This study shows the way in which sustainable learning through cooperation with parents is achieved before, during and after the lockdown period (COVID19) by applying systematic formative assessment. Therefore, as a result of this cooperation, through the planning and realization of the formative assessment, students' motivation is achieved, and this positively affects their sustainable learning. The study has a research character and points out the impact of feedback on student achievement from the perspective of parents and teachers. The study analysis is based on the quantitative data collected through a survey with parents (N = 21), qualitative data collected by the teacher through planning and implementation of the formative assessment and cooperation with parents through written comments. Based on the results of the findings, it is concluded that through timely interventions by teachers and cooperation with parents, gaps can be filled in, so that the children are informed appropriately and a real, reliable and systematic assessment is carried by the teachers.

The Covid19 pandemic has led to many publications about its influence on the treatment and evolution of individuals with a substance use disorder, leading to contradictory results. In this study, the adherence and abstinence rates of patients who started treatment in an Addictive Behavior Unit during the pandemic are analyzed, compared with others who attended the previous year and comparing those who were attended in person or by phone. The results indicate that during the Covid19 period, patients had greater adherence to treatment after one month of follow up and when attended to by phone. At 3 and 12 months, greater adherence was maintained, although it was not statistically significant. Regarding abstinence, the small sample size made it difficult to obtain significant differences. The conclusion is that, despite a quantitative decrease in the number of patients beginning drug treatment, in qualitative terms the pandemic led to greater adherence in the short and medium term. Telephone attention can play an important and positive role at this point, complementary to other resources and interventions.

Abstract Background Despite publications assuring no increased risk for acute cardiovascular events (excluding myocarditis) and sudden death following administration of COVID19 vaccines, these issues still stir much public ado. We assessed the risk for acute cardiovascular events that require hospitalization (excluding myocarditis) and for mortality in the short-term following administration of the second dose of the Pfizer COVID19 vaccine in Israel. Methods Using a self-controlled case series (SCCS) study design and national databases, all second-dose vaccinees, who had not been diagnosed with COVID19 and who had an acute cardiovascular event (acute myocardial infarction/acute stroke/acute thromboembolic event) that required hospitalization in the 60 days following vaccine administration between Jan 11th, 2021 and Oct 31st 2021, were included. A similar analysis was carried out for mortality. The first 30 days following vaccination were defined as risk period while the next 30 days were defined as control period. The probability for an event between these periods was compared using a conditional logistic regression model, accounting for sex, age group, background morbidity and seasonal risk. Results Out of 5,700,112 second dose vaccinees, 4,163 had an acute cardiovascular event in the 60 days following vaccine administration. Following exclusion of 106 due to technical considerations, 1,979 events occurred during the risk period and 2,078 during the control period: Odds ratio, OR = 0.95, 95% confidence interval, CI 0.90–1.01, p = 0.12. Adjusted OR was similar (OR = 0.88, 95%CI 0.72–1.08). Stratifying by age showed no increased risk in any age group. Mortality assessment indicated low number of events in both periods. These results were consistent in sensitivity analyses. Conclusions There was no increased risk for acute cardiovascular events (excluding myocarditis) in the risk period compared to the control period following administration of the second dose of Pfizer COVID19 vaccine. Mortality data raised no concerns either, but may have been biased.

Las fuentes condicionan la calidad y orientación de las noticias de salud y permiten explicar y humanizar los datos. Con el objetivo de conocer si hubo cambios en las fuentes periodísticas sobre salud tras la pandemia, se analizaron los contenidos de prensa, radio y televisión generalistas de gran audiencia en España y se entrevistó a 16 periodistas especializados. Los resultados cuantitativos muestran que los expertos son la fuente principal más frecuente tras la COVID19, seguidos de los pacientes y las instituciones del Estado, lo que supone un cambio significativo (p < 0,001) respecto a prepandemia, cuando las instituciones ocupaban el primer lugar. Cualitativamente, los periodistas de salud manifiestan su crítica y desconfianza hacia las fuentes oficiales. Se concluye que existen cambios y una evolución en las fuentes periodísticas de salud en España, que posteriores estudios determinarán si solo afecta a medios generalistas.

This study was intended to hear from experts. Meta-classroom is a university curriculum in the field of culture and arts. The research area is a Korean university lecture room. The target audience is the master's program, doctoral program and related experts, and the departments are performing arts, media communication, and film department. Outside were educators and experts. Due to the COVID-19 environment, meta-classrooms were provided to the educational environment. The purpose is to find the Meta-classroom and the possibility of curriculum progress. The content of the curriculum consists of knowledge VR, AR, AI and big data. The research tool did a regression analysis, found to have an impact on, they are online education is 0.28 (%), metaverse classroom is 20.6 (%), knowledge system is 12.5 (%), Meta-class is overall influence 33.38 (%). It had a positive impact on a new educational curriculum in the field of culture and art.

Abstract Initial studies on the immunogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 (CoV-2) S glycoprotein (“spike”) as a protein subunit vaccine suggested sub-optimal efficacy in mammals. Although protein engineering efforts have produced CoV-2 spike protein sequences with greatly improved immunogenicity, additional strategies for improving the immunogenicity of CoV-2 protein subunit vaccines are scaffolding and the use of adjuvants. Comparisons of the effectiveness of engineered protein-only and engineered protein-nanoparticles vaccines have been rare. To explore this knowledge gap, we inoculated mice with two doses of either sequence-optimized trimeric spike protein or one of several sequence-optimized spike nanoparticles. We measured their immune response up to two months after the first dose. We also measured the immune response and protection against live virus in hamsters inoculated with either sequence-optimized trimeric spike protein or a liposome-based sequence-optimized spike nanoparticle. We found that in the presence of adjuvant, the antibody and neutralization titers elicited by spike-nanoparticles were not significantly greater than those elicited by spike-only in mice, even at doses as low as 0.1 µg/animal. Hamsters vaccinated with spike-only or spike-nanoparticles were equally protected from live virus one month after their first inoculation. These results suggest that sequence-optimized protein subunit vaccines in the form of individual prefusion-stabilized trimers can be as effective in improving immunogenicity as scaffolded forms.

Abstract COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus, has raised significant interest in understanding potential cross-immunity mechanisms. Recent evidence suggests that T-cells associated with common cold coronaviruses (229E, NL63, OC43, HKU1) may provide some level of cross-immunity against SARS-CoV-2. It is also known that the prevalence of smokers among patients admitted to hospital for COVID-19 is lower than expected according to the corresponding country’s smoking prevalence, which is known as smoker’s paradox in COVID-19. No clear consensus to explain it has yet been reached. This phenomenon suggests a complex interaction between smoking and immune response. Nonetheless, very few works have studied the prevalence of smokers in those infected by common cold coronaviruses, and its relation to COVID-19 has not been investigated. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to study the prevalence of smokers among patients infected by common cold coronaviruses, and to compare them to the corresponding country’s smoking prevalence. L’Abbé plots were used to visually assess the consistency of the observed effects across the different studies included in the meta-analysis. Additionally, significant differences were found in smoking prevalence among the various types of ccCoV, indicating the need for further research into the biological mechanisms driving these disparities. The results show that smoking prevalence is higher among those patients infected by these coronaviruses than in the general population (OR = 1.37, 95% CI: 0.81–2.33). A study was separately done for the four coronavirus types, and the prevalence of smokers was higher in three of the four than that corresponding to country, gender and study year: OC43 (OR = 1.93, 95% CI: 0.64–5.82); HKU1 (OR = 3.62, 95% CI: 1.21–10.85); NL63 (OR = 1.93, 95% CI: 0.64–5.82); 229E (OR = 0.97, 95% CI: 0.50–1.90). The heterogeneity of the studies was assessed using the Cochrane Chi-squared test, I-squared (I2), and Tau-squared (τ2). This detailed statistical analysis enhances the robustness of our findings and highlights the variations in smoking prevalence among different ccCoVs. Our data suggest that COVID-19 might be less prevalent among smokers due to greater cross-immunity from a larger number or more recent infections by common cold coronaviruses than the non-smoking population, which would explain smoker’s paradox in COVID-19. IMPLICATIONS. The low prevalence of current smokers among SARS-CoV-2 patients is a finding recurrently repeated, even leading to postulate the “smoker’s paradox” in COVID-19. This fact compelled us to study the prevalence of smokers among patients infected by common cold coronaviruses, and to compare them to the corresponding country’s smoking prevalence. Our data could explain smoker’s paradox in COVID-19 by a greater cross immunity due to a larger number, or more recent infections by common cold coronaviruses than the non-smoking population. This manuscript allow understand potential unrevealed mechanism for low prevalence of current smokers among SARS-CoV-2 patients.

Abstract Introduction Healthcare providers should be well prepared to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and protect their patients and themselves as frontline workers. The aim of this study was to assess oncologists’ and health care workers (HCWs) knowledge, attitude, and practice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on them. Material and methods This cross-sectional study was conducted among Egyptian oncologists and HCWs in the oncology department at Suez Canal University Hospitals, Egypt. Participants were reached through a Google Form questionnaire. The questionnaire was shared on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp) over four months, from June 1st to September 30, 2022. All physicians and HCWs in the oncology department were invited to participate in the survey. Researchers intended to enroll all physicians and HCWs within the study period. Results Out of the 110 participants included in the study, there was a female predominance, and the majority were oncology nurses and clinical oncologists. Knowledge with significant participants’ characteristics showed that knowledge significantly varied by age. The level of knowledge was significantly higher among participants between 30 and 40 years old (OR = 5.111; 95% CI, 1.202–21.738; P = 0.027). 65.5% of the participants had poor knowledge, with a mean ± SD of 4.9 ± 1.4. About 43.6% of the participants experienced more burnout than before the COVID-19 pandemic, with a negative emotional impact. 63.7% reported a negative financial impact due to the pandemic. 62.7% had support from their family, even though their job increases their risk of infection. 7.3% only reported a positive impact regarding their friend’s relationship. Conclusion COVID-19 pandemic has a negative impact on oncologists' personal and professional lives. Interventions should be implemented to lessen the negative impact and better prepare oncologists to handle future crises with greater efficiency and resilience.

Abstract To verify if data obtained in the prehospital evaluation of patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) during the initial response to the COVID-19 pandemic is associated with clinical outcomes: mechanical ventilation, hospital discharge, and death. This is a retrospective analysis involving secondary data from the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) records and the Health Surveillance Information System of patients assisted by the EMS in Manaus, from January to June 2020, the period of the first peak of COVID-19 cases. The combination of the two databases yielded a total of 1.190 patients, who received a first EMS response and were later admitted to hospital with SARS and had data on clinical outcomes of interest available. Patients were predominantly male (754, 63.4%), with a median age of 66 (IQR: 54.0–78.0) years.
