In the present work, we will study the superconducting properties of a mesoscopic three-dimensional prism with square transversal section under an external magnetic field in both Zero-Field Cooling (ZFC) and Field-Cooling (FC) process. The studied sample is a three-band system (with three condensates ψ 1 , ψ 2 , ψ 3 ), in which we take a Josephson type inter-band coupling simulated via γ parameter. We analyze the magnetization, superconducting electronic density and free Gibbs energy considering both processes. As results, we found an interesting tunneling of vortex and anti-vortex between the bands, and vortex cluster configuration in the sample. The aim of this systematic review is to collect and summarize the benefits of Pilates in the elderly population (>60 years old), within the current scientific production, assessing its contribution to Healthy Ageing (HA). We used PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis) to select, collect, and analyse this thematic. The methodological procedures were registered in the PROSPERO database. The main results of the studies analysed (n = 30) point to significant differences between the intervention and the control groups in dynamic balance, strength, mobility, functional capacity, risk of falling reduction, and mental and psychological health. Thus, the results showed that Pilates may be beneficial for the health of the elderly. The meta-analysis found statistical differences between means on the dynamic balance (mean difference (MD) = −0.0, 95% CI [−0.71, −0.50]; I2: 0%) and the aerobic capacity and aerobic resistance [(MD) = 38.29, 95% CI [6.82, 69.77]; I2: 0%). Thus, it is concluded that the efficacy of Pilates has been shown in various areas of HA and has proven to be affordable and safe for the majority of people, using just a mat on the floor. Future studies should focus on the analysis of the relationship between the cost and the benefit of a Pilates intervention in the elderly population, to better understand how health costs can be minimized and to contribute to a multidisciplinary and generalized HA. Purpose: The authors investigate the magnetic properties of a mixed spin-3/2 and spin-2 Blume-Capel model on square and cubic lattices with two different single-ion anisotropies. Design/methodology/approach: To study the critical behavior of a mixed spin-3/2 and spin-2 system, the authors have used a real space renormalization group approximation and specifically the Migdal-Kadanoff technique. The authors give the phase diagrams for two different cases: (1) on the (Δ/|J|, 1/|J|) plane with ΔA = ΔB = Δ, and (2) on the (ΔA/|J|, 1/|J|) and (ΔB/|J|, 1/|J|) planes for selected values of ΔB/|J| and ΔA/|J|, respectively. Findings: The phase diagrams obtained show that the system exhibits both second- and first-order phase transitions as well as tricritical points for some values of the anisotropies. Moreover, using the variation of the free energy and its derivative at low temperatures, the authors have seen the appearance of first-order transitions at very low temperatures. Originality/value: Few investigations of mixed spin-3/2 and spin-2 systems with crystal field have been realized. For this reason, the authors use the renormalization group approach to complete the work done on these systems. Featured Application: The dielectric function and optical conductivity are used to evaluate voltage-capacity profiles, as their shape is rooted in the multi-orbital nature of the redox process in battery materials. This represents a firm approach to characterise materials for energy storage, and battery materials in particular, and offers a robust predictive framework for novel battery materials, one that can be rapidly matched to measurable quantities. Motivated by experiments, we undertake an investigation of electronic structure reconstruction and its link to electrodynamic responses of monoclinic MoO 2 . Using a combination of LDA band structure with DMFT for the subspace defined by the physically most relevant Mo 4 d -bands, we unearth the importance of multi-orbital electron interactions to MoO 2 parent compound. Supported by a microscopic description of quantum capacity we identify the implications of many-particle orbital reconstruction to understanding and evaluating voltage-capacity profiles intrinsic to MoO 2 battery material. We have studied the effects of the random single-ion anisotropy and random magnetic field in the phase diagram and in the thermodynamic properties of the spin-3/2 Blume–Capel model via Curie–Weiss mean-field approximation. The phase diagrams were built in the planes temperature versus single-ion anisotropy, temperature versus magnetic field, temperature versus random parameters and the dependencies of magnetization were plotted versus temperature and single-ion anisotropy. These diagrams show that, in the space ( D / J − T / J ) , the type (first- or second-order) of the phase transition between the ferromagnetic and paramagnetic phases is dependent on the random parameters. Therefore, within these conditions the model presents tricritical behavior. For large values, and a certain critical value of the random parameters, the phase transition is only of second-order, but it is of first-order within the ordered phase, between the phase with m = 1 / 2 and m = 3 / 2 , which ends in a terminal critical point.
