Continuous crystallization technology has attracted rising attention from chemists and material scientists. In this paper, cefminox sodium is selected as a model drug for consecutive antisolvent crystallization using a multistage mixed suspension mixed product removal (MSMPR) crystallizer. The effects of operating parameters on the product crystal particle size, crystal habit, and yield under steady‐state conditions are investigated in detail: operating parameters such as the initial concentration of the crystallization solution, the volume ratio of the crystallization solution to antisolvent, the total flow rate, the amount of seed crystals added, the crystallization temperature, and the mixing rate. The kinetic solubility data of cefminox sodium in two binary aqueous mixed solvents at 278.15–303.15 K are determined by laser dynamic method, and two empirical models are subsequently borrowed to fit the obtained data. This work provides a new crystallization process for cefminox sodium. After optimization, the mass yield is increased to 89.11%, the average particle size Dv(50) is about 164 µm. The crystallization process of bis(2‐hydroxyethyl) terephthalate is experimentally investigated. The optimized crystals of bis(2‐hydroxyethyl) terephthalate have the median particle size (D50) of 1300 µm and a perfect crystal habit, and their diameter span reduces from 11.48 (before optimization) to 1.72 (after optimization). The results show that more oxygen atoms at both ends of the crystal are exposed to the crystal surfaces, which make it easy to form hydrogen bonds with free bis(2‐hydroxyethyl) terephthalate. • Solubility of spirotetramat in four binary solvents was measured. • Five models were chosen to correlate the solubility data. • KAT-LSER model was applied to analyze the solvent effect. The solubility of spirotetramat in four binary solvents (methanol + water, ethanol + water, isopropanol + water, acetone + water) were studied by laser monitoring observation technique. The solubility data of spirotetramat in binary mixed solvents were subsequently fitted by the modified Apelblat model, λh model, Van't Hoff model, Jouyban-Acree model and NRTL model. The results showed that Apelblat model and Van't Hoff model were more suitable for fitting the solubility data. Furthermore, the effects of the solute–solvent intermolecular interactions on the solubility were analyzed using the KAT-LSER model. The results showed that the dipolar/polarizability of the solvent had the greatest influence on the solubility of spirotetramat. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
