The cogeneration system of heat, power, and biogas (CHPB) driven by renewable energy provides an effective solution for carbon emission reduction in rural China. Starting from fully meeting the energy demand of 17 new rural residential households in Lanzhou, considering the annual dynamic local climate change, energy consumption characteristics, and environment parameters, a model of environmental benefit index for the CHPB system is constructed. The concept of emission factor is used to quantitatively analyze the environmental benefits of the system. The equivalent CO2 emission factor is defined to connect emissions with energy output, evaluating the environment-friendly potential of energy supply system. Compared with the conventional systems of independent power and thermal generation, the year-round characteristics of CO2 emission and emission structure chart of the proposed system are analyzed. The results show that the total CO2 emission and the average equivalent CO2 emission factors of the conventional and CHPB system are 85.45t, 1.53 kg/kWh, and 308.46t, 0.22 kg/kWh, respectively. The maximum CO2 emission reduction ratio of the CHPB system is 113.47%. Anaerobic digestion technology is employed to consume biomass feedstock, which reduced CH4 emission (equivalent to 86.36t of CO2 emission reduction). Five typical cities were selected to study the regional adaptability of the system and analyze environmental benefits. The results indicate that the CHPB system has the best environmental performance in Guangzhou, where the average CO2 emission reduction rate is 103.52%.

This paper aims to deeply explore the influence of different inclination conditions on the heat transfer characteristics and broaden the application scene of a pulsating heat pipe. A test device for the heat transfer performance of a pulsating heat pipe under different inclination angles is designed and built. Under the condition of 70% liquid filling rate, ethanol and HFE-7100 are selected to carry out the experimental test with heating power of 40–140 W and dimensionless thermal difference of 0–0.56. The heat transfer performance, the temperature in the evaporation section and the internal pressure fluctuation of the pulsating heat pipe were experimentally studied. The results show that under the condition of uniform heat flux, for ethanol working medium, when the pulsating heat pipe is heated at 40 W, the operating thermal resistance varies significantly with different installation angles. At this time, the operating thermal resistance of a pulsating heat pipe with installation angles of 45°, 70°, 90° and D90° is 1.38 °C/W, 1.60 °C/W, 1.73 °C/W and 2.07 °C/W, respectively. With the increase in installation angle, the operating thermal resistance also increases gradually, reaching the maximum at 90°. At low heating power, the effect of the installation angle on the ethanol working medium is significantly greater than that of HFE-7100 working medium. The HFE-7100 working medium showed lower operating thermal resistance at low heating power, but with the increase in heating power, the operating thermal resistance of the two working medium gradually approached a 70% filling rate. Under non-uniform heating conditions, when HFE-7100 is used as a working fluid, the operating thermal resistance of a pulsating heat pipe under different heating power was lower than that of the ethanol working medium. The operating thermal resistance is less affected by the installation angle, and the overall heat transfer performance is better. The phenomenon in which the ethanol working medium is obviously affected by the installation angle can be improved by non-uniform heating conditions. For ethanol working medium, when the dimensionless heat difference reaches 0.33 under the condition of a 45° installation angle, the average temperature fluctuation in the evaporation section appears gentle. At this installation angle, the internal working medium of the four elbow pulsating heat pipe devices used in this research more easily forms a cycle in the pipe than the 90° installation angle.

In order to ensure the safety and extend the lifecycle of lithium-ion power batteries in electric vehicles, a battery thermal management system based on minichannel liquid cooling is proposed to cool rectangular lithium-ion batteries, and a three-dimensional cooling system model is established. The effects of the number of channels, the thickness of heat conducting silicone grease and the thermal conductivity of the battery itself on the temperature rise and voltage drop changes during the discharge process of the battery are studied. The results show that the maximum temperature of the battery decreases with the increase of the number of channels, and the voltage drop inside the channel increases with the increase of the number of channels. The maximum temperature of the battery increases with the increase of the thickness of the thermal grease, but the increase is only 1.26 K. The maximum temperature and local temperature difference of the battery change significantly with the change of the thickness of the battery and its own thermal conductivity. The simulation results will be beneficial to the design of a battery thermal management system based on minichannel liquid cooling.

Train-induced environmental vibrations are a common issue in urban rail transit systems, particularly in suburban railways operating at high speeds, where the impact of these vibrations is more pronounced. This presents significant challenges for urban planners and engineers. Existing research has mainly focused on the impact of single tunnel structures on ground vibrations, with limited understanding of the vibration propagation characteristics of adjacent bidirectional tunnels. To address this gap in knowledge, this study investigates the ground vibration attenuation characteristics induced by train operations in the underground sections of suburban railways, with a focus on the amplification effects of adjacent tunnels on ground vibrations. The results show that the vibrations induced by the trains are concentrated in the 20–50 Hz frequency range and exhibit similar characteristics in all directions. The maximum vertical vibration acceleration and peak acceleration occur directly above the train tunnel. Additionally, adjacent tunnels significantly amplify the maximum peak acceleration at measurement points in directions perpendicular to the track, including both horizontal and vertical directions. Furthermore, the soil within the adjacent tunnels also exhibits amplification of the vertical power spectral amplitude in the 40–100 Hz frequency range. The findings of this study provide new insights into the influence of adjacent bidirectional tunnels on environmental vibrations in suburban railway operations. These results are of significant importance for optimizing railway design and vibration mitigation measures.

Idesia polycarpa from Sichuan is a valuable germplasm with high economic potential, but it faces variety scarcity. To address this, this study collected 16 varieties (lines), identifying IpHT1 as a promising parent due to its high oil content (38.5%) and red fruits. Polyploid induction via adding 0.50% colchicine to Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium yielded 520 IpHT1 mutagenized seedlings. Subsequently, flow cytometry (FCM) was performed on 401 morphologically variant seedlings which had been initially screened, resulting in the identification of 15 suspected triploids, 35 suspected tetraploids, and 3 chimeras. Furthermore, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis found that the probe (AG3T3)3 had terminal signals at both ends of each chromosome, allowing for the counting of 42 chromosomes in diploids and 84 in tetraploids. The probe 5S rDNA showed 2, 3, and 4 hybridization signals in the interphase nuclei of diploid, triploid, and tetraploid cells, respectively, but the probe (GAA)6 failed to produce any signal on I. polycarpa chromosomes. Ultimately, 18 polyploids were selected, including 7 triploids and 11 tetraploids. Triploids and tetraploids showed significant leaf morphological and physiological differences from diploids. Consequently, this study successfully established a polyploid breeding system for I. polycarpa, thereby enhancing its genetic diversity and breeding potential.

With a dynamical mass of 3 M _Jup , the recently discovered giant planet AF Lep b is the lowest-mass imaged planet with a direct mass measurement. Its youth and spectral type near the L/T transition make it a promising target to study the impact of clouds and atmospheric chemistry at low surface gravities. In this work, we present JWST/NIRCam imaging of AF Lep b. Across two epochs, we detect AF Lep b in F444W (4.4 μ m) with signal-to-noise ratios of 9.6 and 8.7, respectively. At the planet’s separation of 320 mas during the observations, the coronagraphic throughput is ≈7%, demonstrating that NIRCam’s excellent sensitivity persists down to small separations. The F444W photometry of AF Lep b affirms the presence of disequilibrium carbon chemistry and enhanced atmospheric metallicity. These observations also place deep limits on wider-separation planets in the system, ruling out 1.1 M _Jup planets beyond 15.6 au (0.″58), 1.1 M _Sat planets beyond 27 au (1″), and 2.8 M _Nep planets beyond 67 au (2.″5). We also present new Keck/NIRC2 $L^{\prime} $ imaging of AF Lep b; combining this with the two epochs of F444W photometry and previous Keck $L^{\prime} $ photometry provides limits on the long-term 3–5 μ m variability of AF Lep b on timescales of months to years. AF Lep b is the closest-separation planet imaged with JWST to date, demonstrating that planets can be recovered well inside the nominal (50% throughput) NIRCam coronagraph inner working angle.
