This paper examines the linear effects of economic growth on carbon emissions and their impact on mortality and morbidity rates in specific regions sub-Sahara Africa, Middle-East and North Africa, Europe and Central Asia (SSA, MENA, ECA). By analyzing longitudinal data for 82 panels over 30 years, we investigate the relationships between energy usage, per capita GDP, life expectancy, and carbon emissions. Our estimation results show positive correlations between energy use, carbon production, and life expectancy in both the combined sample and individual regions. However, death rate has a negative relationship with carbon production in the combined sample, MENA, and SSA regions. Per capita GDP positively influences carbon emissions and life expectancy in the combined sample and ECA, MENA, and SSA regions. We also identify asymmetric relationships between per capita GDP and carbon production, with evidence supporting the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis for the combined and ECA samples, and an N-trajectory for SSA. These findings emphasize the importance of region-specific approaches to sustainable development, considering the unique environmental and economic challenges each region faces. Policymakers should consider our research insights when designing policies to mitigate the negative impacts of economic progress on the environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the development of technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, digital technology and finance are becoming increasingly intertwined. At present, digital finance has altered the competitive environment of commercial banks, and the traditional competitive edges in service scenarios and channels, customer information, and capital have been challenged. Based on perfect competition and technology spillover effects, this study attempted to measure the impact of digital finance on commercial banks' total factor productivity (TFP) and its mediating and moderating mechanisms. We have used the data envelopment analysis-based Malmquist productivity index to measure the total factor productivity of 132 commercial banks in China between 2011 and 2019. The results show that (a) digital finance significantly enhances the TFP of commercial banks; (b) risk taking partially mediates the relationship between digital finance and TFP. The study further tests the effect of the nature of property rights and the moderating effect of diversification. The findings suggest that digital finance significantly improves the TFP of non-state-owned commercial banks but has no significant effect on the TFP of state-owned commercial banks. Additionally, the implementation of diversification can strengthen the effect of digital finance on TFP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Stable development of strategic emerging industries promotes its industrial transformation and upgrading, which has affected the development of not only the society and the economy but also other fields, thereby having a great impact on employment. To measure the impact of structural change of strategic emerging industries on employment in China, this paper constructs a regression equation, in which the employment of strategic emerging industries is the dependent variable, while the change direction of strategic emerging industry structure, the employment elasticity of strategic emerging industries and the change speed of industrial structure are the independent variables. The research results are as follows: (i) The change direction of strategic emerging industries is positively correlated with employment. (ii) The employment elasticity of strategic emerging industries is on the rise, and is positively correlated with employment. (iii) The speed of change of strategic emerging industries is unstable, and is negatively correlated with employment. As a result, the structural change in strategic emerging industries has played a role in promoting employment. The government should recognize the impact of structural changes in strategic emerging industries on China's employment. By implementing the existing strategic emerging industry policies and improving the external environment for the development of strategic emerging industries, the strategic emerging industries will play the role of "innovation, growth and leadership" in economic and social development. In recent years, innovation and entrepreneurship education is one of the hot spots of higher education research and practice in China. Innovation and entrepreneurship education can be taken as a new direction. Despite the commonly held view that entrepreneurship education drive the promotion of entrepreneurial intention, little is known about the mechanism through which this intervention impacts on entrepreneurial intention. Based on the assimilation learning theory of cognitive structure and the planned behavior theory, the purpose of this work is to analyze the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship education (IEE) and entrepreneurial intention from the perspective of educational psychology, to explore the influence mechanism of IEE on entrepreneurial intention, and to promote the success of college students in entrepreneurship. In this study, questionnaires were conducted among college students of different colleges, majors, and grades in Anhui province, with the aid of multiple linear regression analysis and mediating effect model analysis. The results show that IEE has positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. In addition, entrepreneurial knowledge plays a mediating role in the relationship between IEE and entrepreneurial intention. And the mediating effect of innovation behavior and entrepreneurial attitude is not obvious. These results are expected to provide evidence for understanding the relationship between IEE and entrepreneurial intention under the background of Chinese education, to enrich and expand the theoretical basis of IEE, and to possess theoretical, empirical, and practical significance for the design and implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students. This study aims to explore the psychological capital of entrepreneurship and the deviant innovation behavior of employees, thereby providing theoretical support for the implementation of Chinese innovation policy. By analyzing the previous research results, this study used questionnaires to collect the required data for exploration. Two questionnaires were designed: one was a survey for the psychological capital of entrepreneurship, and the other was a survey for deviant innovation behavior of employees. The research results show that the correlation coefficient between entrepreneurial performance and entrepreneurial psychological capital is 0.29, indicating that there is a significant correlation between entrepreneurial psychological capital and entrepreneurial performance; the correlation coefficient between entrepreneurial opportunity ability and entrepreneurial performance is 0.40, indicating that there is a significant correlation between entrepreneurial opportunity ability and entrepreneurial performance; the correlation coefficient between entrepreneurial psychological capital and entrepreneurial opportunity ability is 0.81, indicating that there is a significant correlation between entrepreneurial psychological capital and entrepreneurial opportunity ability. In addition, there are significant correlations between the work values and psychological empowerment of employees, the work values and deviance innovation of employees, and the psychological empowerment and deviance innovation of employees. The scores of psychological empowerment and work values of employees during the period of low emotional intelligence show a downward trend, while the scores of the psychological empowerment of employees increase significantly when they show high emotional intelligence, and the differences are statistically significant. When task interdependence is high, the psychological empowerment and deviance innovation scores of employees are lower, and the difference is statistically significant. For this purpose, this study enriches the research on psychological capital and deviant innovation and provides a reference for the practice of innovation management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to analyze the relationship between entrepreneur psychological capital, creative innovation behavior, and enterprise performance based on the actual situation of Chinese enterprises and provide a theoretical basis for the application of entrepreneur psychological capital in enterprise innovation and performance development, in this study, 536 entrepreneurs from 517 enterprises in different fields in Anhui region were selected, and a questionnaire survey on the psychological capital of entrepreneurs, creative innovation behaviors, and corporate performance was conducted. A hypothesis model of the relationship between entrepreneur's psychological capital, creative innovation behavior, and enterprise performance was constructed. The correlation between entrepreneur's psychological capital, creative innovation behavior, and enterprise performance and the intermediation of creative innovation behavior were analyzed using multiple-regression model and structural equation model. The results show that there is a significant positive correlation between dimensions of self-efficacy (regression coefficient = 0.682, p = 0.000), toughness (regression coefficient = 0.526, p = 0.000), and enterprise performance; there is a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of optimism (regression coefficient = 0.471, p = 0.003), hope (regression coefficient = 0.590, p = 0.006), and enterprise performance; there is a significant positive correlation between entrepreneurs' technological innovation behavior (regression coefficient = 0.506, p = 0.000), business innovation behavior (regression coefficient = 0.562, p = 0.000), and enterprise performance; there is a significant positive correlation between entrepreneurial relationship acquisition behavior (regression coefficient = 0.632, p = 0.004) and enterprise performance. Taking entrepreneurs' creative innovation behavior as the intermediary variable, the authors conclude that the dimensions of entrepreneurs' self-efficacy, hope, optimism, toughness, and the standardized path coefficient of enterprise performance are significantly reduced; through the analysis of structural equation model, it is found that the fitting index of the model of entrepreneur's psychological capital, creative innovation behavior, and enterprise performance meets the fitting standard, which shows that both the psychological capital and the creative innovation behavior of entrepreneurs can promote the improvement of enterprise performance. Entrepreneur's creative innovation behavior plays an intermediary effect in the positive influence of entrepreneur's psychological capital on enterprise performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

JOB stress , *INTENTION , *MODERATION , *MINING corporations - Abstract
The current study examined the role of affective commitment in the relationship between perceived organisational support (POS), job stress, and quitting intention of mining sector employees. The participants were 407 employees of a mining company in Ghana (females = 41.8%, manager = 41.3%, mean age = 2.13 years, SD = 0.77 years). They completed existing measures of perceived organisational support, job stress, affective organisational commitment, affective occupational commitment, and turnover intention. Following mediated-moderated analysis, the results showed the employee's perceived job stress to mediate the relationship between POS and turnover intention. Additionally, affective organisational and occupational commitments moderated the relationship between job stress and turnover intention such that the relationship between job stress and turnover intention was less positive when affective commitments are high. From these findings, we conclude that providing employees with perceived organisational support will not only help reduce stress-related turnover intention, but may also help employees to develop an emotional attachment which will buffer the effect of stress on turnover intention. JOB security , *CIVIL service , *JOB performance , *LOCAL government , *MUNICIPAL services - Abstract
We investigated the relationship between public employees' job security, motivation, and role performance; and how affective commitments moderate this relationship among local government service employees. Participants were 373 local government service employees from Ghana (females = 41.5%; mean service experience = 2.71, SD = 1.03; junior employees = 43.4%). The employees completed self-report surveys. Results following Hayes' process macro models showed that motivation mediates the relationship between job security and in-role and extra-role behaviours. Moreover, the results revealed affective organisational and occupational commitments to moderate the job security-role performance relationship. Affective commitment was high when job security was low. Affective commitment seems conditional on job security and role performance among low job security employees. This is perhaps due to their desire to present a self-image that may improve their prospects of job continuity with the organisation and occupation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper investigates the relationship between female executives and corporate philanthropy in China with a sample of 1,944 listed A‐share Chinese companies selected from the Shanghai and Shenzhen security markets from 2014 to 2016. The results show that regarding corporate philanthropic behavior, existing female executives or top managers (chairperson or CEO) who are female will stimulate philanthropy. In the scale of corporate philanthropy, existing female executives have no significant effect on the scale of philanthropy, whereas the proportion of female executives has a promoting effect on the scale of philanthropy. In addition, the nature of the actual controller of corporations and the degree of industry competition influence female executives' tendency to promote corporate philanthropy. Existing female executives in nonstate‐controlled corporations are more likely to promote philanthropy than those in state‐controlled corporations. Existing female executives in corporations facing a normal degree of industry competition promote philanthropy more than those in corporations with a strong or weak degree of industry competition. - Abstract
The stiff situation of competitiveness in every industry has posed some serious challenges for businesses all over the world. Thus, every segment of the business is realizing the importance of creativity to remain alive in a cut-throat competitive environment. However, the banking sector has not received due attention in this regard. To bridge this gap, the current study was carried out to explore the relationship of employees' perception of corporate social responsibility (CSR) of their bank and employee creativity with the mediating effect of inclusive leadership (IL). The data for the current study were collected from the banking sector of Pakistan through a self-administered questionnaire (n = 533) and were analyzed by using structural equation modeling (SEM) in AMOS. The statistical findings of the current survey validate the direct relationship between CSR and employee creativity. The results also confirm the mediating effect of IL in this relationship. The findings of the current survey will help policymakers from banking institutions to improve their understanding of CSR. Furthermore, these findings will help policymakers to embrace employee creativity as a "new normal" for this sector. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Within the context of the large-scale application of industrial robots, methods of analyzing the life-cycle cost (LCC) of industrial robot production have shown considerable developments, but there remains a lack of methods that allow for the examination of robot substitution. Taking inspiration from the symmetry philosophy in manufacturing systems engineering, this article further establishes a comparative LCC analysis model to compare the LCC of the industrial robot production with traditional production at the same time. This model introduces intangible costs (covering idle loss, efficiency loss and defect loss) to supplement the actual costs and comprehensively uses various methods for cost allocation and variable estimation to conduct total cost and the cost efficiency analysis, together with hierarchical decomposition and dynamic comparison. To demonstrate the model, an investigation of a Chinese automobile manufacturer is provided to compare the LCC of welding robot production with that of manual welding production; methods of case analysis and simulation are combined, and a thorough comparison is done with related existing works to show the validity of this framework. In accordance with this study, a simple template is developed to support the decision-making analysis of the application and cost management of industrial robots. In addition, the case analysis and simulations can provide references for enterprises in emerging markets in relation to robot substitution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Diversification is a strategy adopted by many enterprises in the process of expansion. The success of the diversification of an enterprise mainly depends on the choice and implement of strategy; choosing an organizational structure that fits the type of diversification strategy used is fundamental to improving financial performance. Based on the empirical research method, this study establishes a symmetric model of diversification strategy and organizational structure on financial performance and selects data from 613 A-share-listed companies in China, from 2012 to 2016, to test the impacts of unrelated and related diversification strategies on financial performance, as well as the moderating effects of united company, holding company, and multidivisional structures on such relationships. The results show that there is asymmetry between the diversification strategy adopted and financial performance, and a related diversification strategy should be adopted as a priority; the symmetry of an unrelated diversification strategy and holding company structure on financial performance is partially confirmed, and other elements should be adopted, simultaneously, to improve this symmetry; a related diversification strategy and multidivisional structure on financial performance is symmetric. The above findings will provide references for the diversification strategy choice and the organizational structure design of enterprises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
