodical principles of pedagogical training of teachers in the conditions of informational and educational environment of a HEI are substantiated: availability of interrelated IT tools system, software tools of cloud services intended to provide openness and accessibility of the selection and modification of teaching aids, organization of interactive training; diagnostic and control of the training at all stages with the aim of possible adjustment of it (application of a person-oriented approach), feedback; multilevel and differentiated approaches in training with the possibility of continuous on-line and offline assistance; flexibility of training organization. The research aims substantiate theoretical and methodical principles of professional training of physical education teachers under the conditions the university's informational and educational environment. Methods: retrospection, comparison, content analysis; synthesis, generalization, theoretical design; psychopedagogical observation, conversations, testing, questionnaires, interviews; pedagogicalexperimentwithqualitativeandquantitativeanalysisofresults, their statistical processing (A chi-squared test or χ² test, Microsoft Excel, α² dispersion, Student's t-test, the Pearson correlation coefficient). Participants: 642 students were divided into three groups: two control groups (CG1 - 210, CG2 - 215) and one experimental group (EG - 217). Results: the values of the observed statistics χ2/13 and χ2/23 are respectively 8.45 and 10.08, gives grounds for rejecting the null hypothesis and acceptance of an alternative hypothesis. Conclusions: The experimental checkup indicates the effectiveness of the developed model, which was used by students of experimental groups since it made it possible to improve the quality of students' pedagogical knowledge, form independent work skills and increase the level of professional motivation. This study aims to investigate and measure the satisfaction of students with the libraries' services of Malaysian Universities. To achieve this, a self-administered questionnaire was distributed among the students of private Universities. The survey instrument was adapted from Parasuraman's traditional SERVQUAL model. In this research total of 287 responses were collected from the users of libraries. After analysis of data with SPSS and Smart PLS 3, it has been concluded that the Service Quality dimension "Tangibles" is the most important factor in the satisfaction of the users. SERVQUAL components' reliability also has a significant positive impact on student's satisfaction. Compared to previous studies which say empathy has a positive relationship with the students' satisfaction we have found that the responsiveness plays a mediating role between empathy and customer satisfaction. If employees are empathic, their responsiveness increases and ultimately students become satisfied with the library services. This study is beneficial for the librarians and decision makers of the Universities. Library building, seating arrangement, printing and scanning facilities, and e-library content should be top priorities of all the management to increase library usage and keep the students satisfied. Library management should also focus on responding to student queries on a priority basis to improve the responsiveness which has a direct relationship with the students' satisfaction. An e-library system provides convenience and extensive information to users. Although despite the use of advanced technologies and financial investment on electronic resources, previous researches on e-library system has shown that potential users may not use the systems in spite of their availability. In order to find out the causal relationship, this study was conducted to determine the constructs that influence the users' acceptance of e-library system. This case study research, conducted at a private university in Malaysia uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a theoretical framework. This study investigates the effect of the system characteristics such as the relevance, screen design and terminology toward the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on intention to use the e-library system. There are 140 students participated in this quantitative study. The results can improve the existing e-library system to attract more students to utilize e-library systems in their learning life. The study investigated the influence of information literacy skills on the use of e-library resources in tertiary institutions in Akwa Ibom State. Students need information for a variety of activities and the e-library is a resource center for providing a wide range of electronic resources that can meet any academic purpose. However, the use of electronic resources is largely dependent on the skills and information literacy of the students. An empirical survey was carried out to examine the impact of computer literacy skills among undergraduate students in tertiary institutions in Akwa Ibom state on the use of e-library resources. A total of 500 questionnaires were administered and analyzed using ANOVA. The study reveal that the quality and volume of academic work is largely influenced by the knowledge and skills possessed in the use of e-library resources. Purpose: This paper examines the future of 21st century libraries against the backdrop that many libraries have moved or are in the process of moving from a traditional print-based collection to one where traditional hardcopy and electronic information resources co-exist and are brought together in an integrated information service, accessed via electronic gateways available both on site and remotely via the internet or local computer networks. Design/Methodology/Approach: This is a reflective paper based on author's observation, experience and review of related literature. Findings: Hybrid libraries are the new norm in most public and academic libraries of this 21st century since they offer a combination of traditional and virtual provisions in collections stored in digital formats which are accessible via computers and bibliographic databases that index thousands of peer-reviewed scientific journals; many offer access to full text articles. This means bringing the two worlds of librarianship in one place. Research Limitations/Implications: The implication of this study is therefore that hybrid library should not, then, be seen as nothing more than an uneasy transitional phase between the conventional library and digital library but, rather, as a worthwhile model in its own right, which can be usefully developed and improved. This study examines the association between socio-demographic and programme-related factors and usage likelihoods of two types of e-resource platforms (E-library and Learning Management System (LMS)) by Open Distance Learning (ODL) university students. Based on stratified random sampling measures, primary data were collected from 1,192 student respondents from an ODL university in Malaysia. Information on socio-demographic characteristics (age, ethnicity, gender, education level, household income) and programme-related factors (location of regional centre, year registered, programme of study, attendance to orientation session) were elicited. Logistic regression analysis was applied on two separate outcome variables with affirmative (Y=1) and negative (Y=0) responses reflecting E-library and LMS utilisation. Results indicate that students who are more likely to use E-library consist of older, recent enrolees, and orientation session participants, while Chinese students are less likely to use the facility than their respective peers. Positive LMS usage likelihoods are associated with students who are younger, female, Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) holders, orientation programme attendees, Science and Technology majors, registered five or more years, and those hailing from the regional centres of Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur. Students from low income bracket households are less likely to utilise LMS than others. Based on these outcomes, several observations are noted to provide university policy-makers with a better understanding of the determinants of E-library and LMS utilisation among ODL university students. Context: As medical science is a continuously advancing discipline, the use of medical library by teachers is an important means for enhancing knowledge & skills. Aim: To assess the changing needs of teachers and availability of library services. Settings and Design: Descriptive observational study, Cross sectional in design. Method: Data collection was done among 100 randomly selected teachers, by pretested, predesigned, self responding questionnaire. Response rate was 70%. Statistical Analysis: Statistical analysis was done by using Likert scale. Result: As departmental libraries and users were more updated, use of college library by medical teachers is limited as a place to sit (36%) and for reading newspapers (61%). 30% of staff used e-library due to lack of internet speed. 50% of the staff used e-resources daily for retrieving information by using departmental computers, personal laptops, smart phones and tablets. 34% of staff felt that book collection is good while 36% of the staff was not satisfied about journal collection and rated it as poor. Conclusion: Though E-resources were the most preferred way for information access, it was least used due to lack of awareness and speed of internet. Generation Z users are maximum dependent upon the technology as many new concepts have been emerging like e-newspaper, ebanking, e-marketing, e-buying and tab-accounting. The users of the Generation Z cannot sustain in the traditional academic and professional environment without technology. In fact they feel suffocating and handicapped in the absentia of advanced technological gadgets. With the advent of digital media and online information resources, public libraries as physical destinations for information access are being increasingly challenged. As a response, many libraries follow the trend of removing bookshelves in order to provide more floorspace for social interaction and collaboration. Such spaces follow a Commons 2.0 model: they are designed to support collaborative work and social learning. The acquisition of skills and knowledge is facilitated as a result of being surrounded by and interacting with a community of likeminded others. Based on the results of a case study on a Commons 2.0 library space, this paper describes several issues of collaboration and social learning in public library settings. Acknowledging the significance of the architectural characteristics of the physical space, we discuss opportunities for ambient media to better reflect the social attributes of the library as a place; i.e. amplify the sense of other co-present library visitors and provide opportunities for shared encounters and conversations, which would remain invisible otherwise. Ondo State University of Science and Technology library subscribes to EBSCO Academic Search Complete database and registered for access to free electronic databases, vis-à-vis, AGORA, HINARI, JSTOR, AJOL and OARE which contains current electronic journals to satisfy the information needs of her users particularly the academic staff and students. Having rendered this service for three academic sessions, it is appropriate for the stakeholders to assess the performance of the e-library and its resources in terms of their perception about the electronic resources and the services rendered. Purpose – The aim of the paper is to investigate the achievements of librarians from the workshop on e-library services organized by the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) in collaboration with The United States Mission, Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach – In total, 35 librarians purposively selected from universities, colleges of education, and polytechnic libraries participated in the study, which adopted semi-structured interviews. Findings – It emerged that librarians who participated in the workshop have been exposed to skills in areas such as database searching, using different search engines, using social media, knowledge of relevant websites, and knowledge of planning for e-libraries. The participants are of the opinion that a workshop of this kind should be organized at least twice a year to upgrade librarians' skills on e-library services in Nigeria. Practical implications – Library associations in other developing countries can also partner with professionals from developed countries to organize workshops and seminars like this to equip librarians with the necessary skills to render e-library services effectively and also to train users to use e-resources effectively. Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to explore the understanding of e-library usage and e-library acceptance behaviors. In this paper, we use the technology acceptance model (TAM) and flow theory as theoretical frameworks in order to propose a new model for explaining users'' intentions to cont''inue using the e-library. The sample for this study consisted of Korean elementary students that use an e-library system (booktobi). Booktobi, which was established in 2005 in Korea, is the earliest and most famous e-library for elementary school students in Korea. The data for this study were gathered in February 2009 by means of a paper-and-pencil survey. In total, 541 students participated in the study, and a total of 395 students completed the survey, resulting in a response rate of 73%. Of the 395 participating students, 192 were male and 203 were female. With respect to age and education, most of the participating subjects were between 11 and 13years old. The participants had approximately six to seven years of computer and Internet experience and reported spending an average of 1 to 4hours on the computer and/or Internet every day. In terms of their usage tendencies, 34% of respondents chose gaming, 29% chose chat-rooms, 19% chose Web browsing, 13% chose e-mail, and 5% chose downloading. The results of this study indicate four major findings. First, interface characteristics (in terms of terminology, screen design, and navigation) can indirectly influence the perceived usefulness via the perceived ease of e-library system use. Second, system characteristics (in terms of relevance and system quality) can directly influence the perceived usefulness of e-library systems. Three, system quality can positively influence both perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of e-library system use. Finally, the total influence of the perceived ease of use can be singled out as a primary determinant of behavioral intention. Although smaller in magnitude, the significant effect of system quality on perceived usefulness suggests that by improving the fit between e-library systems and user information needs, we cannot only generate positive perceptions about the usefulness of e-libraries but also about the ease of their use.
