This study investigates the rang clauses in modern mandarin Chinese from the Cardiff Grammar approach with the aim to answer a central question concerning the clauses, i.e., what are the syntactic functions of rang in the clauses? After reviewing previous studies and clarifying the basic notions established in the Cardiff Grammar, the study analyzes and discusses the syntax of the generally recognized four types of the clauses with the objective to match semantic functions to syntactic elements. The study shows that when rang expresses "concession," it functions as a main verb, which expounds the Predicator of the clause; when it means "causation," it is a causative verb, which expresses an "influential process," with the nominal group following rang as the Subject of the embedded clause; when rang is equal to Chinese "bei," it is a preposition, whose function is to introduce the Agent of the action and syntactically it together with its following nominal group forms a prepositional group, expounding the Complement of the clause; when rang expresses "wishes," it functions as a Mood marker and syntactically it is analyzed as the direct element of the clause, i.e., Let Element. This study investigates the semantics of MOOD and the syntax of the let’s-construction in English from a Cardiff Grammar approach. After reviewing previous studies and specifying basic notions in Cardiff Grammar, the study analyzes and discusses the semantics of MOOD and the syntax of the construction with linguistic data from COCA. The study shows that semantically the let’s-construction realizes [proposal for action], where three choices could be made: [by self and addressee], [by self] and [by addressee], with [by self and addressee] having the highest frequency. Dependent on these choices, more delicate choices could be made with different probabilities, such as [firm proposal], [statement of assumption], [statement of wish], [suggestion], [offer], [self-deliberation] and [request]. Syntactically, in most cases the study analyzes let in the construction as a direct element of the clause, i.e. Let Element (L), ‘s as the Subject and the lexical verb following let’s as the Main Verb. In highly specialized cases, let’s as a whole is analyzed as L, and the nominal group following let’s as the Subject. The basic syntactic forms to realize MOOD meanings of the construction are ‘L^S’ and ‘O^L’. This unique clause element of L plays an important role in MOOD selection of the construction. Background and Aims: The residual lesions after Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) contributes to poor prognosis in patients with Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia Grade 3 (CIN3). The aim of this study is to establish an effective clinical predictive model for residual lesions in CIN3 patients after LEEP., Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 436 CIN3 patients who underwent total hysterectomy within 3 months after LEEP. Based on the post-hysterectomy pathologic, the patients were divided into the no residual group and residual group. Clinical parameters were compared between the two groups, and univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify independent risk factors for residual lesions in CIN3 patients after LEEP. Using R software, a nomogram model was established and its effectiveness was evaluated using calibration plots., Results: There were 178 cases in the residual group and 258 cases in the no residual group. The two groups had no significant difference in general characteristics ( p  > 0.05). It was found that Post-LEEP follow-up HPV, Post-LEEP follow-up TCT, and the Gland involvement were independent risk factors for residual lesions in CIN3 patients after LEEP (all p  < 0.05). The consistency index (C-index) of the nomogram model for predicting residual lesions was 0.975 (0.962-0.988)., Conclusion: The Post-LEEP follow-up HPV, Post-LEEP follow-up TCT, and Gland involvement are independent risk factors related to residual tissue after LEEP surgery in CIN3 patients.
